I hate being told when I can and cant see my kids, and I hate being told to give my money to someone else or I'll be punished or have my freedoms taken away. I want my money in my house supporting me and my kids. Not taken away from me and told if I can't pay I will be jailed or have my drivers licence taken away. I did not file for divorce and I did not do anything wrong and I am not behind on my support. Just give me back my kids so I can have a normal life again.. Child support is legalized slavery. Take it from a guy who works 16-18 hours a day and spends weeks waiting just to see his kids. And no I did nothing wrong to loose my kids my ex got me on a technicality and my good nature... Fight for your kids men! Don't let the broken system turn you into a slave!REPORT COMMENTS

My ex left me for another man. In the six months that pursued I have had the kids got them in school doing well and took on all aspects of parenting. Her and her boyfriend had an argument so she moved back in with her mom last week. I've been paying her mom to watch kids while I work but now my ex decides she is a mom again so she sent me a text after I dropped kids off for me to work saying that she is keeping them and has filed for child support. She has no job no car and nothing to provide for them all thier clothes and things are at my house. They don't even live in the school district my kids attend. How is this possible for her to do this? She has hit rock bottom and I'm her way out through child support payments. I used the N.C calculator and under our circumstances with her not working has me paying 800.00 a month this is insaneREPORT COMMENTS

Why should parents that want to be a part of their children's lives be punished? Let them prove themselves. Someone wanting to see thier children and spend time with them should not have to pay a ridiculous amount in child support. They have to be able to support themselves as well. Everything should be 50/50 when it comes to the kids. You BOTH made them then you BOTH need to provide for them EQUALLY.REPORT COMMENTS

This system is a sham. Simply put, it is giving financial incentive to get divorced if the lower earning parent "isn't happy". That is an unacceptable reason to ruin the lives of children. People need to take responsibility for their choices, and pay for their own lives post-divorce. 50/50 custody and both parents pay for their own households is the only way it should be!REPORT COMMENTS

I pay $1700 for 2 kids. Don't get me wrong I don't have a problem doing so how ever I was ordered to pay this in Wi and they live in Mt which is a much lower cost of living. Ex now works and gets half my retirement. So those of us doing the right thing are getting hit hard.REPORT COMMENTS
