I don't understand if the custodial parent is receiving food stamps, and cash assistance that it is not included as income!!! How is it fair that parents who have equal custody (every other week) they make the parent who makes more money pay for the two weeks the child is with the other parent???? No parent who needs child support should need to spend 160$ a week when that parent already gets free food, free rent, and extra cash!!!! If the other parent needs help for two weeks while they have their child then maybe it is best that they stay with the parent who can afford them. Another thing, just because one parent decides to settle and not work should not be able to get more money every time the other parent makes more money in their career choices. Set a guideline! It's not hard to determine how much money a CHILD needs. This is child support not alimony!!!!!!!!!

I just was put on child support because the mother of my child signed up for foodstamps & welfare....she receives SSI and doesn't work.....the court decided I owe over 9,000 bucks but I've been in my sons life since he was born & he just turned 4.....not to mention me and his mother was living together for the first two years of his life....I have kept a active job & paid for EVERYTHING he ever needed so how do I owe $9,000 ????? I'm currently homeless and sleep in my car....how will I ever be able to take care myself and get off the streets now.....I have sacrificed everything for my son.....I been living on the streets for over 6 months and I still take care of my son when the mother of my child ask for anything I give it to her....I'm so busy making sure he is taken care of I can't take of myself.....now with this new judgment saying I owe $ 9,000 im afraid they're going to take my income tax and I was depending on that to make a down payment on a apartment.....on top of that pay $260 a month & I'm homeless.....I don't what to do but I do know child support needs REFORM!!!!!

We desperately need some child support reform. The courts don't care about good fathers. Paying child support and arrears have caused me to become homeless and everything else. They nickel and dime the father to death. But then on the other hand it's not enough money to really help the mother. So how do you plan to buy a house or put your daughter through college? I want to be able to do both. I never ever want my little girl to experience homelessness. So in the end everyone loses. Mainly the child. And what about the women who get pregnant on purpose and then leave the man as soon as the baby is born? Just so she can collect money. That's what happened to me and so many other men. Whoever gets custody of the child should support the child. I know if I had my daughter I wouldn't ask the mother for a penny.

I am very active in my children's lives with a very active role in all of their activities, yet i am treated as though i am a deadbeat dad. My ex makes 2 times the salary i do and yet i pay her 28% of my income and 50% of the excess bills. While i have no issue in taking care of my children why am i paying for room and board and food when i have my children 50% of the time. This law makes no sense and bring a lot of unneeded animosity between my ex and I. I am struggling to pay regular bills all while shes on a Disney cruise. I cant afford to make those kinds of memories with my children and it tears me up. Its time to fix this mess of a system.

Too many women are refusing to even attempt to support their children and the courts are enabling this while making the fathers who are doing right and paying support live below the poverty level while being denied time with their children, it needs to be reformed NOW!

Please my husband works hard to support his family, but we are constantly in court because of his son mother falsely accusing of abuse neglect and drug abuse we had proven time and time again that these are all false and done out of jealousy and hate but the courts never hold her accountable. We have spent over 20,000 in court fees our other children suffer because of the bias towards the mom, she doesn't work an collects social security (she is too sick to work but not to sick to have more kids) we pay way touch in child support when her husband works and she gets 2600 in social security both me and my husband work and we can barely keep a roof over our heads and it not that we don't make goo money 85,000 between the two of us it's just that it goes in the court system and her pocket. The laws need To change as times have changed

We are getting killed out here. Child support is extortion! The extortionist call and harass and threaten with jail time. I paid these extortionist for the oppurtunity to beg for mercy and lower my support while i deal with my hep c and herniated disc. They never looked at my paperwork. They could care less. They said my problems were temporary and not a permenant change. They did nothing! They dont care for our kids. They dont care for us. The judge will lock us in jails with no mercy. Its wrong. Its greed. Its evil. We have to fight back!

Have sold custody of 2nd child yet that fact is ignored regarding my first son, treated like a deadbeat dad by our legal system and GOV agencies. Imagine what those thousands in legal/lawyer fees could do for my children. Not to mention the fact our legal system and CS Agency is easily used for personal revenge. Not a comparison but same political theory... consider when "black" skin meant ride in back of the bus, same theoretical concept. Just because of one trait... you are labeled and judged. Very wrong, take a stand and stop voting "lesser of two evils", evil is still evil, my vote does mean something (personally at least) and can be withheld. Message to Congress and fellow citizens, join me, not a quick process but your take on this issue... join me.
