With women wanting to be considered equal parts across the board pertaining to being CEO's of companies, running for president, being on the front lines in the military, and umpires in professional sports, I think it is very fair that women be held financially responsible for the birth of their children. Men are not breadwinners while women are stay at home wives like it was in the 1950's so why should the courts keep that same approach? To place women in that context is giving them permission to use welfare and financial assistance programs because they are the "victim" because they had children. I served proudly in the USAF and I manned a .50 caliber machine gun on convoy missions, please do not tell me I get to claim that, because I am a woman, a man owes me money because I am the weaker gender due to the fact I have children. An AVERAGE of children's expenses should be considered when determining child support such as average cost of daycare expense, healthcare, food for the children only, and school supplies for the year should be calculated. Even if the mother or father did not have children, it would still be up to them to find a place to live, pay rent, utilities, and car notes SO THAT SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED. It is CHILD support, not MOM/EX-WIFE support. If I got divorced from my husband with our children involved, I would want the expenses split half and half or what would be a reasonable amount depending on what the father could provide. I'd rather work together with the children's father, than alienate him which would make the well being of my children less attainable. I have a case where I only had sec with the mother once, I had to take a blood test among 12 other men, I was being bullied before I ever got any results.. I am a felon and have been in and out of low paying jobs for years. I dinner have my own place or a car.. I have begged my child mother for a lil help and she want. I can't find a job, my case is about 40 or 50 miles away, I missed a court date because I didn't have transportation no one would take me that far so they put an order for arrest out on me I talk to them that day and ask them to please reschedule me that I would try to find transportation for a later date they would not comply with me so after that I was scared I did not want to go back to jail for anything so I ended up not going to see my probation officer for fear of going straight to jail from there without even getting the chance to settle my problem I believe there were more professional ways that I could have handled it but these are ways that I have not learned or picked up on in my lifetime finally I got picked up by the sheriff's department at my aunts house I spent 170 1 days in jail I tried to get my child support jail time handled while I was locked up waiting to be sentenced they did not so I was left in the dark about what was going on with my child support case so I got out of prison with a warrant for child support still on me I've tried to call and work something out to where I wouldn't have to go back to jail but there are no other possibilities in their eyes it seems to me that they just want me to go to jail regardless I just want to be free I'm trying to get my life together to this day until this day I have been having trouble getting my life together I have three other children whom I've never had to pay child support for I don't understand why I am putting so much effort into one nobody cares about the rest so now I just sit at home day in and day out and try to figure out how I can pay my way out of the situation because without money it seems like it is all hopeless I need help I don't know what to do but I do know I am NOT going to jail if I can help it and as soon as I get a job I'll be more than glad to pay my child support up to date and if I don't recall I believe that will take it straight out of my check anyway so I don't see why man should be facing jail time when them taking child support from me is roughly out of my power is the way it goes sometimes I feel like I should go back into the streets and sell drugs again so I can get myself out of debt because these things are causing me to live in unstable life it is causing problems with me and the woman that I am with now for something I clearly can't afford I haven't made $10,000 in one year since I was 22 years old I am now 29 or soon to be 29 and my life is still a down hill drive I want to do what I have to do for my children but I can't do that without a dime in my pocket and I definitely can't do that from jail I don't see nothing coREPORT COMMENTS

We have one who got pregnant twice only to get 2 child support checks to live on and both girls never got to have time with dads she let when the first daughter was 3 weeks old the other was one night stand that's using the vagina to earn income and got away with it in New York State. guess she knew how to pick at least two good men that worked good jobs and could pay good child support. but ran both fathers in the ground for each daughter. and now thanks even know the one has left the home that she still should get child support. got away with 6 months of not reporting anything as usual . never got school records report cards sports events musical events birthdays. no health records to know how she was doing was not allowed to call the house or come up the house to see my child even though there was no legal reason she threatened to turn my daughter against me and tell her what I piece of s*** now that I was and then she would have no respect for me unless I gave extra money or paid for $400 cell phones Plus my child support. my 16 year old daughter and it pregnant and now she has custody of my granddaughter true I'm not allowed to see eithe . you can bet she's getting money that's what she sees in the eyes of her granddaughterREPORT COMMENTS

ex-wife makes more than I do, I take care of my daughter more than she does, I spend more on my daughter than she does. I live in a 3 bedroom house where my daughter has a room, and play-room. The ex-wife lives in a one bedroom apartment and parties most nights, but I still have to pay her $400 a month, and she still claims, and has the legal right to claim our daughter on the tax return.REPORT COMMENTS

My family is a victim of child support. My husband is a good father that has been there every step of the way for his kids emotionally and financially in daily life. His ex-wife came after him for child support. Due to the laws and the amount of child support she was awarded we almost lost our house. We are struggling to put food on the table while she is shopping for herself and going on vacations with her fiancé with my husbands money.REPORT COMMENTS

My child is in the process of being taken from me. My ex just filed for it.me and my ex split 4 years ago. My child is 5 and we never had a problem until now. My ex just had another child with her husband and now she's coming after me for support. I have my child Thursday evening through Sunday evening and the courts are wanting me to pay $400 a month. I'm a 90% disabled veteran who is a Single Father that has sole custody of 8 year old daughter from previous marriage. I have another 3 year old child from a woman that lives over 100 miles away, that I don't get to see or talk to ever, but the Cook County Illinois court makes me pay $1600 a month and leaves me and my daughter with $400 a month to LIVE off of. That is INSANE! I went from having a good home to soon to be homeless. Someone has to do something about these crazy unjust laws!REPORT COMMENTS
