Why does additional payments need to be paid by the father? The only things a father should have to pay half on is for medical insurance or medical emergency . Food, clothing, and other needs are already provided by both already during visitation. Which also should be 50/50. -

taking a man's license does'nt put food on his table or the childs if he loses his job due to lack of transportation, and basing child support on his gross salary is unfair. I had my child for two over nights for years and every other weekend until one day she noticed that it wasn't written in the agreement and took one of those days away for no reason but I am thinking she did it before I could go back to get it changed so she can keep getting that much more money. She neglects to provide me often with school materials for her education and tells me that I am ridiculous or over reacting. I lost 2 of my vehicles because I went through financial difficulties but it didn't matter to her, And come to find out the money I was paying for child care expenses didn't even go to the intended provider. She sent her to a free one for years!!!! I just found this out this year. Tell me how that's right!? She robbed me and I got things taken because of money she was using for herself!REPORT COMMENTS

I Demetro Bell has been a great father to all 5 of my kids and im 31! Its not right that a woman gets mad at the father for moving on in life and they just take out child support. Its not right for a man to have to save receipts to take care of his own child. Women really have to much power. The power they have, they dont have to work all they have to do is sit back and wait on the government funds its not right. I seen my daughter for two weeks out the month of not more for the first five years of my daughter's life. The mother of my child put me on child support with no heads up after she started dating someone that she had watching my daughter instead of me. I was forced to get a Job as a janitor making barley nothing to pay support for a child I no longer get to see and the mother complains about bout getting enough money so I'm still required to get my daughter clothes and other things she claims she can't afford. Yes, i agree with this. I have a friend who's ex purposely does not work because she can make a couple of thousands from child support. On top of that, he still takes them everywhere because she refuses to do anything because she is mad at him. I am also looking for a change in the amount of child support. It is too much in many cases and women use the money for personal wants, not for the child. There should be both a set amount based on average cost of child care. Both parents should have to work to meet their half. And it should not increase or decrease based on what the parents make. Europe has done this for years and they don't have all the scamming of gold digging women who can set men up.REPORT COMMENTS

My fiance was a welder and paid $2000.00 per month child support to his ex wife, voluntarily. He also gave her their home and a $35000.00 vehicle, both of which he had paid for, and all the co tents of the home and much more when he left. She then took $27000.00 out of their joint bank account that he had agreed to split with her. She does not and will not work. A few years ago he became ill and was finally diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I have worked 2 to 3 jobs to try to keep a roof over our heads for the last 3 years. After a horrible struggle, losing everything we had, I contacted our state representative and he elped get his disability hearing bumped up amd after all these years, he finally got his disability. The ex will get $1500/month and $25000.00 in backpay. He received his backpay, about the same amount and his monthly payments are about the same as well. She is trying to take his backpay. We owe my family money for helping us when i couldnt make ends meet. Her own grandparents also helped us, and we owe them some too. Other than that we wanted to buy a home because rent is extremely high, and i wanted to go back to school while we had some "cushion", so that i can earn enougn money to afford to live. None of this is possible if she gets his backpay. I have put off my own health concerns, waitinf for the funds to come in. There are medical treatments my fiance wanted to try, in the hopes that he might get better. He is o ly 37 years old. Also, he always paid his child support before he got sick. He might get a little behind when he was in between jobs, but she alwahs got at least $20000.00/year, and he still bought his kids clothes and one of them lived with him for a long time while he paid cnild sjpport on them. He is not a deadbeat. The child support worker has harrassed us and had him terrified that he was going to go to jail for being sick. It has affected his health negatively. Oh. I made him modify his child support when he realized that the monthly pahments were adding up on him each month (the lady from child support led him to believe that they were not) and he has not been allowed to spesk to his children since. We have no mo ey for a lawyer and never will if she gets all his backpay. His ex father in law nought his 16 year old daughter a brand new hummer for her 16th birtnday. His son drives a $30000.00 car. They are not in danger of going hungry and he made sure theh would always have a home.REPORT COMMENTS

I'm paying $212 out of every check I get toward a child that's possibly not mine, no DNA test, heck I didn't see the child being born. The system just slap it on me. A kid I once love now I hate with passion and I prays that bad things happen to them because this system is so one sided and the only way I'll get a break if they drove off a cliff. I am a disabled veteran that currently pays $850 a month for one child. The mother is married, employed and has a combined home income of $100k+ annually. Due to the unfair nature of the child support system I can barely afford to see my daughter and when I ask the mother for help with airfare her response is "That's a big no". So please tell me why I have to pay $10,200 a year for child support to someone who is living on a six figure income and due to that I struggle and can barely see my daughter. Before you judge me for being unemployed, it is not a choice, it is one of the cold hard facts of being a disabled veteran in the United States. I live in Columbus Ohio and I pay 250.00 Child support and ended up paying 2200.00 in back childsupport ...im a responsible father that pays his support on time, but I know the the money isn't being used for my child but the money is being used on her and not the child. My support order is out of Jefferson County (Golden) Colorado. I know for a fact and first hand experience with dealing with the child support system... It definitely needs to be reform I think that both parents not only one should be financially responsible for they're child. The mothers should be held totally financially responsible just as well as the fathers. Meanwhile the mother get all of the tax benefits and deductions. At the very least we should be rewarded with that for fully paying for our children. I have been taken advantage of for my kindNess while the mother has been able to sit at home and collect government assistance and blow her son child support on what ever she has chosen and now because I'm about to get married and have another baby on the way she has chosen to take me to court for child support and my lawyer tells me there is nothing I can do because of the way the system is set up I pray 1 day this will be revised she is currently looking at getting 700 a month on child. We need child support reform so bad! The current system is ridiculous. In an age where over half of first marriages end there should definitely be an update to the laws. Not only do the current laws put divorced men in bad financial situations (some so bad they force men to suicide or to abandon the child) but they make it harder on children born after. These bitter, ex wives trying to hurt/revenge men with child support payments they know they can't afford are bleeding into other lives. I have a unique experience. I had a son with a man and we separated. The judge ordered almost 500.00 a month in child support but I knew my son's father could not afford it. I settled for 350.00. He remarried despite peoples warnings she was an awful person and they had a child and divorced before the child made it to her first birthday. The ex wife manipulated him into agreeing to 900.00 a month in child support during a hard emotional time and he can not afford it. No where near it. Since then he and I have reconnected, married and had another child (the final). I don't see how he could afford to feed himself before we remarried much less have any kind of life beyond being a slave to keeping bill collectors at bay just one more week...now I live the struggle with him. The ex wife wants nor needs for anything (she also has wealthy parents who pay all her bills) and sends her daughter over in expensive diapers and clothing. She even had the nerve to tell us the child was allergic to Walmart clothing (not true). Meanwhile we struggle just to feed our kids or buy them socks when every pair they own has holes in them. The system needs reform. It is destroying the lives of good men who are trying to take care of their children and be a part of their lives. Dead beats don't care about child support laws. If a man (or woman in very few cases) decides he doesn't want to pay child support he's going to dodge it regardless of the law. Updating child support laws needs to happen now before it has dire consequences in the future on men and families.REPORT COMMENTS
