What about the women out there that were married and be nearly to death by one has been got divorced never asked a dime from that father just did that Father's Day out of his child's life and hers for the safety of both and then to meet somebody you thought was going to be the love of your life try to start a family with them only to find out that there a deadbeat that refuses to work and when they do find work they find work way beneath the means it which they can and the mother was crippled with cancer and an able to work but was taking care of her children one of which was disabled why shouldn't the father have to pay child support why the mother stays at home to take care of her disabled son or daughter and then what if she goes back to work against doctors orders just to pay the bills since a deadbeat dad won't but yet they still insist on being around the children and being in their lives that's not in the children's best interest it's not in the child's best interest for a man to be allowed around a child that doesn't act like a man that is not a good role model for the child that tries to buck the system so he doesn't have to pay a dollar simply because he doesn't like the mom anymore why the mom suffers through illness while she's taking care of a child with an illness and another child those children deserve a good quality of life and that mother deserves something back for all the crap that she was put through I think this article comes from too many men that don't want to get out there and work like a man my grandfather had five children and he worked his*****off his entire life to make sure that those children are taken care of and his wife is taking care of so she could take care of the children and then intern take care of him how about we go back to morals and values and if Amanda Sides to stick it somewhere that he should have to pay for that woman and child for the rest of his life because that's what real men do didn't y'all's moms or fathers ever teach you that life is not fair and that the hard road taken was a good and prosperous road not that easy conniving stupid way out try getting off yawls asses and getting a job and helping because most women will die to make sure that their children are taken care of while the man will take a job at McDonald's just so he doesn't have to pay to take care of his children and the means in which they should be taking care of the new child support calculation says $570 is all it takes to raise a child a month including medical insurance that's bull they have obviously never taking care of a child health insurance alone cost nearly that there are some women out there most women out there that will do whatever it takes to take care of their children and so what if they had different fathers some marriages don't work because some men like to beat up on women that's not something the woman shows people don't go into marriages expecting a divorce only golddiggers But then again I was people should be called women I should be called Whores and men or women that don't pay their child support shouldn't be allowed access to see the child because it's not in the child's best interest if the custodial parent doesn't pay for rent or buy food and the child gets taken away because their neglecting the child will of the father's not paying child support or mother is not paying child support then they are neglecting the child therefore not doing what's in the best interest of the child this entire situation has gotten out of hand and you people need to grow up all I see on here is a bunch of whiny Snively man that sound like 12-year-old girlsREPORT COMMENTS

Child support...it's a tough one. I pay child support for my 3 kids. I pay a LOT. So much that I could never be able to afford to live on my own. I can't even afford a one bedroom apartment much less pay for gas and groceries. Something needs to happen...I don't know what or how. My wife cheated on me and got pregnant while I was in Afghanistan. I came home to nothing and lost the custody battle because apparently serving your country is "abandoning your family". I can't make a living paying what I pay now for child support. I had to change jobs to make ends meet and do side work. My kids mother isn't working and won't work as long as I keep a job she is able to pay all her bills and car note, while I work day in and day out to make ends meet. I work as a plumber with the Union in Texas and just want this crap to stop I'm at a point that I mite have to get ride of my car and my home. If I don't get any extra money I won't make it. I'm a father that get my kids ever weekend and I buy what is needed as a father should do. I shouldn't have to pay child support and clothes, shoes, under wear, pay for there lunch at school, all there events not including activities. Where is this money going. No man want his kids to not have. I'm that dad just trying to be in there life and it's looking like I will have to stop doing for them other then pay child support soon. I think if a man is making his payments he should be able to gain a standard custody agreement without lawyers and court fees. There needs to be new guidelines. I am a mother who doesn't receive child support. My ex husband and I each have a child that are both ours together. But on the other hand, I have remarried and my husband does pay child support and lots of it. She works for dhr in the county that she recieves it. We have battled to have it lowered and it seems that she has the upperhand always. My husband and I have a child together, his 3, and then my 2, that makes 6 children. We are always struggling to make ends meet while she has moved on into another marriage. Her new husband works and she does not. My husband wants to support his children in every way, but we arent able to do things together as a family nor any extras during the year without it hurting our household. My voice my not be heard out of millons but coming from a family trying their best to stay afloat, there needs to be some way of making it work for both parents and not just one. The child support payee in most cases gets depressed seeing that the only thing he's working for is child support payments. After a divorce there is still a future for that person outside of paying every dime to child support. How are men/women paying high child support supposed to move on and take care of themselves or future families?REPORT COMMENTS

Child support is made to help support children. Completely cutting it off hurts the kid. I think that when a childsupport order is made they should enforce a standard visitation scheduale no matter what for the other parent such as every other weekend. Which can be contested if there is proof of abuse or neglect. Or modified if they want more. I am all in favor of this. My ex wife does not allow me to see my daughter even though I am not in arrears. My ex wife has convinced my daughter that I am a bad person and convinced my daughter not to want to see me. I have gotten remarried since my divorce. My ex wife does not want my current wife to be around my daughter because my current wife is black. I have moved back home to Louisiana from Houston to be able to be in my daughter's life. I see my daughter even less now than before since I moved back home. I am being treated unfairly and can't afford to take my ex wife to court to fight for my rights because I make 1900 dollars a month net. I am forced by the courts in Texas, because that's where I got divorced, to pay 720 dollars a month in child support. I hope that something can be done so that I can see my daughter. I have missed out on so many things in her life. I hope this law gets passed so I don't miss out on the rest of my daughter's life.REPORT COMMENTS

I don't think it's fair that a non custodial parent loses their license or placed in jail for doing the best they can, all jobs today require drivers license not "get here when you can". My bf started paying child support to a kid he never really met, he works his*****off for his money, but mind me he was 15 yes he made dumb decisions and signed the certificate. He's tried to see the kid but she keeps him away from my bf and his family so he's tried, but now after 5 1/2 years they want to start collecting child support from his pay checks, mother doesn't work, collects food assistance and health state aide, husband with job, has 4 other kids by other men. She said she will get a job and a car when it's the right time, she said my bf can sign his rights if he wants to her husband and they agreed, he paid for her lawyer and said now she's not ready, so we been waiting a year and still nothing. More money out of OUR pockets ; Let's have him work his*****off even more just so you can sit and wait for that monthly check that you don't even give to the child.REPORT COMMENTS
