Don't father children you can't afford. Too bad if you can't live comfortable. You have a responsibility to raise a child.

In Pennsylvania if I am to receive a pay raise I must by law report the amount to domestic relations Dept. So that the recipient also gets a pay raise in her child support allotment. Now with that said, if the court has already ruled that the x amount of money is sufficient for the child then why must any of my raises go to the mother and still be called "child support"

I am an active duty service member and father who pays child support and have never missed a payment. I also due to work haven't been able to see my child for almost a yr now because the system decided that since the mother filed for custody every 6 months that i must not be a good father. I had custody for 8 yrs with no issues and was accused several times of crimes I didn't committ and was proven not guilty by evidence every time. I have also been threatened and told by my ex-wife that she needs more money all the time for my daughter. I never needed any money from her. Due to her lack of finances she is completely supported by the state of Massachusetts. She has state insurance(free to her), food stamps, fuel assistance, cash assistance, and has said Shelia applying for section 8 housing until they finally approve her. This is not the American way, EBT SHOULD not have more people's attention than an ATM card. It is getting to the point that due to my rank I know the state of Massachusetts is going to raise the amount and that's not right. My success after the fact should not cause me to incur more debt because she took my kid out of my house. I believe and feel the custodial parent whom took the child should be solely responsible, and if a parent (situation permitting) whom has the finances and means to support the child without state assistance should be the one to have the child full time. All child support and alimony format matter should be abolished. If THEY want to leave a THEY want to take the kid (s) they they should be responsible for themselves and for the responsibilities they took on. They don't earn the others paycheck so they should not be entitled to any portion of it. Father's are parents not paychecks, and most of them, and studies have proven it, dad's tend to take better care in raising working job holders and productive members of our country. More than 73% of people on welfare are mothers, so us working fathers essentially are paying them twice. Ban all child support and give fathers are real equal chance for raising their kids. Make America great again by being equal again, in all aspects.

There MUST be a required receipt for all money used for child support. In Pennsylvania child support money can be used for anything other than alcohol, tobacco, and lottery tickets. Other than that the recipient does not have to account for anything!!

I was a single mother and I was fine. Men get shafted. I have friends whom had undeniable proof child wasnt theirs but just beause child conceived during marriage he was forced to pay. BS! And the mother was married to someone else and never spent money on child at all. Men are asked to prove everything in blood. Yet the women are held accountable to nothing. Again not all men mot all women but I witnessed many in this form.

While I agree that reform needs to take place, this petition was clearly written on fictitious opinions. $547 a month to raise a child? Who's kid is This? School lunches, school fees, daycare, clothes, food, recreation, car and gas (I didn't have a car until after my child was born bc walking to the store in snow is way harder with a stroller!), household utilities, (most schools make it necessary to have internet access at home). My child costs me way more than 547 a month (or whatever that ridiculous figure was!) Also, my child's bio father decided drugs were more important and hasnt seen his child in almost 5 years. I don't go after child support. If he stays away, I stay happy, so it's a fair trade. I agree, and personally know mothers that abuse child support. If you're collecting child support for 4 kids, working full time and still can't pay your bills, then something is amiss here! I've known a woman that left her child's father bc he was tight with money (all bills were paid) so she knew if she received child support he would have to give her money. He pays her almost double what the court ordered so his kids could maintain their current life. But, saying that remarriage stops child support is the move a bitter person. Remarriage stops allimoney not supporting your child. It is not the new spouses job to pick up your slack!

If you're a parent weather your income is small or large, mutiple children's, remarried or married, single, in proverty, or rich. You are a parent that have obligations to help support the child(ren) regardless. It has no excuses if you're orders to pay a particular amount each month.. That should stand no matter of the circumstances...you're always a parent. The system has always held stipulations unfair for the parent. If you can have one or multiple children by different women or men, remarries, change job, decrease in income or what may be. You are responsible for the support of the children. Single parent have to compromise on living arrangements, bills, supporting the child or children and fight to receive support from the other party is unfair. That's the only thing you feel you have to do( send in a payment) what about school supplies, health care, co payments, visiting school, running errands, mentoring the children, providing a place to live. Many dead best parents feel like that's the only thing to do is pay& the other responsibilities are yet left in the hands of the custodial parent to juggle alone. If you are a parent...it's always your responsibility to provide for your child in every area possible. The system doesn't care of the stipulations or situations of parents and may never. It shouldn't take the court's or the laws to help parents establish support of your own children. It should be nature inclination first tuition to do so. It wasn't the decision of the court or law to produce the child; it shouldn't be the decision of the court or law to determine when, how much, where, or whom provide for the child. Be held accountable for providing support in all instances for your child. Assist in being an active parent in the child(ren) life and support the child.

I'm a greatly appreciated of this petition! I am a single father whose pays child support for two child of two different mothers. Both have me on child support. My son who is 5, mother makes it very difficult for me to see my son even with the court orders in hand. Due to civil matters she knows she has the upper hand since I am financially unable to pay for all the numerous fees. They have government help, food stamps, section 8, child support, income tax. The government should let the fathers who pay child support be able to automatically file that child(dren) under the fathers income tax. What happens when the shoe is on the other foot and the father is the primary parent? How hard would it be for the father to obtain the same benefits woman get when it comes so court documents. Ban child support because we need to let it be know that good fathering shouldn't be hard even if separate households. Men have the same financial struggles this day in age as women do. Do make it hard and scary to be a great dad. It's hard enough we still have to be bound to mother because she will have that leverage over the father with the government ready to put a trying father behind bars. I just want to raise my kids with a stable understanding with the mother of my child and not live check to check. Can't show my kids a good life when I'm always broke. Plus i spend more money on my kids plus child support out of ever check! How do they expect the fathers to maintain without breaking his back? No MORE CHILD SUPPORT AND YOULL SEE ALOT MORE HAPPY AND STABLE FAMILIES.

Something really needs to be done about child the law is so screwed up and focused on paying the states. My husband is paying child support BY Default meaning paternity was never established on top of that the child is adopted. Now tell me whats fair about these laws!!!!

The current child support law in place is unconstitutional on many levels. Fathers are placed on child support many times without full verification of the paternity of a child, then once on child support if there is any period of time where the father is in transition he is immediately penalized and his license is REVOKED thus making it hard to gain employment and lastly, Fathers are paying child support to women solely because they gave birth to a child, not because they are actually the ones raising the child. My husband has been paying child support to a woman for the entire time we have been together and she only placed him on child support because she was upset that he was getting married. This particular woman has NEVER had the kids in her care and yet the state says there is nothing that they can do about it and she will continue to receive the payments unless we hire an attorney to file and stop the judgment from OCSE. We have notified OCSE multiple times of this fact and they refuse to investigate. So not only does he have to fund this woman's lifestyle, but then the kids are still in need each month and we have to spend additional money to address those needs. The mother does not provide any funds to the caretakers (grandparents) and they look to us often when things come up. I have the perspective of not just a wife, but also a single mother before I got married. I refused to put my daughters father on Child support because of the injustice that occurs and that I witnessed first hand. I did not want to be responsible for that even though my daughter's father is a dead -beat. He had other children and he too went through getting let go from jobs due to not having a valid DL, being terrified to help pick our daughter up from school because he could not legally drive, etc. Having this happen was of no help to me in the ways that I needed and he was going through all of that for $50 a month payments. I totally understand someone who has not paid in YEARS and has significant debt owed to the custodial parent, but in my mind anything under 15K should not be treated this harshly. There are good men doing the best they can and these rules provide no flexibility and no repercussions to women who are unjustifiably collecting child support out of spite.

What about the mothers who are in messed up situations far as has a restraining order against the child's father because of abuse? The father has not seen the child since they was 4 months old. The father is on child support but hasn't paid anything since he has been on and doesn't even attempt to pay anything. But wants to only see the child just to have any once of control over the mom. So if mom doesn't trust father with the safety of the child due to father's abusive background and mom don't want baby nowhere near him. Will fathers still be able to get visitation for the child? Cause visitation comes with paying child support and if there's NOMORE child support to be paid then the mother should have every right to deny father of visitation. At this point the child is 3 going on 4 and doesn't even know him anyways, so no need to come into his life now. What have you ever done for him? What have you done to prove your a great father? So for the good fathers I feel for but for the ones like the man I gave in the above situation I feel no remorse for and should not get the privilege of being a part of the child's life fathers like these dead beats should just give up their rights and that's when they don't have to pay child support cause they don't have anymore rights

I don't think that the mother should be always be awarded custody of the child especially if the child is male. There should be a positive male presence in the child's life. One that is responsible, working to support the child, spending quality time with the child and showing the child how to be a man.
