Child support is a ridiculous obligstion in all. My bm put me on child support 2006 while i was in Iraq. When I came home, I had no home to come to because she moved. Now she lives in a section 8 home wtih a guy and since then had two other kids. The guy lives in the house with her in a two bedroom apartment. He works from the house selling food from his truck. She gets child support from me and her first baby father(she has 4 kids total, 3 baby dads) but doesnt recieve child ssupport from her last baby father. She always come to me and asks me for money to help her pay her rent($108 a month). One day I seen her baby dad in a corner store buying 100 something dollars in lottery tickets. I called my bm and cursed her out. Not only am I paying child suppkrt to my bm, but I also pay for my child private school. To put salt in the situation, i am also paying for her youngest daughter private school as well because my daughter and his daughter is on the same bill. Chills support needs to be shut down. I was sent to jail October 2016 for missing a child support hearing. Plenty of times when I went to child support sobthey could reduce my arrears, my baby mother never showed up and she was never issued a bench warrant. The judge asked me to call her into court. I told the judge you cannot be serious. You put a bench warrant on me but wont do the same to her. This system is so damn broke and f'd up that i am one day going to kill myself. I do not see america getting any better. It is going to get worse.REPORT COMMENTS

To look at both ends to meet in the middle.im getting married in three weeks my fiance has a little girl that he never gets to see and he pays child support every single month on time because he loves his daughter but the mother ran off and lives 8 hours away got married and had another child she works her husband doesnt. My other half and I have been together for 12 years we share a child. He is an awesome dad. He had a set of Twins they are now 23 and he still has to pay 1200 a month for child support. 1 works and 1 has special needs. They never married. But when can he take his life back. He works so hard. While she collects money. He has another child that is 11. I dont want the money. Im now looking for the time he can spend with our daughter. I think child support should not be totally thrown out because there are some fathers who are not doing nothing for there kids which makes it harder on the mother. My child's father has not paid any court order child support since it was igniated in 2015 which is crazy! I work hard every day trying to support my child and he gets off FREE how fair is that? It's hard for single moms and these kids are not getting smaller, they are growing fast. Which in terms, that means bigger and more expenses towards the moms. Some fathers are good and are paying child support and the kids don't see the money. Everybody situation is different and the president needs to take into consideration of that before he makes a decision to get rid of it. WE as parents have to stand up against this bill for the ones who really deserves it. I pay $1000 a mth for children in child support and i still buy clothes and shoes as well get them during the summer as well as every holiday , child support is to detroy good fathers financially no matter what other obligations they may have. What get me is that the mother doesn't have to better herself at all when the father makes more she gets more and that is not right. These laws need to change, that's one of the main reasons people are in debt and another reason people are committing crimes. Child support has been the hustle for woman for years and no cares to stop it or even try to fix it. Lawyer fees are to high so whoever is paying the support continues to get screwed either way. This has gone on long enough and everyone with the power to change this always overlooks this issue and its a huge problem period. I feel that if you are grown enough to have a child you should be able to support that child with or without help, no one should be forced to help pay anything, better decisions should have been made and will be made in the future if this child support crap change or gets done away with. #banchildsupportforeverREPORT COMMENTS

The other kids live with her and her mom she has never worked a day in her life... We struggle to no end.. We also have a child together... Our bills consist of rent water and electric thats it we dont have new rides we cant affird insurance phones are anything... We have tried to get it reviewed and they denied it.. We dont have the money for a lawyer.. I understand him paying child support but not to the point were we cant take care our child... Have been to child support multiple times with the kids and with proof and they said they will not trump their own orders. How f******* stupid that? To Whom it May Concern, I am the wife of a man who was once a single father. When I met my husband he had joint custody of his three wonderful children. During the separation from his ex wife, she had received several payments of 700$ a month to help supply his children with the essentials they needed. It was a sad day when his ex wife showed up to court and claimed she had received nothing from my husband for two years and he was slammed with 20,000$ worth of back child support. Since we have had our bank accounts frozen, taxes taken, paychecks garnished and our credit also managed to take a hit from this chaos. Now here is the kicker. During their marriage, she had an affair, and got pregnant by another man. She asked my husband for forgiveness and he stepped up and claimed the child while trying to fix his family. After their separation he acknowledged the child was not his legally, and the biological father then began to claim his child. Tell me why my husband paid child support on this boy for three years. It wasn't until our lawyer decided to dig into his child support case that we even knew we were paying child support for not three but four children. I am disgusted at the states disability to do anything about the dishonesty of this, so called, mother. We are now married and have a daughter, because of our struggles due to this dishonesty, we were pushed to take a higher paying job out of state and leave his children in the sole custody of the children's mother. Of course with this increase of pay, so will her child support. Which is exactly what she wanted...REPORT COMMENTS

I am a Mom who can't work due to being pregrent if I could work I would but I would not make enought to support my children the father of my youngest is ordered to pay I have put it down for 100 a week to 50 a week but he always has an excuse not to pay and he all he has to do is give me 24 hr notice before he wants to see her I even let him take my oldest which is not his. I am a single mother of 3. My first 2 kids father is incarcerated. My 3rd childs father threatened to kill me and had a permanent restraining order. My oldest lives with my mom(had to and now won't give her back) and she gets government benefits, which is what I pay back. Child support is enforcing me to pay that and after rent, electric, gas, car insurance, and groceries I can't even afford a phone. I pay all my bills for my other 2 by myself and don't get food stamps or any other government assistance. This is ridiculous, I can't even buy my son a pack of Pokemon cards and we basically eat the same foods over and over again because it is all that i can afford. I was charged for a increase modification ( $274 /MONTH TO $485/MONTH for a 18 year old who has graduated HS and has a full time job attending community college. I have been paying child support faithfully for at least 16 years, why do I have to pay for a grown man with a job? Who is getting that money.....HIS MOTHER!! Yes I agree I have one child out of wed lock and two others that I'm the sole guardian for and I pay 455 a month for the one and insurance and am responsible for 75 % of his medical bills . I cannot afford to do much else for the other kids I have custody of . She is married and they both work . Yet the court only uses mine and her wages and she doesn't let me see my kid. Yes! To reform! Child support is based off old laws and is in dire need of reform. Not just on a monetary basis but fathers should have access to their children as much as the mothers do! I have heard my step son ask why his father doesn't have a say in spending more time with him "because he's my dad and should be able to just pick me up" unfortunately mom doesn't allow the child the right to want to spend time with dad bc "that's not what the judge ordered" and that's not something step son quite understands. It's sad. Dad has the time, mom won't "allow" it. And the child suffers. But why? Bc the more time dad spends with his children the less money mom can collect for "child support". He lives below his standard since he left the marriage and she lives quite nicely in a 260000$ home brand new cars-hardly struggling. He can barely afford to rent a home sufficient enough for himself and a boy and a girl. Something needs to change!!! Fathers shouldn't struggle to support themselves and provide for their children and mothers should be REQUIRED to carry secondary insurance WHY bc if you do the math it's cheaper than paying half her share in out of pocket (1800$ is her half and to carry is half that)...at least in this case! I conclude that we do need a reform and it should be case by case...mothers take advantage of the system and that needs to change!REPORT COMMENTS

I am a good father. After school, during the weekends, holidays, and summer vacations I spend time and money with my son, other than the mandatory child support. Eaven I buy my kid school clothes, and supplies. Etc. The mother has a good paying job drives a Mercedes benz I drive an old ford truck. My kids mom has 4 kids from 3 different man. And collects child support from the different fathers. I am re married and have another 2 kids and wife I have to support. I now live paycheck to paycheck. But lord is great because I work hard to provide for all of them. My son is now 9 years he would love to live with me, he always tells me he rather live with me. It's hard enough living check to check while I watch my kids mother's use the money I give to do as they please and yet still demand I do more for my kids. I totally agree. It's some hard working Father's that want to be part of their kids life. It hurts me to see that the child support money is being used to buy weed, horse hair, beer, cigarettes, blunts, Mother's get their hair done, club with the money and etc. I can go for days to bash these dead beat spending Mother's. This reform should help those men. Yes I feel they should pay something, but everyone has to live and if the woman chooses for the man not to be in the children's lives then they shouldn't get anything. The child support amount as far as I've always known is already based on both parents income and is eligible for review every few years.
