Don't forget it is OUR money, our children's futures and the future of this country are in jeopardy because of this mess.... A few people made money out of this, but the majority of the people are losing everything they have. The banks and the Government need to be accountable for not using the bailout money right and instead using it for their bonuses, pay raises, internal favors and their OWN benefit!!!REPORT COMMENTS

The current system is not working. We need enforcement and compliance placed on these banks that are simply not modifying loans at the rate they could or have been perpetuating to Congress and the media. Please take notice, no one wants to face this process, let alone hear the lies spread about "Joe six pack". Signed: A taxpayer helping to support the bail out of these crooks.REPORT COMMENTS

After an income loss of 50,000 a year, we called our lender for a modification. They told us we didn't qualify, and could only count $300 a month for our debt. They said they couldn't count the second mortgage, private loan, stgudent loan etc. even though this is debt we pay on every month. They told us they could not help us. We have 25.00 a month left over after our bills are paid. We need help with our mortgage. We do not want a hand-out, just help to stay in our home.REPORT COMMENTS

I have begged for a modification from my lender for over a year. We had to use our credit cards to make ends meet. This resulted in huge debt. We have our modification now, but the credit card debt is still with us. If we would've been helped sooner, when we first notified them of our income loss, this could've been avoided.REPORT COMMENTS

Nine plus months of heartache, trying to get a modification. Giving people false hope is worse than no hope at all.REPORT COMMENTS

I currently have a short term (6 month) "modification" from my lender, HSBC, they would not put anything in writing...Now I am to call in to see if they will extend my "modification" for 18 more months. I had to be 6 months past due and subject to foreclosure before they would even work with me. What they are offering me is not a "loan modification" by definition.REPORT COMMENTS
