This is really insane situation for most of "normal" Americans like me who's been working hard for many years, serving community and country. I don't want to lose "American dream" that I still have since our family came to America for better life. New regulations should be developed and mandated ASAP to save millions of households who are in crisis, especially in middle class. Without helping middle class, there's no future in America. -

Wells Fargo has been stringing us along and providing false hope for over 9 months. We have complied with the HAMP program, the bank has not. Please help us save our home-we aren't looking for a handout. We only want a modification that we can afford. Our income was reduced by 50% do to the downturn in this economy. We have a conventional 80/20 mortgage-this recession is affecting all walks of life. I was the middle class, and overnight I became the poor class.REPORT COMMENTS

you (the government) gave all our taxpayer money to save the banks, you'll never see the money back from them, yet they refuse to help the borrowers, after they irresponsibally and in some cases illegally conducted their business to entice their bs deals to us borrowers. All whil eraising all of our taxes and destroying our home values. thanks. NOW, FIX IT!REPORT COMMENTS

the banks are not helping with loan modifications for people who pay on time but have lost value on their home. Their ways are forcing people into foreclosureREPORT COMMENTS

Any defered interest should be interest free going forward. Now the lenders can make very low interest rate mods but they add the defered interest to the amount the overall interest is based on. Doubling up on interest.REPORT COMMENTS

I agree with the intent and spirit of the attached Petition. I, however, do not agree with creating additional regulations...they don't work fix in the exisitng HAMP what has gone wrong..ie everyone is adding their own additional qualifications and underwriting requirements - this is true of Freddie Mac and this is true with the individual services. I prefer the KISS method - FIX existing HAMP and do not allow additional qualificaitons / exclusions on top of it. Further, I do not agree with forming another additional oversight. Even with the exisiting multiple "oversight" contacts nothing is standardized, nothing is transparent, and no one is being held accountable. What is needed is ONE oversight office and yet as I write this I have no idea how this can ever be achieved - the problem is so pervasive, I am overwhelmed. I do not agree with allowing a payment of less than 31% of gross monthly income. If this is not affordable to some, most likely home ownership is just not prudent at this point. There were quidelines laid out for principle forebearance, but again, these are not happening in the real world - and additional quidelines and qualifiers have been imposed for this by GSE's such as Freddie Mac as well as an additional layer of quidelines created by services. Principle FOREGIVENESS, while sited in HAMP guidelines, is a pipe dream in the real world as well. The trillions of taxpayer (read out of my pocket) dollars via TARP giving to banks, the billions given to Freddie and Fannie, the trillions to save the auto industry, the insurance industry, the S & L's and the billions given to the non-profit organizations in order to fund cousling for those of us facing foreclosure ....well it's just too much money. The saying that you can not legislate peoples behaviour is yet again proven. You also can not fix something simply by throwing money at it. Legislation action that I do support is the repealing of the 2005 Bankruptcy changes and authoization of the Bankruptcy Court to order "Cram Downs" on Mortgages. We all know that the real estate "boom" was created by smoke and mirrors and greed and now we need to deal with it and move on. "Cram Downs" and Bankruptcy will evenly spread the burden of "dealing with it". People do need to do jail time over this. We must not allow what brought us to this point continue.REPORT COMMENTS

I owe more than twice what my home is worth with no cooperation from Countrywide/Bank of America. I would like to retain my home but see no hope. All my life savings went into the purchase of my home and that is gone. I have declared bankruptcy. Again...I see no hope.REPORT COMMENTS
