WIDOWS NEED HELP NOW! Kent Conrad and James Lockhart....think that Soc Security should be MORE FAIR to Widowed Women! Conrad thinks widowed women should GET THEIR OWN BENEFITS and 3/4 of their DECEASED SPOUSE'S BENEFITS! This model for Soc Sec would keep Widowed Women OUT OF POVERTY!!! REPEAL: WEP & GPO for Widowed Women WHO TEACH IN MISSOURI! Tell Congressmen to PASS: HR 973 & S 1651. OR....Time To Correct the MATH FOR WEP....per Kevin Brady's HR 711. -

This is extremely unfair. I am receiving SSA as a divorced spouse. I later worked and receive a small pension. Basically I am being penalized for devoting my time as a wife and mother. I woud have had a much larger pension.REPORT COMMENTS

Balancing Social Security on the backs of public workers who in many cases worked full time jobs before taking a public serve at job who also worked special employment outside of their public service and who continued to work either full time or part time after retiring should not be punished for changing jobs, doing this is unfair, unethical and un-American. These people including myself have worked and contributed to S/S as well as their employers who have matched those funds are entitled to what every other American citizen gets that put into S/S, paying for the 46 million who never put a dime into the system is insanity moving S/S into the general fund some 50 plus years ago and then stealing from it like it was the governments personal ATM maxchine is nothing less than imbesslement purpatrated by the very politicians that were elected to protect S/S. Dan Rostenkowki of the House Ways and Means came up with this bad bill and it is also noted that this congressman also when to jail for theft and corruption but this government see's fit to shore up its entitlement program on the backs of the people who actually put into it. Hey Government it's not an entitlement to those of us who put into it, it is a Benifits. These politicians take everything, they enter public service but they get to keep all the benifits that they put in and then become inriched through public service the time has come to eliminate this provision and get those who never contributed to S/S off the rolls that they are not entitled to get. This Government Pension Offset is regressive in that able bodied people that either want to continue working or in many cases have to don't because of this confiscation of wealth. Enough of this government tyranny.REPORT COMMENTS

There is no justification for reducing the social security benefits for spouses who worked in professions whosevEMPLOYEERS choice to not participate in SS when spouses who did not work at all do receive one half of their partner's SS benefits. Teachers in public schools did not have a choice; however, they did contribute in supporting their spouses just like a non-working spouse did.REPORT COMMENTS

This is an unfair practice that discriminates against Government employees who have earned a pension and wish to continue working for the Government in a different career path due to financial necessity.REPORT COMMENTS

My social security benefits earned in non-government work should not be reduced because I worked for the State. If I had continued to work in non-government, my SS benefits would be even higher. But DON'T PENALIZE me for that time. WEP and GPO are unfair and have no basis. Please repeal both.REPORT COMMENTS

Please pass this bill. I am a retired LEO and worked part time all my carrier in order to pay into SS and earn my SS benefit. Now I have learned that I might get a little over $300 per month. At that rate I will never come close to recovering what I paid into the system.REPORT COMMENTS
