We should not be penalized. We paid into the SSA and our respective govt. annuities. For the Govt to deduct from those respective annuities above what we contributed thereby penalizing us Almost $5000 annually is simply not fair. We contributed to those annuities expecting to receive an annuity based of contributions. To then summarily deduct 5K annually is unfair. Nothing was said when we contributed . Please re-examine the basis and make it right. .Sep 12th, 2016Someone from Leesburg, VA signed.

I have paid in to SS for 29 years OUTSIDE of the CSRS pension years, all 54 of which were as a first responder in the public safety profession! I earned and have met the significant income benchmark in those years, yet I am being penalized for long and faithful service to the local, state, or federal Government by having a reduction in my benefit. I ask that you remedy that issue by repealing the WEP/GPO. We're not asking for a handout, but rather what we earned based on the rules when we started.REPORT COMMENTS

I paid many more than 40 quarters into SS in addition to a full career with Federal Law Enforcement. During the non-FLE time I owned a business and paid both ends of the SS tax. It is so unfair to cut my SS payments as a consequence of my giving a full career to work for Federal Law Enforcement.REPORT COMMENTS

Those of us who have paid into Social Security should not be penalized and have our benefits reduced because we have worked and paid our way and earned another pension. Many of us are or were first responders, placing ourselves in harms way. Do something for the people who have followed the rules, paid their taxes, and asked for nothing.REPORT COMMENTS

I always held part-time work while on the Police Dept & paid taxes, have worked since retirement & I'm still paying taxes. I received my propaganda letter from Social Social security years ago informing me my quarters had been met! Had I not paid taxes I wouldn't deserve Social Security, but I paid...fair is fair! I will have to work until I can't anymore just to make ends meet!REPORT COMMENTS
