WEP and GOP need to be repealed. With inflation and no raises to speak of in the past years creates a hardship on widows. My husband paid into that social security amount for years and a number of them spent fighting in Viet Nam, which proved to be his cause of death from Agent Orange, Congress needs to make this fair for those of us that are Civil Servants. You did it for yourselves so why not do the right thing and make it fair for civil servants because the truth be know, we made our contribution just like you do. As I previously mentioned, this law is in my opinion illegal. If you take money from what the people paid for, it is called stealing. For far too many years, the government has slashed my social security benefits economically. The original bill punishes the middle class workers who allow the near bankrupt system to operate giving monies to non-contributors etc including illegal aliens. I have 40 quarters, as required by Social Security for full monthly payments. (I moonlighted with part time jobs almost all of my Civil Service time), but because I am a retired Civil Servant, my Monthly SS is offset and I only receive a small pittance from SS.REPORT COMMENTS
