GPO unfairly hurts widows and widowers. Many of us will have to continue to work after age 66, apply for SNAP benefits and/or sell our homes because we cannot collect spousal benefits. -

Please overturn these provisions retroactively to the time they originated. if I can be honest and blunt, they amount to theft from people who are struggling financially. Thank you.REPORT COMMENTS

Please pass this bill. I worked my whole life and owned businesses, but my social security is peanuts. I worked for that money it's unfair to punish someone who has put into the system. Thank you for listening.REPORT COMMENTS

I just saw on HR 711 website that the WEP Reform bill is off the table. Can you believe this Congress. They really could care less about retirees.REPORT COMMENTS

As a public employee my future retirement is negatively impacted by the WEP and the GPO. Due to starting my public employment at the age of 39 my teacher's retirement will not be much as those who start at 22. I spent 21 years or more paying into SS only to learn that it will be reduced to nearly nothing. Then to learn if I become a widow I will not get any benefits that my husband has paid. In my opinion this is governmental thievery. I should get my share of what I paid into and also get my share if I should become a widow. Retirement looks bleak from my point of view.REPORT COMMENTS
