Keep the Government out of the Physicians offices. Until you have lived a life with chronic pain, you really have no life and there is so much stigma attached already!! Let the Physicians decide and allow them to treat real pain patients how they see fit!!REPORT COMMENTS

The government shouldn't have this kind of control over doctors. The FDA is taking away the doctors ability to do their job successfully which is providing back some quality of life to the chronic pain patient so that they can get through each day. How could people support the FDA's actions? This is an unjustified power play.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a chronic pain patient. Why don't you just make euthanisia an option for us? Or don't you want that burden on your shoulders? By taking our pain medication away you are leaving us with little choice other than suicide. But then that doesn't look like your fault does it?REPORT COMMENTS

Those who have degenerative discs that press on nerves can experience chronic pain. Also those with leaky gut have chronic inflammation from antibodies going after antigens in the system! Lead is one metal that is known to cause nerve pain known as parasthesias! Doctors fail to look for the underlying cause in many cases!REPORT COMMENTS

This has to stop. Not only has a doctor said I am "malingering", he went on to say I have a somatoform disorder and need to see a psychiatrist. Another doctor repeatedly said there is nothing wrong with me. I've been dealing with daily chronic pain for 19 years. Not long after this doctor stated these things, I was (finally) diagnosed with a genetic disorder that has no treatment and no cure; in large part, it is responsible for my pain. So much for me making this up and being crazy! Now give me my pain meds.REPORT COMMENTS

I am not a criminal nor is my doctor. I have chronic, sever pain from two incurable illnesses. This will not go away. You are not qualified to decide what medications I should take. That decision should be between a doctor and their patient. You have no idea what some of us go through daily just to get up and take a shower. I don't get high from my pain meds. I get enough relief I can function. Please talk to some people in pain to see what we go through. You may be in our place one day. We have to deal with enough in our lives. No one should have the right to sentence another person to agony.REPORT COMMENTS

Note to "rulemakers:" Educate yourselves! Pain medication taken by those of us who suffer from 24/7 chronic pain does NOT make one high. It does NOT provide one iota of pleasure. It SOLELY provides a measure of relief from intense and relentless 24/7 suffering. We are NOT drug addicts! We are simply humans dealing with unremitting and frequently truly agonizing pain. We are worthy of and deserve compassionate care and effective treatment.REPORT COMMENTS
