STOP the DEA from causing needless fear to our doctors, pharmacies and causing HARM to legitimate pain patients! Florida has been severely driven overboard with the DEA crackdown and this has left so many legal patients suffering without medicines! People suffering legitimate pain are committing suicide! The DEA is Causing this!! The government NEEDS to investigate the DEA! America used about freedoms and being compassionate to it's citizen's but now the citizen's are suffering and NO ONE even cares! Pain medications are made to relieve legitimate pain patients suffering, 100 million of them! According to the National Institute of Health!REPORT COMMENTS

My name is Karen. I have had 3 Triple Fusions. Two on my neck and one on my lower back. I have been in constant pain for YEARS! Recently I have been unable to get my prescription for Nucynta filled due to the restrictions the DEA has put on the pharmacies in my area! It is ridiculous to limit the pharmacies to a limited amount of pills, so that when someone NEW comes in with a prescription, it is unfillable. I am suffering constantly, trying to work despite it all. I get ONE Hydrocodone 10/325 every six hours and that's it. I was doing relatively okay with the Nucynta at 100 mg. 2 x a day. I am sick of trying to get the Nucynta and will ask my dr to put me back on Morphine.....I asked to be taken off of it due to the lack of energy I experience when taking it. BUT....at this point, I don't have a choice. I am sick and tired of being selected out of a crowd as being a problem due to my pain. Go after the ones who abuse this stuff...and leave US alone!! I am not a criminal and I am tired of being treated like one. Karen RobartREPORT COMMENTS

My husband and I are both severely disabled from chronic pain caused by injuries we both have suffered. This Petition hits the issue right where it lives. Doctors have negatively and unfairly labeled us, when they can clearly see by x-rays CT Scans and MRI's that we both have significant injuries to our bodies which would obviously cause pain. For doctors to refuse to treat this pain is nothing short of cruel, and for government bureaucrat bullies to assume that people aren't suffering is equally cruel. I would love to give these cruel doctors and the bureaucrats our pain, unmitigated for even one week. They would soon learn quickly and without any doubt that people do indeed suffer from life-threatening pain. No one should have to face this kind of dilemma in what is supposed to be a civilized country such as the United States. Just because the doctors and others don't have pain doesn't mean other people don't have it. They assumed that, since they don't have pain, you don't have pain. As I said, I wish they had to suffer the chronic pain so many of us go through, and the frightening prospect that, at any time, that pain may never be mitigated because of human ignorance and cruelty. Clearly, the AMA could do a lot more to stand up to this issue, and stand up for patients in legitimate, provable pain. Those who don't suffer in chronic pain don't know how lucky they are. Instead they misjudge and mislabel those in pain. Shame on them all - both the doctors and the bureaucrats who perpetrate this cruelty. Also, some doctors subject patients to worthless, expensive injections which the doctors know full well won't relieve the pain, but the doctors and clinics make a lot of money with this cruel diversionary tactic. God help us all, for I'm frightened this will only go from bad to worse.REPORT COMMENTS

It doesnt even stop thr police from stealing drugs out of evidence rooms that have surrveilence cameras in them. Oh wait they are above the law? WRONG!!! The D.E.A. Should are schedule 1 incompetent morons. Their record of failure is monumental. Who would think that they should be the ones to solve what is a very real problem with prescription drug abuse. By punishing legitimate patients they will only exacerbate the problem. Where are all the right wing groups that cry about government interference when the government has clearly stepped forcibly between a patient and doctor? It is time to stand up people and assert our constitutional rights to liberty and persuit of happiness.REPORT COMMENTS

4/17/14 return my pain dr for a pump fill and increase from 0.8 to 1.0 before my pump reinstall, i was at 6.0 with never receiving any relief during the whole duration of 18 months, i informed him that i cannot sit, stand, or lay, because of the pain is too great, his answer was so outrageous, i had to laugh, for the first time in years, " your lower back pain is caused from your neck, once that is controlled, you will feel alot better, in the mean time, i want you to get a consult from a neuro, so we can rule out surgery and go forward with another pump implant for your lower back" ???? i asked him "why i would even think about another pump, when my pain and suffering only become worse with the one i already have? and its coming on to 2 years and i have cut open twice by you? and i would like to know if you consider me a LTUD or a DRUGSEEKER? "no" and do you believe the evident damage shown on my MRI? and do believe that i am in a great deal of pain? "yes" so all you can do is increase my pump in baby steps? "yes" i am lost and losing my grip, this dr has lied to me, time and time again and he flat out refuses to give me any relief and according to the pump manufacturer's rep, he is the best, so he and his staff can enjoy their jobs, whistle in their cars on their way home, enjoy their families and lives, while patients like us lay on the floor in the fetal position wishing we were gone.....P.S. correction: on my first post i stated that my back was fused which is incorrect...it is my neck that is fused from c-2 to c-6.. i tried to edit , but didn't work...GOD BLESS all of you..REPORT COMMENTS

I think we can all agree that the capricious withholding of necessary medication from anyone is wrong. It would be considered outrageous to withhold chemo drugs, insulin, epilepsy medication - from anyone suffering from conditions that these medications would alleviate. Both the WHO and the CDC support pain medication for chronic pain and other conditions that cause severe pain. It is barbaric to purposefully make people suffer when there are safe and effective medications to reduce or eliminate suffering. But... many of those drugs are off patent my friends. As always, follow the money.REPORT COMMENTS

Well said Penny H. from Springfield, OR. Stop this madness now!! Please!! People in their 40's, 50's, 60's, or older do not bounce back anymore after multiple surgeries or no surgeries. It is a FACT of life. You get old. Our bodies become frail. Even if there are no surgeries involved. Disease happens. It sucks!! Life is meant to live to the best quality we can. If we are inflicted with trauma, then we seek help, that's why we are supposed to have doctors to treat and CARE! Why does the DEA not get it? God help us all including the DEA's parents that brought you all into this world. Shame on you and all those involved in this madness. WTF!!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

How many signatures does it take, how many stories of pain, how many suicides are needed before someone with authority takes the lead to change this downward spiral of horrible medical care. What happened to the compassion to treat the elderly, the disabled and chronic pain patients? Mr. President, take a stand today and turn this around now. No more excuses. Give doctors the authority to treat and prescribe medication for all patients in pain. Do not let one more day go by without addressing this concern that affects our service men and women, athletes, accident victims and so many others. My 63yr old mother with multiple spine fractures has been a victim of this type of treatement. And was discharged from her pain clinic when she asked to be taken off of oxy and given something lower. The clinic over medicated her for years. A situation I don"t think would have happened had her PCP been able and or willing to treat her pain. Pain clinic labled her a drug addict after she suffered a broken arm, hip and spine and asked for something LOWER than oxy for pain. Why? Because being treated at the emergency room violated her pain contract! She spent 5 days in hospital and is still not healed. Had to make regular appreances at a clinic for pain meds instead of being treated by her PCP. What next? Droves of nursing home and hospital patients being required to go to pain clinics for medication to ease chronic pain? I am outraged.REPORT COMMENTS

I suffer from ruptured discs, severe sciatic pain, osteo arthritis and fibromyalgia. I have lost my job, had my car repossesed and had to take my son out of college. Doctors experiment giving me meds for diseases I dont have and they dont work. The only time I had relief was with oxycodone 5 mg which made it possible for me to return to work. But after 3 months they stopped giving it to me so I'm back laying in bed with no signs of surgery cause they say I', chronic now. These doctors play with peoples lives. I also broke up with my boyfriend because it was'nt fair i felt for him to stay with a woman who could'nt go out and walk without crying and who could'nt be intimate because of pain.REPORT COMMENTS

My doctor of 25 years, after treating me with pain meds for 10 years without incident abruptly stopped them when he needed to renew his license. Now the Governor of MA is banning new pain meds approved by the FDA to "help" the heroin problem in this state. The only winners are the heroin/drug dealers. While the patients in long lasting, life altering pain may only be .01% of those asking for pain meds, we should have a better solution from our doctors, government leaders and pharmacists. Any answers for those of us in Massachusetts??REPORT COMMENTS
