Physician's refusal to treat patients' pain is becoming a monumental problem in America. It has reached the point where Americans must speak out against the DEA policies and against physicians who do not have the courage themselves to speak out against policies that deprive people of treatment for pain.

This is a major problem that needs to be addressed. By providing options for people in severe pain, they are less likely to abuse alcohol or seek illegal drugs to deal with the pain.

Please DEA, stop the cruel, relentless punishment! How is this morally right? Do you DEA have plan B when you become inflicted with injuries, trauma, diseases and oh yes CHRONIC PAIN!! Water therapy, vitamins, psychologists, steroids, nerve blocks, etc.. all useless. Give it a try, you'll be drug seeking too. Oh that's right, no plan B for you all. Just pain relief from all the warehouses full of narcotics, weed, you name it. STOP this right now. You are not the law as our constitutional rights state. You are not GOD but the evil Lucifer that's going down too someday. You then shall pray for help, keep that in back of your head 24/7.

I have had 2 doctors since 18 years old they understood when I walk in doctors office or ER I Am IN AGONY SO YES I AM DRUG SEEKING & until the pain is managed, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS & I am not a nice person when 3rd degree with ACCUSATIONS< AND NO HELP I walk in doctor with 100 pages of medical proof, they do not even read because they do not want to know and deny pain medication because DEA will attack. I'V3 I have crohns disease, 2 fracture verttbres from car wreck, and victim of ignored medical and surgical damage nearly dying from infection 2x and causing severe damage from infection laying on sciatic nerve over year, add small bowell resection and carpal tunnel and pelvic and female parts damaged with internal laser damages that shocked surgeons trying to repair and since Arkansas suspeneded longtime doctor, threatens every single doctor writing pain medication, I am disabled, bedridden and can barely shop & can't walk my dog. I am in pain and my life is controlled by pain, and BM that pour out with no control. NSAIDs caused ulcers, Opiates gave me a life, job and hope, now gone just waiting to lose the one thing that I have left & hoping I can bare the pain. This drug war is nothing but DEA BS to keep a job when they could not win illegal drug war. I have written everyone and NO ONE Gives a DAMN about Chronic Pain Sufferers until doctors and patients start suing the DEA, STATES and medical boards, NOthing will help. All it takes is one highly public jury trial Win & attorney's will jump on band wagon and stop the illegal attacks on doctors & discrimination of pain sufferers. I have hard time blaming Doctors when every single doctor on suspension was known pain medicine provider & this STATE is overboard, i.e. veterans hospital doctor, pain clinic in clinical trials, dr. who demands healthy lifestyle and quit smoking to be patient. Each suspended, shut down and medical board now has on short leash so who knows how long they will be allowed to practice if they don't cave. Not counting numerous abandoning patients after threatened. Amazing Heroin addicts can go to methadone clinic & get narcotics with no judgement no problem but I go to ER as last resort BEFORE DEATH TO GET OUT OF AGONY WITH 100 pages medical records in hand proving all & get threatened by security for requesting different doctor after refused treatment. So CHOICES: LIVE IN NON STOP AGONY or illegal street drugs if can find & afford OR Kill MYSELF to Escape never ending Pain. ANYONE with better idea let me know. I GAVE UP WASTing money on doctors. And YES YOU BET YOUR*****I AM DRUG SEEKING, IF I CRAWL IN YOUR ER OR make an appointment with some new doctor who within 2 minutes WRITES SCRIPTS FOR EVERy dangerous useless drug safe for them to prescribe, & DEADLY for me NSAIDS: heart aTTACK, ULCERS, ETC: BIOLOGICAL: INFECTIONS, IMMUNE SYSTEM SHUTDOWN: antidepressants warnings from suicide for most teens, elderly to serious complications. OH BUT Opioids Side effects: with

I have been through this myself with doctors afraid to give me what I really need..I was in a car accident and had a cervical operation for three herniated discs and one bulging. The dr told me that he could only perform on the worst two herniated discs. So now im stuck with two discs that still are given me terrible pain and these Drs. Look at you as if you're lying or something just to get drugs. It stinks yes I personally know people that turned to heroin to take the pain away..seems like nobody cares anymore. And you're absolutely right it's all because of the DEA..they have these poor Dr.s in fear of them including the pharmacy's it stinks!"

I know people claiming that doctors discriminate and it has nothing to do with the patient since they pick and choose at random

Is it posible that the patients denied meds for chronic pain are the ones that the state is paying for? Is this the real problem if so?

I have a friend that is suffering with a herniated disc and scoliosis and is about to be disabled just because no one will recommend surgery or give her anything to deal with her pain. Where is the care? I care. What can I do?

It's sad how for the past 4 months I cannot get my pain medication because NO PHARMACY OR PHARMACIST will fill them anymore after being on medication for 10 years!

My doctor and pharmacist mention how they fear the DEA all the time and they aren't doing anything wrong. Why then do they fear the DEA you may ask? Well, when the DEA does an audit they come in with the SWAT team wrecking a business before they are guilty of doing anything inappropriate. Audits are fine, most reasonable people wouldn't object, how about they do them more like the IRS instead of using tactic of fear and intimidation. Stop applying the law so unevenly that one doctor to the next doesn't know what will trigger the DEA busting down their office door? Come on. It is time for Michele Leonhart to go, she has mismanaged the DEA since 2002 now. Enough!

I have had over 200 attacks of acute porphyria. I shake, have broken my back on four occasions from seizures. The pain of just one attack can drive many to suicide. It is known as one of the most painful afflictions known. I also have rheumatoid arthritis and even worse, avascular necrosis in both femurs. During my last attack a huge snowstorm hit the East coast, preventing me from making the six-hour drive to the pain clinic. I wrote them a desperate letter...I was hallucinating, in full withdrawals from a large dose of methadone and having all that is a porphyria attack. I recently got a letter dismissing me from the practice for "inapp. email". If you pass gas in the office-you are out. If you have tatoo's-you are out. WHY??? INSANE governmental judgement of reasonable medical practice. Well, thanks to all the policy wonks who want to save me...I'll be as dead a a can of tuna in..oh..three weeks. Thanks, DEA.
