I think we are treated like garbage. I just went into pain management for this very reason. I thought there was an end in sight; my children would have their mommy back. But no, the pharmacist acted like a dea agent questioning me about why I had not filled another medication (non-controlled) where I got it etc.....really not his business but my dose was decreased and is had not run out yet. After an okay by the doctor to fill, he continued to grill me. When I went to get said script everyone in the pharmacy was staring at my tear stained face ...probably thinking I was upset about not getting a fix. Never mind is was crying because my doctor just yelled and threatened me because the pharmacist questioned him making him angry. I have seen the doctor one time, had to verify by psyche evaluation that I was low risk for abuse, all because I have depression. Well why wouldn't one be depressed after losing their last parent recently and having to face a life of chronic pain. All other avenues being exhausted, I need a multidisciplinary approach as no one is really one siZe fits all. This has been a nightmare!!!! We are human beings and should not be tortured!!!!

There are over 50 million of us, all with the same story of mistreatment. It's time to do something!! I could have easily brought a personal lawsuit against my doctors, insurance company, and employer, but no lawyer would touch it!

I have had back problems since i was in my teens, i am 43 now,,,have had many injections 2 surgeries that didn't work, they wanted to do a third with no guarantee..so when i opted out..they cut off my meds and are sending me to a pain clinic that is now doing injections again..which always make things WAY worse for a week and then quit working after the STEROID absorbs only to do it all over again. i am now stuck in bed most the time and can't do the things i need to do to take care of my family. when i was on pain meds..I functioned..i never felt high..just back to normal. I only need one pill a day to function..but no..i have been denied medication and treated like a drug addict..left to live in eternal pain and suffering? Are you guys out of your minds? Can you come over and help me in and out of the tub..put my shoes on..get anything i need from the waste down carry everything around for me take care of my kids and get them to band, scouts, etc?? this is ridiculous! If all i were seeking was a way to get high...don't you think i could've already done that? REALLY?? Something has to change. At this point I can't believe people have the audacity to wonder why so many people choose to self medicate, smoke marijuana or anything else that anyone would offer them for relief! What choice are you really leaving us with? And just because I can go in and have an intelligent conversation with a dr, about my condition and which medications work for me and for what reasons..ie..flexiril for spasms, naproxin for inflimation, and percocet for the constant pain.Does NOT make me a drug adddict! I also know that flexiril can only be taken for 20 days least risk heart failure, and the accetominophine can cause liver failure, But those steriod injections!?.. They cause tissue deterioration..dried up capillaries INCREASED pain and only a few days relief. Well I also know that I can use natural herbal remidies to cleanse my liver and to watch my diet as to keep my body toxin free and cleansed. I have been studying my body and issues and medications pros and cons for more years than any of these dr's have spent in school and practicing. Something HAS to change! People can not function in everyday society suffering from chronic pain. It is both physically and mentally exhausting. you feel like a burden to your family and somedays wonder if like is even worth living under these conditions. I AM NOT A JUNKIE OR A LONG TIME DRUG USER! I AM AN AMERICAN CITIZEN THAT IS IN CONSTANT CHRONIC PAIN, AND AM IN NEED OF MEDICATION..COMPASSIONATE HEALTHCARE FROM A NON-DISCRIMINATING HEALTHCARE SYSTEM!!

I've had 10 major surgeries over the last 9 years due to a near fatal car accident. I have fought for my life during said surgeries on multiple occasions. Now, my pain clinic is telling me the DEA is telling them how much pain medication a patient is allowed to take per day. Their limit on morphine (what I take) is 120 mg per day. I currently take 360 mg per day... I am worried sick about what I'm going to do, how I'm going to function, how I'll be able to support and provide for my fiance and daughter. The DEA needs to quit labeling chronic pain patients as addicts. This needs to change!

It's ridiculuos how much some of us have to suffer while trying to find a viable solution to our pain....in the meantime, I wait and isolate myself in my miserable life until sometime can or will help!

WOW, Just heard on our local news, our old Governor Corzine's son committed suicide, He was previously being treated for a chronic pain condition and a mental illness. I don't dount for ine second that man ended his life so he would no longer have to suffer i. pain. This is what the DEA is pushing chronic pain sufferers to do. Shame on them! You now have the death of an ex-governor's son on your hands, And don't for one second say it was do to a drug overdose, or blame a doctor for this. I to suffer from a chronic pain condition. It is living hell what I go thru everyday thanks to the DEA and the unconstitutional treatment I am receiving. Those if us that suffer are not junkies, We are responsible, good people who just want to have a functioning life, How many more suicides is it gonna take before you wake up?? If I ever get to the point where I actually take my life because of the excruciating pain the DEA has caused upon me, I am having a notorized letter that states who the people are to blame, It will NOT be my pain doctor, who is to afraid to stand up to the DEA and provide me the narcotics I need to relieve my pain, My death will be on those who have caused me unnecessary pain and suffering, That would be the DEA, FDAand the government. I will pray my family will go after all of them with a major lawsuit, not that it would bring me back, but at least it would give them some financial stability, My heart breaks for the Corzine family, Before Governor Corzine left office, he made sure to make medical marijuana legal in NJ, Thanks to our current governor, it has taken years for the program to go i to effect, Years someone who suffers in pain may not have, Even though it is now legal for pain sufferers, you pretty much have to be on your death bed to get it, Shame on you Givernor Christie, I am urging those in congress to please put a stop to this madness. So many if us are suffering and being treated like dirt because of our ILLNESS. Do you think we enjoy living a life filled with pain, knowing there are medications that work?? I have tried everything for my pain. I finally was able to be put on opiods a few years ago and was able to get most of my life back. Well that has all been taken away thanks to those in the DEA. I hope to God one day they feel what living in excruciating pain is like and having every pain doctor hang up on you or look at you like a junkie, I have never felt so defeated in my life, The DEA has targeted the wrong people in their fight against drugs on the street that are being brought into this country illegally. Yes, there are a few bad apples (doctors) that abuse their power. Why on earth are the legit patients being punished and treated this way?? They are endangering my life and over all well being, I have contacted several lawyers about filing a class action suit against the DEA. I have medical records the size of TX for God sake, I live and breathe pain so bad I want to stick a crow bar behind my spine and yank

I live in debilitating pain everyday as I have pseudo tumor cerebri, RA, and possible Ana negative lupus. I feel like I am treated unfairly when going to the pharmacy as they make me wait even though my prescription is not early.....i went to the er with urinary dysfunction and the Dr did not even examine me because it was listed that I take vicodin for chronic pain, after I stuck up for myself I had a ct scan that showed kidney stones and I had a kidney infection......but if I would not have had medical knowledge then what....i could be dead.....thank you Obama and all of you politicians who are ruining healthcare for people like me.....i have 2 year old twins, I can barely care for and I can barely keep my head above water but I take a narcotic so my life no longer matters? Something needs to change here........

I have been in awful chronic pain for 14 years my back is so messed up in a wheelchair , I have had a time getting pain meds every since my doctor moved away that i had used for many years . I have never gotten my meds filled early or taking more than I post to use to have to go to the er regular cause I was in so much pain untill my doctor that moved away put me on 80 mg oxycontin that was almost 2 years ago .I did so much better was able to do things outside the house also clean my home . I am in bed now most of the time because doctors are so scared to give u much pain meds . I think if u pass all your drug test and have followed all the rules that should count not look at everyone like they are drug seekers . Where I live now family doctors are stopping giving pain meds which is crazy . Don't judge me or my 70 years old mom like we are not in bad pain please . I would not do this but if some people that has bad pain they will do whatever to get relef do u blame them ? I am afraid its just going make things worser doctors doing this . You know its ok to go get a bottle of booze and get drunk then lot will fight and do stupid stuff like get under the wheel and drive .. They should not even sell booze what I have seen it do to people . I want to be as active as I can be if its means having to take pain meds to help me . My mom doctor just told her he was not giving pain meds she is 70 am really scared for her if she dies its on your hands .. She could even get up in the morning if she did not have something for her pain . Dont punish the ones that is just dependent on pain meds ..Sorry for any writting mistakes having to lay on my side to write due to pain . Yes I am getting pain meds now only 30 mg oxycontin which does not help when I was on the 80mg they worked good , Its my body I know how I hurt and know not to take more than I should . What good is life in pain when it could be helped . Will someone hear a Chronic Pain Person Please .....God Bless u !!!

I can't nor accept why victims of pain are refused medication. Elected officials and FDA we are pleading for our lives. We are not abusers. Decent hard working people pleading for a productive life; to be able to sleep, walk, grocery shop, work in our gardens and hold down jobs. None of which can be accomplished when one is in horrible pain. FDA approves medication to control blood sugar and pressure, thyroids and give a man an erection. I have been put on 6 newfangled meds, no relief of pain, just horrible side effects. I?m told to learn to live with my pain. I?m a step away from losing everything I have worked so hard for. It's totally debilitating emotionally and physically. Do you want to lower the SSI disability recipients? Many want to work, but unable due to pain. I am so scared of how I am going to possibly go on living. FDA stop!!!! Stop punishing us for others abuse. Reach in your hearts for compassion, empathy for one day this may you, your mother, your father suffering. Signed: Tears swell with fear and pain.

1st you get a person addicted to a narcotic to relieve their pain ~ then you cut them off from being able to take that drug legally AND You Offer NO SUPPORT as to how that person has to cope with their day to day moment to moment life ~ THIS IS A SICK BLUNT IGNORANT BIASED APPROACH to dealing with people who suffer from chronic pain. This must be Changed ~ and SOON.
