I have already given up because of how I've been treated by doctors.I am leaving my wife and 5 year old daughter behind, but I believe they deserve a better quality of life than dealing with me in serious pain all the time.I hope you all have better luck than me!

Enough with making patients live with chronic pain. Treat individually instead of as a whole. It took 2 years before I discovered I didn't have to live with my pain..and now I have a constant battle to be able to live life happily and pain free. There is no reason an individual with credible evidence documented should have to struggle and live the way our Dr's are now making us. Disgusting is what it is! Shame on you!

The DEA needs to go after the corrupt doctors and illegal patients and leave the real chronic pain sufferers alone. Instead they just attack everyone.

with all the testing that can be done like x-rays and MRIs,the drs can tell who is truly in pain. It's when they give them out like candy that has caused so many problems that now the rest who truly need them will now have to suffer thru a long and painful rest of our lives. If they would just read our results again(DEA included if need be)then a little compassion would be nice. Please give us back our life!

what kind of nation is this when a human-being is told they can not be helped by a medicaide approved pain management doctor if they decline epedural injections. If the injections were accepted and administered only then would the doctor prescribe pain pills. Of coarse without admittance from the doctor, they obviously could be in more pain from the injection and could possibly suffer disc death or worse total paralysis. It's a known fact that only a limited amount of shots can be given because of doing known (further damage), then they wont push to give more shots.Obviously if the doctor offers an epidural there is justification for the paitient seeking help.

I have been suffering back pain since 1986 and put off operations until 6 years ago because it didn't help 5 of my friends. Finally, after 3 back operations, L2 to Sacrum bolted and fused together, I got into Pain Management. After little over a year my doctor "doesn't feel comfortable" with my meds. That's too damn bad, I can't stand for more than 15 minutes without having to sit of support myself. I can walk sometimes a block, rarely 2 blocks without sitting. Sometimes I go 2 days or more without sleep because of lingering pain but doctors are petrified of the DEA ,Feds, etc. also I found out why pharmacies run out of pain meds all the time because there is a quota limitation on manufacture and distribution. Why if you are physically handicapped is it so hard to get proper treatment? Seems doctors only are interested in making money and not in quality of life of their patients. I blame a good part on our government. What can we do to change this mess? The last time my back went out I was kneeling next to my bed, face down and could not move for over 8 hours until found and another hour for paramedics to straighten me out to put on a stretcher. The whorl time it felt like a knife buried in my spine and someone was twisting it. Unless you experience disc deterioration or pinched nerves you can't possibly imagine what it feels like.

I have suffers from chronic pain for 13 years. I have gone through all of the negative things that go along with chronic pain. And the sad thing is I'm not talking about the pain. I'm talking about how I was treated. Like a drug addict,Dr.shopper ext. I remember one time I was having a rough time, so I called the Dr. For help. I was told my medication could not be renewed for 2 weeks, and I was told to just take Tylenol. How absurd, to get me through until I could renew my medication. A lot of Dr.s just don't understand chronic pain.

Please allow me to get the pain medication that is ordered legally. I hate to see doctors limited to what they could prescribe because of worry about licence. I have been a chronic pain patient for 10 years. Thanks to sea and fear I am now bedfast instead of being able to watch grandkids or go to store because it back pain isn't treated I can't move. I have had failed fusion, pheriphral neuropathy, interstitial cystitis, fibromyalgia, I.b.s. after 30% colon resection.chronic gastritis and ulcers with heart burn. I changed to d.n.r. status because I can't get meds even with prescription. I would rather have 3 years with grandkids than 10 bedfast. Shame to suffer knowing that help is available and most would not make their dog live life this.

Thank you for forcing my legitimate pain management doctor to switch all of his patients to different types of pain medications, regardless of the success they have had with 6+ years staying at the same stable dose that allowed them a fraction of relief from the unlivable, unbearable chronic pain. I guess I should feel lucky that I wasn't forced to try a drug as dangerous as methadone (as the other people I talked to in the waiting room were), but the one I started today has done nothing, zero, zilch, to take even the edge off of my pain. I am exhausted, but can't sleep because of the pain. Due to my body being used to my old pain medicine (dependent upon, not addicted, mind you) and the new one not being effective, I am now suffering with not only a level of pain that I can't handle, but additional feelings of sickness from the medication switch. The new medication clearly states in the prescribing information that it takes days to build up and become effective, but my doctor's office can't do anything to help me during this hell that I may be forced to suffer indefinitely while we try different medications and wait for them to work or fail, because he is afraid of the DEA's threats. I will be going to the emergency room tomorrow as my doctor instructed me if the new medicine doesn't magically start to work, and I'll have to call an ambulance because I literally cannot get out of bed. All I can do is lay here and cry and try to figure out why chronic pain patients are being sacrificed for government gain. Congratulations. You are causing suicides with every legitimate patient that you affect. I wish chronic pain on everyone that is involved with bullying doctors who follow the rules and help patients who would otherwise kill themselves or be bed-bound to lower their pain and become able to do amazing things like get dressed and shower. I was stuck in a bed for years, and I refuse to go back. I won't go another year like this. It's not worth it. I hope you're happy. Thank you for taking away the pathetic excuse for a life that I had, where I was ecstatic to be able to take a shower.

This is exactly what is going on at my house(all of the comments below are a carbon copy of what is going on with my ex-wife,we got back together, but did not remarry). Her diability states that she cannot stand or sit at for more than 15 minutes at a time. So,she has to be lying in bed for the most part.Really, does that sound like anything remotely desribing any kind of quality of life? The do no harm bs that dr.s vow not to do,they do anyway.Like some say, they have good dr.s that care about them, but say that there isn't anything they can do,they're lying. My ex....after being taken off her meds, had a severe siezure that put her in the hospital for 4 days.I atribute this to be taken off her diazepam that dr.s have been prescribing her since 1995 for deep scelatal muscle spasms. Here in Tennessee, you must now go to a physiciatrist to obtain. So when she tried to get an appt....they couldn't get her in for a month or so.Plus she went through heavy withdraw from the 3 opioids that she had been presribed to her since 1996.What kind of "DO NO HARM" is that? These kind of dr.s are cowards dressed in white. When she tried to get into a pain clinic she was trated like some kind of crack whore, the Dr. saying she was nothing but a doctor hopping drug fiend, when in fact, any time she saw a doctor for pain medications, was through a referral. It's all on record. But for the love of money,he put her on fentanyl patches but were not enough for her to be able to walk down the block and back.Is this the "do no harm" vow that they take really on their agenda.I think not...

Does anyone get it yet? Suicide, suicide, suicide. That is EXACTLY what the government wants. Too many people in the good ole USA. If your rich, you'll survive, but if your poor, you will die, cuz theres no inbetween and this is the end result. I have been in the healthcare field for over 20 years and busted my body up taking care of people from ALL walks of life and just like everyone else, multiple surgeries, not able to walk, and yet managed to get back on my feet with help of pain medicine and PAIN MANAGEMENT. I am not a nurse or doctor, just a pee-on that does the HARD, PHYSICAL work. So I do NOT make good money. But I despise the doctors including my PM doctor who is foreign and came to this country supposedly with good intentions and an opportunity to help the sick, either rich or poor and now after being in PM for 14 years and same dosing medication tells me he cannot prescribe my medication I have been on for the last 9 yrs because "they" say he is over-prescribing. DISPICABLE!! I am not depressed, but frightened for myself and family. I am frightened to know where I have been and may be back. No work, no money, and no QUALITY OF LIFE! So if you want to off yourselves, believe me, the government, healthcare officials, etc.. will not CARE. This is the America we live in now. Get it yet?
