I have gone to dyfus for the 2 nd time even the cop thought they would help considering his new fiance had her kids taken for drugs and child abuse and my daughter didn't want to go home cause she was scared!! The worker didn't even ask my daughter and made her go home and said she would investigate tomorrow !! I guess she couldn't work late it was 5 like that was our problem she took three hours to get there!! She called me the next day and lied about everything they said and is leaving them with the child abuser!!! And the abusive father also and there both addicted to drugs on top of it!! But they treat me with no respect like I'm the criminal I just want what's best for my kids and help!! Sorry just asking for them to do there job?!?!?REPORT COMMENTS

My name is mary guarneri and Curently have a open dyfs case in burlington county nj.I dont even know where to begin, im currently going through the same situation.they judge you by your appearance,past history,ext.everything sounds worse on paper.ive been told my time is up.i go to court next month,they are pushing towards adoption.i am a good mother, ive made bad decisions in the past but since this has happend ive done everything they've asked and some.i feel like they are trying to break me, iam almost there.its almost like they are are trained to bring you to your knees,and push the knife a little deeper, in hopes that i will give up and sign my rights over.they say that they dont want to take my boys away from me, then if thats the case why push towards adoption?ive done all youve asked!they say "well your time is up"and your extension is up and the law is the law.The boys are in good foster homes that want to adopt them,why put them through all this?They've manipulated me into thinking that they're probably better off where they are.that I would never be able to provide for them as they do.at this point i dont know what to do, or where to go for help.Im Not sure what to do anymore,I want nothing more then my boys to come home.unfortunately we don't have much money so I have to have a public defender.at the end of the day,my case gets swept under the rug.to them im another unfortunate case Of how the system works.What do they care? They arent there kids,im not there whife,daughter, or cousin! At this point Ive lost all faith that i once had and would need a miracle to help my situation! I need help! I have been fighting for 5 and a half years to prove that we did nothing wrong and that the judge and the DAG were most likely paid off in my case. The DAG has said on 2 separate occasions in front of witnesses that my son was a business deal. I need someone to help me and to look into my case. The records show no wrong doing by myself or my husband. The records show complete bias by the judge. DCPP went judge shopping to get the outcome they wanted. This is insanity! We are trying to help our daughter who just gave birth and we were told "DYFS coming to your house, You better be ready to put on a show! We going to make you jump through hoops!" That was told to us by the DYFS worked who interviewed us and denied us. Very involved case, in process of attorney action. Trying to stop them from taking baby from hospital to put in foster care. I agree with most people here that DCPP has to be monitored better. I did get my kid back after dealing with a lot of non-sense with DCPP. I do want it to be known that most of these post read are not helping the case of monitoring DCPP any better. More then half the post are blaming DCPP for the parents misdeeds. Take responsibility for your actions, buck up and comply with their orders. It is a lot easier than trying to explain everything away in court. Accept the help they give you and stop being so resistant to their demands. Until you can get your kids back you will be their prisoner and the sooner you realize it the faster you will work to getting your kids back home. I truly feel the hurt from having kids taken away. It took me 3 years of dealing with them, the first year of me being resistant, to get my son back. It's our kids and their view is if we really love them we will do whatever it takes to get them back home. Anything less than that they will see as not wanting to fight for your kid. I do not agree that they remove kids for any minor infraction they find, as my son was suspected of being abused in foster home. This was frustrating to me because he wasn't taken because of abuse, but for neglect due to my excessive drinking problems. So let's change the laws on why kids truly need to be removed from homes. And have stricter judges that fight for the parents. Once you get to court all odds are against you because everyone in the court room ultimately works for the same company, the state. Things need to change in this department, but more importantly parents we need to fight just as hard to get our kids home. Find support and pull yourself up by your boot straps and show them they can't get us down.REPORT COMMENTS

They are violating my parental rights. My ex is now a heroin addict (went from coke, to pills to crack and now heroin - never stopped doing drugs) and STILL has Custody of my daughter. Dyfys set me up to take custody and even when I won my appeal, still have yet to have her returned. Now, they took her under the state and NEVER told me!! I need a lawyer who is willing to fight them. I have a lawsuit as I've said, My parental rights are being violated. Who checks up on them?! Who makes sure they are doing their job! My ex is NOT ALLOWED to see his other child. The maternal grandmother WILL NOT allow him to see the child. Yet Dyfys says it's not a problem? That person is wrong?! He's a heroin addict, his ex has been in rehab since November and he has not even been into a program!! I want a ****ing answer. WHO CHECKS UP ON DYFYS?? Oh and did I mention, not only did Dyfys not inform me of what was going on, they also did not inform the courts. I was in court twice and no mention of this was made. I want to go to every media outlet and every single person who holds an office. I want an answer. People need to stop allowing these people to take our babies just because they do not like us!REPORT COMMENTS

In my case, NJ DYFS relied heavy on the past, lets hear the truth, which NJ DYFS does not want you to hear and does not want my childhood records brought up at ALL! As a child, my mother became addicted to drugs, heroein/crack, and my Great Grandparents cared for me. But they soon contacted NJ DYFS for me because they were being evicted. NJ DYFS came to get me but I would not let go of the bed post. After a long talk with my Grandfather, I agreed to go into a NJ Foster home. In the Foster home. the NJ Foster Father sexually molested me / physically assaulted me repeatedly. I told the NJ DYFS Caseworker during a visit, the only thing NJ DYFS did was move me to another NJ Foster Home. The 2nd Foster Home was nice. Soon, NJ DYFS placed me into the custody of my Great Grandparents in a Seniors Only Home in Camden, NJ. Because I was not allowed there, the Senior Home found us an apartment in Abblett Village Camden, NJ. After a couple years passed, my Grandfather died and my Grandmother moved, leaving me in the custody of my Prostitute / drug addicted mother, on Welfare Card, in the nations poorest city. I started to skip School, because I was scared and the only white person. I was never put into 9th grade by anyone. My Mom was in and out of jail and I kicked her out because she was stealing everything I did have. I living alone at 14, not in School, on Welfare, in a Housing Project in the middle of Camden NJ, and NJ DYFS was no where to be found. I lived for 3 years in Abblett Village, alone, not in School, struggling, surviving and watching my mom deteriorate. She died from her addiction in 2000, at the age of 36. I have endured and seen countless horrors, that one could only imagine. NJ DYFS keeps its secrets for a reason, they destroyed my entire life but wants to use it against me? I have tried repeatedly to the NJ Family Court of Gloucester County to have my childhood NJ DYFS records released but NJ DYFS objected and Judge Mary K. White denied me the release of my records. Why don't NJ DYFS want my records released? Because everyone will see that NJ DYFS broke the NJ STATE LAW and the NJ Court wants to protect one of its departments.REPORT COMMENTS

In New Jersey, An accident occurred, where there were no purposeful acts charged, NJ DYFS has not followed the NJ State Law by trying Reasonable Efforts FIRST. I was incarcerated, when my son Richard was born. His mother medically neglected him from birth for 9 months with no vaccinations, where he suffered 2 ear infections and undescended testicles. When she finally sought medical care, the Pediatricians call NJ DYFS. NJ DYFS took my son, as well as his mothers following child. She did not comply with DYFS and Voluntarily surrendered her rights with the initial persuasion from NJ DYFS. She surrendered her rights so her mother could get custody and because I do not have family to take care of him. While Incarcerated, I requested visitations with my son and NJ DYFS objected. The Judge granted me 1 hour a month visitation and NJ DYFS did not fully comply. The very 1st visitation, the NJ DYFS caseworker tried persuading me to voluntarily surrender my rights through entire visitation, not applying Reasonable Efforts like the NJ State Law states NJ DYFS must provide. At Court DYFS reason for not applying Reasonable Efforts was I was incarcerated and had taken the classes they would have provided, this is no where in the NJ Law! While incarcerated, I was in constant contact with NJ DYFS, showing and telling them that I wanted to be a part of my sons life, not gain custody. DYFS was also informed I would be released soon but NJ DYFS still filed for Termination, stating they exhausted their efforts, not Reasonable Efforts. While incarcerated, I was not transported to Court for numerous Court dates, even though NJ Court and NJ DYFS knew right where I was and I was even notified by the Court/DYFS that I had Court. My Public Defender didn't even communicate with me properly and didn't do significant things for my case that I requested him to. I contacted the NJ Bar about him. I was released and was visiting my son weekly. Visitation went great, I have videos that I requested both Lawyers to use, but they did not. NJ DYFS brought an allegation forth to the Court that I tried to abduct my son from the bus stop but absolutely nothing happened nor anything else but why was it brought forth? My Public Defender provided wrong Court dates for the Termination Trial, which the Judge excused. My Parental Rights were terminated by the NJ Court, which NJ DYFS has EVER tried to do, Terminating Rights apparently is there Reasonable Efforts. Then I was told I can appeal, Office Parental Representation Lawyer Peter Milligan contacts me stating he is doing my appeal. I request 3 times to speak with him before submitting appeal, Peter agrees. Then I receive a copy of the appeal in the mail but didn't speak to Peter before. I then call him and his supervisor, to which both agreed that he should have met with me before submitting appeal. Appeal then was denied, with a sorry. NJ DYFS reports are full of lies, where caseworkers from Gloucester County NJ, Michele Johnson, etc. twREPORT COMMENTS

I go to court and because my witness was nodding out they made me do a urine. For some reason the test came back for THC I can't smoke weed never had never will. Now they have me living in fear with threats and false accusations. Threatening me. My boyfriend of 20 years was found bleeding from the head. Malnutritioned, dehydrated and exhaustion. He's still homeless. He's not aloud here at all. I am scared if I sneak him in my kids will be taken. Can they treat me this wayREPORT COMMENTS

Can't stress enough how much they misuse the power they are given. Some parents are genuinely bad parents, but in a lot of cases children are taken from good homes with loving parents & placed in horrible homes where they are beaten and neglected! This time in a child's life is crucial to how they will grow. They destroy families and must receive commission by how many lives they ruin. My son has been harassed at school and at home and suffers emotionally by their visitations. He was perfectly well taken care of by his parents both emotionally and physically. DYFS case workers lie, drag out their services and add no value whatsoever. Most of them are ethnic, enabled by affirmative action in education and have come from abused homes themselves. I find this government agency a complete waste of tax payer dollars.REPORT COMMENTS
