If we have to get drug tested to get or keep most jobs, then It would help weed out those on Welfare using their money for other things other than their children.

There are people that need help in hard times, and there are the ones that rip us hard working people off everyday, it is sad that many people on welfare could care less about bettering them selfs, because they keep using the system to rip us hard working people off...DRUG TESTING WOULD BE A VERY BIG START IN FIXING THE PROBLEM....I have seen people abuse welfare, throw those montly parties after receiving there benifits, head to the drug house with food in hand to exchange for there drugs, and everone of these people that do this are PRO'S AT WHAT THEY DO......PEOPLE NEED TO WAKE UP AND RELIZE, THAT ALOT OFF DRUG ADDICTS ARE BEING FUNDED BY WELFARE.......

Able-bodied people receive more in government assistance than I do, and I'm disabled (SSDI). I work part time as well. Let's pass a new law that says every person has to work x amount of hours in the community in order to receive any kind of help at all. Let's help those who are willing to help themselves.

Some of the people on welfare do so much better than us, I am currently laid off and have a foster child and we still do not recieve any assistance. What will happen when my unemployment runs out and I still cannot find a job? I know they system will come up with some reason why "we" will not recieve anything just because I was one of those people out busting my butt for the last 15 years to support the "druggies" and they get all of the assistance...What Bull!!!!Goverment needs to reform the system!!!!

It is terrible that people are buying drugs with their money and getting foodstamps, section 8 housing, help on the electric bill-- no one said we would all be rich, but we are in America and FREE. Even Freedom cost- thanks to all our military personnel. Now if you want more than beans for supper, get a job. If you're wages are too small, you should get some help- the Bible teaches us to care for the underprivileged, but if you are doing drugs-- no help.

I work 72 hrs a week. 32 if which is at a grocery store. I see too many poeple come in and buy beer, cigarettes and candy. Naturally they pay for the beer. The candy is with food stamps. If they can afford cigarettes and beer, then they can afford the candy. Why should my hard-earned tax dollars pay for their candy?

All I can say is...those in the "system" are better off than the middle class americans who actually have to PAY to live. We're giving these people millions a year...I'm positive we'd save a ton if we just handed them a $3 urine test before we send them a check in the mail.

I think we should take it everyone step further and make all welfare a "debit card" system. You take the debit card to the store and give it to the clerk scanning your items before they scan them and all things that are not basic things needed to sustain life should be rejected. I am talking about things like steak, pizzas, ice cream, candy and the like. These things are not needed to live, if you want things like that then you need to bust your butt and get off welfare.

Let's say I get the privilage to be drug tested for my paycheck; why not drug test the ones that are applying for governement assistance. The people who DO NOT have an issue with it will gladly offer a urine specimen. I wonder how quickly the waiting line at the welfare office would clear out if a sign & warning was posted "URINE or UR-OUT LAW". I made a comment to a fellow nurse one day at work; when it was such a beautiful day outside; I wished I was on welfare on a day like today. I had to apply for help when I was pregnant with my 1st child; I was averging 50-60 hrs at work, husband worked part time construction & part time at an auto body shop. After the 3rd false labor episode the doc said to go home till after the baby was born. To add to the stress level we were supporting my husband's little brother trying to put him back in to high school after missing 2 yrs. As you can imagine my worst nightmare not being able to go to work. I applied for help & thank God I did get help; but I would have given a specimen then & I'd give one today. But when people abuse, give false information, & cheat the system are the one's who give this petition a backbone. So to conlcude I'm all for the "URINE or UR-out law". Thank you
