I absolutely a million times agree with this on going crisis in Massachusetts!! Their needs to be some happy medium, a guideline at minimum, that clearly states specific hard evidence proving at unquestionable doubt a child is in fact unsafe at home that all workers should be held to gather and provide before a judge and jury. We don't sentence alleged convicts to death sentences that have questionable doubt in their cases, although a parent who has some ludicrous nonsense rambled about them acting in a neglectful manner...them.....it's socially acceptable to sentence to a double life sentence without grounds of hard evidence we all should be held too or even to what is TRULY considered a "Fair Hearing" with a selected jury and trial. Unbelievably saddening how that works....one death sentence granted to the parent the 2nd one gifted to the child....and for what? The liability? The possible Lawsuits? wrongful possession of Power/Control In regards to some ego trip?........For whatever the unjust reasoning of every 2,000th sisignature, that deemed it necessary to sign in the state of Massachusetts alone...I think I speak for us all when I say, Hear our cries....Notice the trend.....And hope by the grace of God, that you one day, don't make the same vindictive enemy.....Jun 30th, 2016Someone from Auburn, MA signed.

I am the maternal grandmother of my 2 grandchildren, 8 and 3 1/2. They were taken away in November 2014. My grandson is still there, switching placements (i refuse to call them homes), having had 51A filed for sexual abuse, bullying, stealing his electronics that his uncle gave him, separated from his little sister for 6 months after they yanked him out of placement that had violated the placement terms and conditions, lice, impetigo, poor hygeine, 1 visit a month from Nana (me), because they "don't want him thinking he may be coming home". My home and my sister's home are the only homes he's ever know. I am paralyzed from the bra line down, spinal cord injury in 1973, and I use a 3 wheeled electric scooter. I raised my daughter by myself while working for a disability rights group here on the Cape. I retired as executive director in 2006.I co parented both my grandkids with my daughter, supporting all 3 for 7 of my grandsons 8 years of life. I have my own home, 3 bedrooms now, and live alone. DCF child&Family rejected my homestudy stating too many admissions to the hospital for bladder infections, 3 psychiatric admissions, and my unqualified physicians assistant stated I " would need a live in companion to help me parent my grandson". DCF bought it hook, line and sinker. All of the above issues have been resolved;, the psych admits were due to too much spassticity medication, depression and anxiety my grandkids were taken, the bladder infections come with the territory of having a SCI, but mine have been resolved with a new flush regime that doesn't affect my ability to parent. I've lived alone since she 18, which was also the year I was permanently paralyzed. With the exception of a 5 year marriage, I continue to live alone. I have been ready, willing and able to take my grandson home, pretty much since they were taken out by DCF. My grand daughter is in another state with her biological father (junkie recovering or so he says) and won't let me speak with my grand daughter and has yet to set up phone calls between my grandson and grand daughter, per direction of DCF and the MA regs of child welfare agency guidelines, NOT TO SEPARATE SIBLINGS WITHOUT RECOURSE. HERE we wait for the fair hearing to take place. It'll be some where in the hectic future of dcf. It could be a week, it could be a month or year. DCF dies not follow their own guidelines, neither does c&f (I call then child WITHOUT family, more like the reality). I can't find any help or representation for being discriminated against by DCF and they're contracted agencies. If anyone can help me find representation to counter their unfair conclusion that I need a live in because I have a physical disability, please reach out to me on facebook, Pamela burkley, I'm the one with the picture of my daughter and me. After I won my kids back in court I talked to my DCF to make sure it was ok that my twins father was still able to watch his kids so I could keep my job. I was told yes, DCF even dropped my twins off at there dads. A week later DCF TOOK my twins saying I'm sticking them in an unsafe situations referring to the dad. Dcf mandate drug and toxicology tests for my twins dad he has been doing that for over a year and clean on every one of them but dcf refuses to go get them. I was informed by my dcf worker that even though the dad and I are almost done with ALL ITEMS listed on the service plane that doesn't mean I will get my kids back. They are now telling me I cant marry my other half as well even though I'm pregnant with his child, and on top of it threatened to take my unborn baby if my kids are still in dcf custody. My kids have NEVER BEEN HIT, NEVER STARVED, NEVER HOMELESS. But even when I have jumped through hoops more than a circus animal Im still in the wrong! I feel like the car commercial where the biker dude is sitting behind the teachers desk saying "I'm kinda like the teacher." Thats what dcf is trying to pull they have NO HARD EVIDENCE AGAINST US to PROVE we are bad parents not a damn thing. The only reason they are involved is because I called them asking for help so my autistic son could get referrals to get treatment. Why? Because since Obama care came into play waiting lists for anything are completely outrageous.REPORT COMMENTS

I know a lot about he foster care system. I have been a foster care provider in Massachusetts for 15 years. It's more broken now than ever. There is corruption, understaffing and very poor training and development for workers. I am signing because I hate seeing what is happening to these kids; some of them in our own care. Dcf in fall river is a farce. They make mistakes and turn it all on the parent . And if the issue that got them involved in the first place is resolved they still are great at trying to terminate parents rights. If I could find a ghost writer who was willing to help put my experience on paper,I would write a book about the dcf system and all the discrimination involved and how supervisors and social workers barely have enough education and have no clue as to what they are doing except destroy lives. I had a son in November 2008 he was taking in February 2009 Greenfield Massachusetts since his so called father abused him and lied about it when i tried to prove my innocence to the court that i was the one hurting my first born son plus i had prove i was going to school for my g.e.d at the time it happend but the judge didn't wanna hear it or even my lawyer and til this day 2016 i still wanna prove that i didnt do it i love my son so much until everything got ripped from me and now he is with his grandmother i feel like the i didnt have my day in court at all and its not fair.i was forced to sign my rights for my son because the judge couldn't figure it who did at the time i couldn't prove my innocenceREPORT COMMENTS

i have been dealing with DCF for a very long time i got my kids taken 11 yrs ago a family member got guardianship of 2 of girls and my 3 child was placed with her father and for the past 11 yrs i was always in there life besides the days they had to go to school otherwise they were always with me and alot of the times i would stay at that person house too help care for them i had done multiple programs thinking they were going to come home i do have all the proof of what i had done for 11 yrs my kids love me and want to live with me more than anything im very active with them always make sure they have what they need and over the yrs i went threw alot i am a person with disabilities but never got in the way too care for them,i can honestly say 11 yrs i wasn't ok too care for them but threw out the yrs iv gotten alot better and stronger up until 10 months ago one of my daughter's got dropped off at Dcf office cause she wants to live with me so she was acting out misbehaving and etc the person couldn't handle it anymore she is now 13 yrs old and ever since she got placed with dcf she has became worse she runs away all the time she angry at the world they don't make her go to school she picked up some court cases and hates every one dcf has told her lies and me alot of lies there not interested in seeing what i had done all these yrs they tell me I have too many 51A files i don't even know how many there talking about they didn't investigate all of them the ones they have they screened out no findings when my daughter runs she has come to my house yes i have kept her here cause im soo worried something bad will happen too her cause of the times she had ran and them not looking for her not telling me anything that was going on with her she has alot of hurt in her she's afraid of her father that threw her out at 9 yrs old cause she wanted to be with me after doing 6 and a half of yrs in jail they now want him to try and go for custody but doesn't want to comply with anything, kids have feelings the most a child needs is unconditional love my youngest daughter is 11 yrs old and she lives with her father and the house is so bad and there r many? if she is beeing touch, i have hospital records on her cause of sexual assault her therapist even said he strongly believes she's been molested one Dcf worker told me to go for her or she is going to grow up the way she is living now i have pics of his house he has had multiple reports on him including me filing on him police, hospitals doctors and so forth it's really breaking my heart that they can just do this, they pay strangers or family members too take care of them the only thing that i ever had was a drug problem wich i have acknowledge a long time ago and still trying to stay in a program for them and mental health issues that i get help for, all these programs, i don't know what else i can do im very afraid for my daughter that's on the run im still trying to fight for them i don't look at my kids as aREPORT COMMENTS

It's not about helping humans with most, not all, social workers in this broken system; it is a living that workers use for bonuses. DCF should use reverse psychology and offer bonuses ONLY when they can help families, not destroy them. Why not offer training and money for biological families instead of destroying families and paying strangers. I made a mistake that I can not forgive myself for. I engaged in a criminal activity and d.f.c removed my children from my care. My mother and the courts agreed upon guardianship. I did all the service plans, and I was able to get back on my feet. Now it's time to get my children back (Bristol County) and my mother decided to take my parental rights without notice and giving me the run around to remove guardianship..REPORT COMMENTS
