Our language is English it's horrible that in order to get a job we need to be bilingual. You move to another country you'd be required to speak said language!REPORT COMMENTS

I think it's a bunch of crap. It is unfair to me and many other people. I feel very discriminated and I'm seeing it more and more as I apply for jobs. Especially for customer service and call center jobs. Here is a few - United Health Group, Envision Healthcare, and Capital one, and Answer Excellence - here read the link http://www.answerexcellence.com/careers.html. A lot of staffing agencies like Apple One and Kelly Services. I can keep going on and on.REPORT COMMENTS

It took me forever to find a job where speaking Spanish was not a requirement! Last I checked I was born and raised in America and should not be forced to learn a foreign language to make a living! It should be hard for Spanish speaking people to find work who come here and refuse to learn the English language!REPORT COMMENTS

Yes its just not fair to job seekers like myself. Next month I plan on moving to Miami Florida, for better opportunity for myself and my career. But how can that be with half the damn job opportunities require for you to speak spanish. Im a North Carolina native and usually when you seek a job its usually if you speak spanish its a plus not required. Or if they require you to speak spanish, its the type of job dealing with for example a translator job or your a customer service representative dealing with foreign exchanges. Otherwise jobs should only require you to have excellent communication skills (ENGLISH) something has to be stopped its not fair to us united states citizens to learn a foreign language for a job in the United States. Its just mot right I hope our government or congressmen take a look into this issue!!!REPORT COMMENTS

Why should we have to speak their language, they came here, they need to speak ours. It discriminates against the English speaking residents. I took Spanish in Middle school & never used it so I don't remember much of it & I shouldn't have to!REPORT COMMENTS

I've been in the US for 23 years and grew up here. I currently work part-time for the government but would love to do full-time Administrative Assistance or Rexeptionist position but can't because Central Florida requires you to be bilingual in Spanish and English for you to get hired which to me is not fair! I'm trying to support my family too! I'm trying to learn by doing so Rosetta Stone but being this is America, it shouldn't come down to that. I would love to move somewhere where it's not required for you to be bilingual. My husbands job, if you're s/e bilingual, you get $1 more per hour. How is that not discrimination?!? It's time to get rid of PC for fear of offending people and just claim English as the national language. /rantREPORT COMMENTS

This is ridiculous, i am actually a French native. I struggled to learn English, and now almost every job that i apply for requires that i speak Spanish. i mean really, i didn't go to Mexico to get me a better opportunity, i came to the USA. this is a discrimination against job seekers in general. i am so frustrated. it seems like all they care about is the well being of spanish people which is just not fair when we live in AmericaREPORT COMMENTS

I live in Chicago, IL and work in a hospital. Most hospital clerical positions are requiring that candidates speak Spanish, the kicker is most times the candidates and workers at these places can barely speak English. So why is it a must that those who are non Spanish speakers must in turn speak Spanish? If I went to Puerto Rico or France, I would learn to speak Spanish and French because I that's the Native language, just as English is the native language here. I think it's very unfair. Hospitals here in Chicago for example Mount Saini and Saint Anthony most times it's always required that you speak Spanish. If you go into the facilities the worker you see are Hispanic.REPORT COMMENTS

Employers now, prefers Bilingual speaking employees.. Everytime I look for work the job description says "Biligual in Spanish" preferred. I can speak other language. I speak other language but they prefer Spanish speaking. This is Not Right. Even in the local TV chanels all the good movies are in Spanish. Is United States turning into Mexico? It's time to get our Nation back, and make this nation great again !!!! ( Sorry I dont know how to say that in Spanish )REPORT COMMENTS

I am Native American and am unemployed. I am almost to the point of loosing everything I own due to not being bilingual in Spanish. I just received a call for a job opportunity that would save me from Being homeless, car less, and with out food. This job opportunity stated that Qualifications are: Bilingual English/Spanish. This opens a position I could have had to someone with Spanish/English abilities. THIS IS WRONG FOR ALL AMERICANS. I may end up on the street or in my grave now. I AM SO UPSET INSIDE. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!REPORT COMMENTS

I am skilled with over 20 years in the clerical field and have been unemployed for over 2 yrs. Most of the jobs want bilingual in Spanish because of the high population of Hispanics in my area. Used to be the responsibility of the employer or the customer to provide translation, but now most all employers are looking for bilingual because it cuts their costs. This is ridiculous...we are an English speaking nation. If I went to another country it would be my responsibility to speak their language in order to communicate. Very irritated over this.REPORT COMMENTS

It is completely unfair that bilingual is becoming a priority when the orgin of this country is english. Every position posted I am experienced in is only hiring for bilingual when there is at least 30 positions open. This is becoming a serious problem. I am not a trump supporter but something needs to be done about this immigration issue.REPORT COMMENTS

Seriously, just go ahead and annex CA to Mexico !! Every job that I am qualified for prefers or requires Spanish. This is total discrimination. Wells Fargo even has a $125Billion mortgage fund set aside just for Hispanic borrowers. I see why they flock here. I'm sick of it. Trump is my only hop at this point.REPORT COMMENTS
