Generalizing people based on their nationality, religion, caste or creed does not help anyone. Removing H4EAD is not an option. People with talent and skills should not be denied an opportunity. People without talent and skills should not be given an opportunity. Instead of banning h4EAD, set some eligibility criteria for the recipients. When an illegal immigrant can get a green card, vote like a citizen and had no restrictions, why should not a law abiding, tax paying, legal immigrant with no claims to government benefits and with skills to be gainfully employed should not be provided a mere work authorization? -

H4 EAD is being heavily misused.. in last two months my company hired 5 women with H4ead from Indian consultancies .. no one verified the experience mentioned on their resumes.. these jobs were for highly educated computer science professionals but now done by these people who work on very low salary..I personally know an Indian friend who got his wife a job in the company he was working through his Indian consultancy and she knew nothing about IT..he did her work from home after hours to get her settled in the job.REPORT COMMENTS

Most of us who are on h4 ead are women who came with their spouses and probably more educated and well deserved as their spouses.After coming here we went for higher studies as that was the only option in front of us so that we can get the H1B and become independent.Now that we have gotten a chance to work on h4 ead and become independent please do not snatch it from us.America is the land of equality where in everybody who is skilled can prove her/his worth.We are the future citizens then please treat us the same and give us right to work.Many of us are doctors,phds,day care owners who are providing jobs to Americans.We are paying all taxes,social security and doing investments which is boosting America’s economy. empower woman by saving h4 ead.REPORT COMMENTS

What eligible h4 ead people are doing now?:- Get trained in IT skills what people who have done with their engineering degree or masters in computer science and step in to IT field. Is this fair? They are replacing many qualified candidates with their training and low wage quotes as they all want is an entry to IT job and experience. Instead of getting college degree in computer science h4 ead holders are misusing the h4 ead and filling IT jobs. Consulting companies are making huge profit with h4 ead holders. Many of the h4 ead people who works as consultants in IT dont have a major in computer related education. How many of H4 EAD;s who has done different degrees are now working in IT after getting some sort of training. Looks like people are getting irritated with H4 EAD mainly because of this reason. That means one who spent money and time for professional college degree /equivalent masters degree just wasted their money and time. People are finding it hard to find a job now and H4 EAD's are enjoying their life with this unexpected rule happened in 2015. Many exploited this and because of that most of the people are waiting to see some changes happen to H4 EAD. H4 EAD's are now filled in all the IT jobs. When a very minimal amount of H4 people are eligible for the work they are doing, why to give H4 EAD to all the spouses who has approved I140? That's not a small number. Many H4 EAD people who work's in IT jobs now do have non IT educational background(like physiotheraphy,nursing, beautician courses,...).Now all are in IT as junior developers, QA, BA,. Consulting companies hire H4 EAD's on smaller pay rate and train them and place them in client companies. If this is the trend, what's the value of releated college degree in IT field. People who have done computer engineering degrees are now suffering to get a job in IT field as H4 EAD's are placed in most of the jobs. If someone is getting trained in what to do, what's then difficulty of surviving?Consulting companies are using H4 EAD's a lot now. Please stop H4 EAD. Why am i being stopped only because i am on a dependent VISA? People with L2 Visas (dependent) can work with no restrictions. Whats wrong with people with H4 working? Please revoke H4 EAD as soon as possible. H4 Visa was not meant to be for seeking employment. H4 is a dependent visa used follow to join a spouse or parent who is on H1B. H1B comes with restrictions on wages as well as the position that they are employed in. H4 EAD has no such restrictions. They can work in any area and at any wages. This is what is causing the problem for citizens and green card holders. Hiring managers are not even looking at green card holders. They just ask for H4 EAD and hire them for low wages. A lot of the times these H4 EAD's are employed by their spouses or their friends. Hence there is no chance that a citizen or permanent resident will get called for an interview... not even phone screening. This is bad for American citizens and permanent residents. Yes I know easily a fake H1 holder can be easily removed by genuine EAD holder. I am working as senior manager in my firm and I know we all have clear directions to hire citizens only no visa or EAD until we can’t find any citizen for that job. Blame all those who misused H4 EAD , just think by yourselves whether you are working in where you are eligible to work. Because of H4 EAD many people who are eligible lost their jobs. H4 EAD's have no restriction no limitation, but that doesn't mean you can work in IT fields with some training rather than getting the related degree in that. People can work as a nurse, doctor and teacher if they get some training. Please put some wage restrictions on H4EAD. After working on latest technologies for 10 years I realized that getting a decent billing rate is a challenge. Why ? because so many H4EADs have flooded the job market with fake experience. They are ready to work at any low rates just to get any experience. Only a few of them are really qualified , most of them are a drain on this economy. Granting freedom to spouses to work is like clipping the wings of genuinely qualified and experienced people . People who were on H4 before waited until 7 or 8 years to get the GC EAD to work here. Now people are coming here on H4 and with in a year or two, they get their EAD and start working in whereever they want. If people works in GC EAD is 5%, people who works in H4 EAD is 90%. And among this huge number 80% are stepping into IT field with no related background education and no prior experience. There are many firms which trains these people and help them in getting placed.And consulting companies prefer H4 EAD people a lot as they are ready to work for low wages. So what's the point of a person spending money and time in computer college degree or masters. If some one gets trained in something, forsure they will learn it and do it. That doesn't mean that should be allowed all the time. How many H4 EAD's works in software industry with no related computer education bachelors or masters degree. It's obviously a threat to the job market and the importance of related field education. Please don't allow H4 EAD holders to work whereever they want. Please Save H4 EAD. Depriving the work authorization of a legal resident for decades is denial of a basic human right to earn a livelihood. The current Green card processing timeline completion can go upto 70 years for certain countries like India. Unemployment of immigrants who are already present in the US is a lost opportunity for the US economy, resulting in a loss of billions of dollars of potential tax earnings at the federal, state and local level. We do not support Visa abuse in any form. Please bar candidates who fake their resumes and experiences irrespective of their nationality. There is good and bad karma in every part of the world. so there are genuinely capable, educated and well deserving candidates who have been contributing to the economy. Please support their rights and provide them an opportunity to excel. Majority of H4 holders are women. Please do not deny our basic rights to be independent and contribute to our economy, society and family. Those who are applying for H4 EAD are contributing to American society instead of creating burdens. We are not a burden on social security or medicare. In fact, we contribute to the US growth. H4 EADs are only provided to eligible candidates ( I140 approved). It does not make sense for us to convert our visa category from H4 to H1 when we are already struggling with the backlog queue and our spouse ( whose GC is in process ) are in never ending GC queue. H4 EAD does not have any Salary restrictions so it cannot be tied to cheap labor like how it's been represented. We go through a very competitive Job market to even qualify for a job. Employers or firms base their decision on the Merit of the qualified candidates and not on the basis of an Individual's status or nationality. Today H4 holders are running business hiring thousands of American workers. We have H4 holders in respectable positions in organizations and are hiring more American workforce. Data from the Bureau of labor statistics for 2017 shows a median weekly wage of $1,156 or $60,112 per year. There will be a quantifiable amount of federal and state taxes being paid by this demographic. There will be a great economic loss to the national and local economies if H4EAD is revoked. US chamber of Commerce in 2014 estimated a $5.8 billion increase in purchasing power of families who have an H4EAD for one year alone Increased household income leads to increased spending (sales taxes), real estate investments, expenses for children's daycares and several extracurricular activities, boosting the real estate and local businesses and contributing to the economic growth of the area. Let us work till the broken immigration system is reformed. Please allow us to contribute to this economy. Please allow us to have the pride that we are contributing to the society and family with our experience and skills. Please do not snatch the sense of freedom and independence from women of this generation. If Canada or any other developed country is our role model for immigration checks or process then please note they do not deny the rights of a women or an individual just because they are categorized as a Immigrant's dependent. Please don't assume H4 EAD work permit meant for IT workers. I did my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a reputed school in Pennsylvania, and passed NCLEX. My husband spent lot of money to support my BSN. For nurses getting H1B sponsorship is hard, and there are very less hospitals who do sponsor for nurses. H4 EAD came as career saving boon. Had the H4 EAD work permit with drawn, I would have to stop working. Now I gained 2+years experience in a reputed hospital, and suddenly no work means, I could not imagine. H4 EAD holders say they are waiting for GC and so basically there is nothing wrong on H4 EAD. One who is coming to US and if the spouse on H1 already has I140 approved can apply for H4 EAD straight away. So getting this I140 approval takes 1.5 or 2 year.People on H4 EAD are really lucky as they don't have any worries or any constraints to work anywhere. To get a green card they have to wait for atleast 9 or 10 years. So how can they justify this? H4 EAD is the easiest way to get a job now in US. This was not intended to ruin the job market.But that's what it's happening now. H4 EAD is not a curse now. That's a real boon. Some analysis needs to be made how many H4 EAD's are really contributing to the economy and creating jobs rather than taking the jobs away. One who is earning must have to pay the taxes. So that's not a big thing that H4 EAD holders are doing. Whoever gets the paycheck will be paying taxes.May be 15-20% of H4 EAD holders are in the business field or creating jobs. It's very evident that all other H4 EAD holders are in IT ruining the job market ready to work for low wages. Consulting companies are taking advantage of these and the H4 EAD people are getting a chance to earn and experience. There should be restrictions that needs to be made on which all job areas H4 EAD people can work. If they are working in IT jobs why don't theyhave to file the labour and prove they are eligible to do the work. Not all H4 EAD holders are doing business. Majority of them are in IT industry. As everyone knows H4 EAD holders are ready to work for any salary and consulting companies are maximum utlizing them while placing them for IT jobs with the clients. A person who has spent money and time for their 4 year engineering college degree and Masters can't even ask for their genuine pay rate because of H4 EAD. Is it reasonable that a person can do a course in nursing or doctor or professor and get a job in those fields. Anyone can do any job if they are getting trained in that, But that doesn't mean the related college degree or experience doesn't have any value in building up those skills. H4 EAD's are getting trained in software dev/qa jobs and are getting placed in companies through consulting companies. They are really spoiling the job market a lot. Please do some measures to prevent these kind of misuse and allow genuine people to work. H4 EAD holders and their spouses are supporting H4 EAD a lot as it's a lot beneficial to them only and a real threat to the job market. Rescinding the rule is inhuman and injustice to those H4 spouses and it will ruin their personal life and destroy their families. It will also create an unexpected financial burden for the family as they have planned for future life in this country based on dual income. Please save H4EAD. The reason why H4EAD came into existence is due to the fact that employment based visas for certain countries have a long line in waiting for getting green cards. In previous years this was not the case because not a lot of people came on those visas. But since education system improving in those countries means there are a lot of capable people who were able to enter using employment visas. Unfortunately there are no caps on visas per country as there is for green card. This resulted in long waiting lines. Consequently the spouses got caught in limbo wasting their lives. It is not their fault that the immigration system is broken. Ultimately they are citizens in waiting. Let them be productive and let them pay taxes by working. When they become citizens they will be contributing to the economy. If they are denied this right now, they will be wasting away their lives and won't contribute anything when they become citizens.REPORT COMMENTS

People who are questioning why H4 EADs don't get their own H1s - Please note that H1s are capped to only 65K per year leaving several deserving people on H4s. There is not a sympathy card asked for here, its only about equal rights to work. If an H4 EAD can learn some skills required for job through training then that's good for everyone. People who fear their market rate is higher and will not be able to sustain due to influx of H4 EADs should focus on the value they are adding. If the value they deliver to their organization is not more then they cannot complain on difference of rates. Some lucky people get the H1s, so these folks should not think everyone else are less qualified than them. H4 EAD is a boon for all. It should be saved.REPORT COMMENTS

I fail to understand while most h4 EADs claim to be masters / qualified, yet have been sitting at home doing nothing for years. What stops a truly professional /qualified person from getting an H1b of their own ? Just playing the sympathy card does not solve anyone's problem. H4 EAD's should have wage restrictions similar to H1b for doing IT jobs where a computer degree is needed. With the current law, H4 EAD's are flooded in IT market where most of them are not at all eligible. They will be learning the stuff through trainings or through the job or from the team mates help. They cannot perform or go an extra mile which will adversely affect the project at one stage. Competition doesn't mean competing for a job for a low wage. That doesn't make any sense at all .
