H4 is in nature citizens-in-waiting. H4 who held EAD must be the situation where their spouse H1B holder already has Green Card approval. The family is just waiting because there is a 'born country' cap on H1B Green Card. The waiting time could be 5-10 years or even more. It is extremely unreasonable and unfair to those citizens-in-waiting' right to work. The H4 EAD is a remedy to this unfairness in the law. But now, the unfairness is once again back to the table. Those H4 EAD holders are legal immigrants and taxpayers. They contribute to the US no less than any citizen in this country, and they are citizens-to-be shortly. They should not be treated differently. Please do not cancel this H4 EAD policy, make it permanent. Am running my business using this visa , proving job opportunities to Americans as well. I cannot understand why this visa has to be revoked ! -

H4 EAD cancellations are actually a pretty good news. Its time for countries like India to cheer up. Most of these “amazingly skilled, extremely low pay, highly educated, overly depressed and bored” house wives can start moving back to their home lands. Its an incredible opportunity to start contributing “immensely” to their home lands and those countries will “immensely” benefit from these “amazingly skilled, highly educated, overly depressed and bored” house wives. Please do not revoke H4 EAD. If you think it has been misused, atleast put some guidelines who can get H4 EAD, with certain degree or certain wage level etc. I did my Masters here and didn't get through H1B lottery for 3 times in a row. H4 EAD really helped me to present my skills at work. H4 EAD helps us H-1B families who are waiting for their Green Cards from so many years and that it would take so many more years to come. It gives the families to invest in the US and help with the economy. The negative comments about H-1Bs and H4 EADs snatching their jobs are not the fault of the individuals, its the companies. You take away these visas, the business goes offshore. Americans should always put first, its their country. Please control the abuse of these visas and they should take care of your Buy American and Hire American rule. But dont go revoking the H4 EAD. It affects us families and in turn a little impact to the economy. I am sad that people are disliking H-4 EAD spouses to work who are all women. Please clear the green card backlog before you revoke H4 EAD. The people who got hope with this EAD are the ones that have been helplessly holding on to and supporting their spouses' green card paths. We pay taxes, participate in the economy, some of these people are entrepreneurs and most importantly ever one of these beneficiaries is in this country legally. We have been re-united with our spouses, some have bought homes, most participate int he community services and charity - all being made possible with this work authorization. Save H4Ead: I hold an MBA from a top 10 institute in India, and have enrolled for another one from a top university in the interim to bolster my career. For those who feel that all H4s fake their resumes, kindly think twice. We've been putting incredible efforts to keep ourselves on track despite the hurdles (cant work on h4s). My current status doesn't allow me to work, so, I volunteer full time. I left a well paying job in Mumbai to marry my bestfriend (who btw is from Sloan, just in case some were thinking of judging his background). We are 2 hardworking individuals who have worked our way up to wherever we are today. And law abiding individuals btw. And for those who feel we are taking away their jobs, will regardless have scapegoats to blame for their inefficiencies always. This is a sincere request to the government to save h4ead. Not all of us have career tracks in IT to get an H1b sponsor. We are here to make America great again. As far as the misuse is concerned, have a mechanism to counter it. Revoke H4 EAD. many of them are misusing it. Some are working in my company becasue they know somebody from top mgmt and have fake resume. They are earning second income but we americans/citizens are still struggling for first income If H4EAD really want job, apply for H1B or go back to your country and work there. Stopping work authorization for H4 spouses will be detrimental for H1B spouses from India and China(mostly women), because people from these countries wait in a decade long queue to obtain Green Card. These women will lose financial independence impacting their basic right to obtain livelihood and also might not be able to go back because of their spouses career. Its important to note that all developed countries like U.K, Australia, Canada etc give this basic right to the spouses on visa and H4 EAD is given only to thousands spouses per year who are in Green card process out of millions on H4 whose spouse company did not apply for green card.REPORT COMMENTS

This has been an administrative fix that was implemented to give relief to people living in this country and have no option but to stay home. If dependents on all other visa catogeries get an EAD, Why is this one catogery discriminated? H4 EAD holders are creating small companies, mostly self employed. They are talented and educated young people who have to sacrifice everything and wait for years to persuade anything. There were reports on divorces, depression cases that the dependents of H1-B have been through as you cannot expect someone to be home locked for 15 years if you cannot give them a GC. This was good thing done by Obama. Either remove blockage for GC or keep H4REPORT COMMENTS

With a Bachelors and Masters degree in Statistics (STEM field), I will have to sit Idle at home if H4 EAD is revoked. After clearing 4 rounds of interview, I am currently working in data analytics for an American company. I am 30 now and if my right to employment is removed, I will have to miss all my productive years of work and all my degrees will be wasted. Being an Indian citizen, it will take atleast 15-20 years to get get Green card. Please do not revoke H4EAD until you find a solution for GC backlogs.REPORT COMMENTS

A lot of H4-EADs get in IT with fake resumes and fake job profiles with no proof IT experience or relevant bachelor degrees and steal jobs. I have seen at least dozens of such example where a person had no IT relevant education in past, barely had some bachelor degree but still working in IT where spouse is doing most of the work after hours.
