H4 EAD should not be revoked.First of all only a small fraction of all h1b spouses gets the EAD. Those who are future citizens and not citizens yet only because of long queues.It is highly unfair not to allow the spouses to work for 10-15 years.It is basically going to destroy their career and life I dont even understand the argument of low salary.Why will someone settle for extra low salary if they are doing the same work.Why an H4 EAD software engineer will settle with a salary far below the general wage level when they are doing the same work.Whether a family have double income or not it should be on the family.American citizens might have have double income in the family.It is their choice to have or not to have.Ability to work is a basic human right.Woman came here along with their husband so that the family. are not torn apart.But destroying their life and career like this is a heart-rending decision -

Please do not revoke H4 EAD. I had applied for Green Card in 2012 and still waiting due to backlog and this H4 EAD is helping my wife realize her career goals. I have Masters and Bachelors in Computer Science and working Full Time. I did not displace any US worker's job and being paid more than market rate. Please do consider that more than 93% of people who have been granted H4 EAD are women. This EAD has given great confidence, independence, freedom and purpose in life for these women. Please don't take this away from them. Several families financial stability and unity depends on this. We are legal immigrants on path to Green Card and US Citizenship, contributing to US economy.REPORT COMMENTS

Hi All, Please dont take H4EAD.Bec every ones situation is different.when I was at india I worked for 5 years.When I came here,I applied for H1b but no luck.5 years back I came till i 140 under process. Do u have any clarity when green card comes.no one knows bec of so many backlogs.may be after 20 years do i get the greencard what can i do by that time,any use with that..so my carrier and all wives carrier will be end up.We r in good and very freedom county but we are depending on husbands money till end of the life..is that good.please think onetime before take it out..you can put some rules.whoever have master degree or mimimum degree they can work like that please.it might be helpful for some H4EADs.Thank u..REPORT COMMENTS

Cancellation/ revoking H4 EAD will have below impacts 1. Many families brought home based on H4 EAD ( two people working from family). Who brought the house will try to sell will try to sell their house. There was impact on housing market because of recent immigration uncertainties and there are lot of houses will be for sale. The house market will crash and might lead to recession in near future. 2. Why should we suffer because we are citizens-in-waiting for 8-15 years? You have agreed to make us citizens, treat us like one. Let us work till the broken immigration system is reformed. We are not a burden on social security or medicare. In fact, we contribute to the US growth. I am not stealing anyone's job as during job searching preferences was always given to American citizen and I am fine with it. I have completed B.E. in computer. I have been working very hard, doing volunteer ship, keep improving skills. I have been looking for job since 1 year. Finally I got job 1 month back based on my merits and hard work. Now revoking H4EAD will end my career and I feel like its end of everything for me being so skilled and qualfied. I really want myself to be financially independent and support my family We are future Americans and I am seeing dark future for me and my family if I wont be able to work. The family is just waiting because there is a 'born country' cap on H1B Green Card. The waiting time could be 5-10 years or even more. It is extremely unreasonable and unfair to those citizens-in-waiting' right to work. The H4 EAD is a remedy to this unfairness in the law. But now, the unfairness is once again back to the table. Those H4 EAD holders are legal immigrants and taxpayers. They contribute to the US no less than any citizen in this country, and they are citizens-to-be shortly. They should not be treated differently. Please do not cancel this H4 EAD policy, make it permanent. Am planning to run my business using this visa , proving job opportunities to Americans as well. I petition to you to not cancell the H4 EAD. All of them on H4 are skilled, with a bachelors or masters degree mostly in a STEM field. Many have also started their own startups/businesses. There would only be net gain by allowing those in H4 EAD to contribute to the US economy and American society. Those on H4 EAD have been living in the US for a decade, have an approved green card petition, and have US born kids. They are stuck in this position due to a quota which discriminats people based on country of birth. The employment based immigrant visa is issued based on ‘skill’. But a cap is placed on country of birth. These two are mutually incompatible. This creates a backlog of decades to those born in India. As a result, an unborn child from Afghanistan or Uganda could become a US citizen before skilled immigrants from India who have been living here for decades, paying taxes and contributing to yhe economy could. H4 EAD was the only hope for those in this predicament. Also those affected by this change are mostly women, thus reducing gender diversity at the workplace. Please revoke the fake Green Cards issued to people from EB1 under the name of Manager from Multinational Companies. Most of these filled by Indian MNCs are fake .Please do an audit for the same instead of revoking H4 Ead that was issued to spouses who have been waiting for 10+ years hoping they will get Green Card one day. It is stressful for those on H4 EAD that their family will be torn apart after they lose job as they might need to move out of country for a living. Make EB2 and EB1 current for India and China so that we can get our Green Card and then we need not wait for H4 EAD. 90%+ of the spouses who are on H4 are educated with a good work experience. I personally feel tired of renewing visa for the last 12 years . Intially was working on H1B with an employer that never intiated PERM processing and eventually when to H4 and started working on H4 EAD for the last 2 years. We have been living in this country for 12+ years, paying taxes, contributing to the economy. Instead of taking away the temporary relief that was granted to the H4 EAD spouses work on fixing the broken immigration system first.
