Please save h4 spouses who have been waiting over a decade to get an EAD to start their career. Please don''t ruin our lives! We are humans too and deserve the independence to choose to have a career in the land of opportunities.

Issuing H4EAD: - It is issued to family members of skilled immigrant workers who are waiting to become a citizen of USA. Why not treat them like one? Working on H4EAD - H4EAD only gives permission to work, not a guarantee of a job. - H4EAD holders only get a job if they prove they are qualified like any other job seeker. - So why not put in place measures similar to H1 or L1 to ensure that there is fairness. Discrimination between visa holders - H4 is issued to H1 spouses while L2 to L1 spouses. - Why is it then that L2 visa holders can work while H4 not? Employment Gap Most companies today struggle with finding the right talent for the job. As of today there are multiple job openings per unemployed person. This gap between the industry requirement and workforce is not just harming the companies but also the American economy. To ensure America's growth, skilled workers are needed whether they are citizens or immigrants. Help build a stronger workforce with existing residents (citizens, immigrants, immigrant families) which will in turn help grow the economy. In other words, letting skilled workers get jobs will improve American economy and will be a win win situation. Progress, don't regress USA is supposed to be the land of the dreamers, the land of immigrants. If you truly are a world leader show with actions, not words. Be humane towards legal, skilled immigrants who are looking to contribute and help build this country. Why not utilize the skilled workers here & today to help America grow? Be Human When I hear the words, "don't let tube spouses work", I feel like I'm either in 1800s or in a third world country. Being human simply means acknowledging sacrifice families make when moving to a new country. Being human means giving these people a chance to develop personally, professionally and to contribute to the country. Why do you wish to punish the families? (Especially of just one visa holder?)

By and large, H4 EAD is for used for spouses of H1 workers who are in line to get their green card. And the line exists only because of the by country quota. Thus, H4 EAD is a relief to future permanent residents through legal immigration process. Please do NOT repeal it, rather please make it more complete so it cannot be exploited.

H4 ead is a way in which the highly qualified spouses can contribute positively to the economy and society at large. Given the insane GC wait times it is inhuman to not let spouses work, as they are losing precious years of their youth and the society is failing to utilize a workforce which is already present in the country. To protect the interests of US citizens there could be some checks and balances like minimum required qualifications, minimum required salary, etc but revoking H4 ead straightaway would be very very unfair.

H4 EAD is a way for soon to be GC holders to work and contribute to the US economy. These folks are educated and law abiding residents waiting in the multi year long line to get permanent residency. Lets treat them at par with everyone else and give them their basic right to work and earn dignity, confidence(not just money). Letting these folks work will foster positivity around them and will create more work even if these folks are not entrepreneurs. Only close minded captive societies think of restricting peoples freedoms - in this case freedom to work. And America is not known to be such a country/society. In fact America is quite the opposite - a free country which was built on the premises of hard work, skill and honesty. Groups which wants protectionism has never prospered historically and are typically reluctant to upgrade their skills and become marketable. H4 EAD should not be rescinded. If rescinded it will not only be injustice to all the H4 holders but also to the forwards thinking Americans and humanity in general.

EAD for h4 visa holders has given a new life to many young and intelligent men and women who can do wonders if simply allowed the basic right to work and earn their living. Please keep h4 ead and watch it help this nation get stronger. Please do not allow our education rot in the golden cage. Allow us to use our skills and knowledge to contribute to the economy of this country.

There are current & future entrepreneurs on H4-EAD who create jobs for the people of this country. They contribute to the growth of the economy by increasing the tax income and taking fewer benefits like social security or Medicare. They also enroll in graduate school, providing the universities with the research fund.

Please do not cancel h4 ead. I am a masters student on h4 ready to graduate this spring. I recently got my ead and I have waited 6 years to resume my career. If I didnt come here on h4, I would be staying across the globe away from my husband with a little kid. Now that I am finally able to get my ead, this news about work being done on canceling it is disheartening. We value education and believe this great country values education too. My 6 y old girl will one day understand value the same and serve this country. I do not want young kids like her grow up watching their moms and dads be helpless because an open minded country like the US did not allow some people to work. When highly educated people are forced to stay home , it eventually affects the families and societies negatively and that never helps anyone. Please keep h4 ead and allows aspiring and patient people like me to contribute to this country we have fallen in love with for its greatness.

I came to Sacramento ,California in 2014. Since then I am trying my best to get into the medical field for work and become independent. 2016 was a boon to me where I could start working only because of H4 EAD. I am a professional graduate who is working as a licensed Physical Therapist since 1 year. I am contributing positively to make difference in life of people of this country. It’s a humble request please do not revoke H4 EAD. All my efforts and struggle to study and get prepared for the examination to be a licensed PT will go in vain! Please do not take away the rights of Professional skilled graduates! We serve people!

I did my Masters in Computer Science in 2010 on H4 Visa. So I didn’t get my OPT. I’ve been working since 11/2 Year because of EAD . This is the best thing that happened to me since I’m independent now. Please don’t take this away from people like me. I’m already depressed even thinking that some day the rule will be revoked. It’s a humble request not to revoke this rule.

Please do not cancel H4 EAD. We are highly educated and skilled professionals that are making a positive contribution to the US economy while waiting in line for a green card. I have been in the US since 2007. My children 9 and 6 are US citizens. Forcing us to take away one income would affect the quality of life we are able to provide our children and our spending power as a family.

I am a STEM graduate from a reputed US university and have recently opened a company and intend on contributing to the economy and creating jobs. With two income household the spending power increases hence it would result in better economy and will create more jobs. People have bought houses and the real estate market was booming. Since H4 EAD's have been issued studies say the unemployment rate has gone down. companies involved in Visa fraud and individuals who go through shady means to obtain a job should be targeted and not hard working individuals who pay high taxes and are being punished because of few miscreants. Please do not revoke H4 EAD. it would be a huge blow to my confidence and self esteem. I gain confidence from my work and the ability to put my skills to use. I want to achieve many goals in my career. Taking away my right to work is retrogressing. It will bring upon loneliness and depression. It would kill me to know i am not contributing to my household. spending on anything for myself will push me into guilt. To be able to work is basic human right, and taking away that right is inhumane. This is not the great America I grew up hearing stories about anymore.

Life is different when you work,. I have masters degree with IT experience of 5+ years and after coming US was not working for 3 years. I was unable to contribute to the betterment of American people, including mine. Now I’m employed working in a high tech company. Please don’t revoke ead, don’t want to go back to depressive state of staying home without job. America is great as they always respected immigrants and is a land of dreams.

I moved to the San Francisco bay area in 2012 on an H1B visa when I got a job at Google. I got married in 2015 and my wife decided to move with me to the US because of the new rule to allow H4 spouses to apply for EAD. Since she is a legal professional and would not get a job right away without knowing law of the land, she worked very very hard to get into UC Berkeley school of Law for her masters. She will be graduating in summer of 2018, counting on H4 EAD. We have already spent more than $70k on her education, purely based on the plan to get her a job on H4 EAD. If it is revoked, it would be extremely unfair to us. If the government really wants to fix immigration, they should resource USCIS and clear green card queues, they should get hold of the H1B fraud which goes on and results in lottery, they should work towards a framework which allows genuinely skilled professionals to settle down comfortably. Not revoke a rule which is a fundamental right of individuals.
