Reasons why H4EAD should not be rescinded: (1) More than 90,000 women will lose their right to work and will be forced to stay at home inspite of having US degrees, which is regressive in today's age of gender equality, equal pay and equal opportunities. (2) Women on H4EAD are working, earning money and creating jobs either directly through consultancies, businesses or indirectly in the education and day care sector by keeping their children in daycare and indirectly creating jobs in daycare and education sector. (3) Most of these woman have US education and due to circumstances are unable to get a H-1B visa due to the H-1B cap. (4) Many professions like medical residency do not sponsor H-1B visas inspite of the shortage of doctors in rural areas. This H4EAD visa is boon for medical residents. (5) H4EAD visas help to create consultancies, businesses and therefore create jobs, something that H-1B cannot engage in (6) The most important reason for this H4EAD in the first place was due to huge Green Card backlogs for people from primarily from India and China and people from these country are usually highly educated and skilled professionals. I have close to 8 years of work experience and have worked for the best tech and financial firms out there and now work at my dream company, Google. Applied for H1B twice and didn't get picked up in the lottery both the times. How am I eligible to work at Google but not qualified enough to continue contributing to US economy? Firstly I am originally from India, but I became a U.S. Citizen by serving in the U.S Armed Forces. I never realized until my training in the US army that how many children don't even have the privilege to go to college and hence can't land in a decent paying job. Secondly to the so-called indian spouses on H4-EAD, don't know you that you are going to be on a visa before getting married to your dream husband on a H1-b visa. Do you have any idea how much damage you have been causing to this nation, first lots of american college kids are not even given an oppurtunity because the managers in IT firms are gaming by naming tons of technologies on the JOB Description and hence they want seasoned people at the wage of a fresh college-grad. A few years ago in Newyork,NY big banks used to pay 130-140$ an hour to IT consultants, now they are paying 70$ an hour without any benefits. The giant corporations have taken away Pensions, lowered wages, increased work hours(techically slogging 50-60 hr work weeks), less vacation time and above all NO FAMILY TIME. YOU INDIANS, have you ever realized that? WOULD YOU BE FINE IF AMERICANS COME AND THROW YOU OUT ON YOUR FILTHY STREETS? I think Indians are still under the Colonial Slave mind-set under the British influence. Please revoke H-4 EAD.REPORT COMMENTS

Citizens should always get a first preference in jobs. Give a priority to citizens first and only open the positions to H1B/H4 if an advertised position cannot be filled up for a predetermined duration (Eg.1 or 2 months). Also increase scrutiny of fake resumes if that is a legitimate concern. However, no point to cut down legal immigration. H4 EADs are given to a fraction of H4s, only ones with an approved GC application. America has been losing its edge in IT, BioSciences steadily for decades. The few leaders left like Apple, Google, Amazon, Tesla, Microsoft, employ over 50% of immigrants. Wonder what would happen if legal immigrants are shown the door.REPORT COMMENTS

H4-EAD should not have been issued in the first place. With many qualified Americans being unemployed or underemployed, there is no need to fill in so many positions with temporary workers that are under-qualified or unqualified to perform these jobs and often with dubious credentials .Many H4 EADs get employed in IT after undergoing training for a few months. A few may have the qualifications or the skills but for the most part they do not represent the majority. Nepotism is rife in the IT sector with the arrival of so many guest workers and merit has taken a backseat much to the detriment of American workers . An abundant supply of guest workers willing to work for a pittance has led to wage stagnation and displacement of Americans from the job sector. Prof Ron Hira has done lot of research and has the statistics to back his claims about the abuse of H-1B program and its negative impact on American workers. Please revoke H-4 EAD.REPORT COMMENTS

H4 EAD is only for a fraction of people who are already on the queue to get the green card. Majority of people on H4 are women who are well educated and join their spouses on H1B. Their is a dearth of high skilled and high paying people and there are many jobs that are underfilled. These H4 women go for skillful jobs and contribute to the society by producing output and paying income taxes. Furthermore, if H4 EAD can't work, many of the skilled labor of H1B holders might go away from the US to other developed countries and pay taxes there. We only have to gain if we allow H4 EAD workers to perform job duties. It is good for American society as well as for skilled individuals. Please do NOT remove H4 EAD.REPORT COMMENTS

H4EAD is only given to a very small fraction of H!B spouses.Only those who have filed for GC and waiting in the huge queue.The wait time for Indians for GC is the highest.It can last for 15-20 years.Had there not been huge backlog these candidates wud have been gc holder or citizen already.The spouses have come along with the h1b holder so that their family does not fall apart..many of them are highly qualified and might have filed for individual h1b also.but might not be lucky enough to get selected in the lottery..So isnt it too harsh to doom their career and seal the fate.How traumatic is it for a capable person to end up being nothing.Working is a basic human right. Understand the context here: EAD's for H4 are only given if you have an approved Green Card petition AND are waiting for unreasonable number of years to get the physical Green Card. So consider this - You came from Italy in 1940s and were told your Green Card petition is approved but you will get they physical card in 1950 - In the mean time DHS gives temporary work authorization due to this inconvenience. It is only granted to a select few spouses of primary H1B visa holder who have already been approved for an employment-based green card and face a long unforeseen wait due to huge employment-based green card backlogs. Decades of wait time to get approval to work in the US take away prime tenure from our life. We are not contributor to economy and also our spending power is taken away. With our earning capabilities threatened, we are reduced to a mere spectator in today’s thriving American economy. Our positive impact towards the community is annulled. We came to US hoping for GC in less than 10 years and we are stuck in the middle of nowhere .H4 EAD is our only hope . I have seen people commenting about H4 ead abuse . A properly managed work environment can eliminate those candidates who don't have proper experience and land in a job using their contacts . All we hear from these people is complains, they are taking Americans jobs, selling themselves low, just thinking about themselves, without any consideration of American’s or America. They came into this country as they are not capable of securing jobs in their home countries. Amazing, they will complain, we are taxpayers. You make money , you pay taxes, simple what special about it. You are sending your kids to school, which is run on Citizens taxpayers money. No one is separating the families, they all knew when they came here. Stay with your kids, no one is asking you to stay here. They are suckers, doesn’t show any sign of highly skilled. They are highly skilled in playing these cards “female spouses, barred in jails”, “families are separated save H4”, “ slavery for H1”.
