How unfair the current $8000 giveaway is for 2009 first time homebuyers! The $7500 credit was pushed by the government to stimulate the housing market?..and now the ones who procrastinated get mightily rewarded and the ones who bought in 2008 are being made to pay. Not fair congress!

I agree, it is not fair to make one group repay their credit while the other group does not.

This is completely unfair if months later you give away a FREE tax credit that doesn't have to be repaid. The government needs to be fair and eliminate the repayment for people who bought in 2008. This is competely wrong and someone needs to have some common sense here and stop this.

It's definitely not fair. I don't think we should have to repay this $7500 when other people get $8000 for free.

I bought my condo in December, 2008. It is not fair that people like me have to repay the credit! The value of my property drastically plunged down and still loosing value. Why do I have to repay the credit? Ridiculous.

It is amazing that this wasn't corrected when they passed the $8000 credit. If the $8k credit was a LOAN this wouldn't be an issue, but how can they think the people that took the $7500 credit would still gladly repay the loan? Also, with the possibility of losing Bush's tax cuts this year in addition to the minimum $500 payment there are going to be A LOT of BROKE middle class families in 2011! THANKS WASHINGTON!

We were the homebuyers that stepped up in 2008 to buy a home first, NOT 2009. And we still have to re-pay?! When 2009 buyers dont have to??! UNFAIR!!

I am a college student preparing to graduate. This credit helped me improve my home while paying for college. Please don't add increased financial stress with his credit on top of student loan repayments to come. Thank you.

It's unbelievable to think that if I had waited only 6 weeks, the tax credit I received would not have to be repaid. I'm not one for handouts, but why was the repayment eliminated for only 2009 and 2010 home buyers? Not only that, but it makes buying another home almost impossible. How will I be able to produce the necessary down payment amount and closing costs for a new home when I will have a $7500 tax bill hanging over my head immediately? Please, please, please eliminate the repayment of the 2008 homebuyer tax credit.

I was not against repaying $7500 and was grateful for the loan. However, to go from paying back $7500 over 15 years to other people getting $8000 in 2009 and not having to pay back a dime is ridiculous and absolutely unfair!! The amount offered should have gone way down, not UP, if it wasn't going to have to be repaid!!!

It is not about being fair, but about the people who took a chance to help the economy and purchased homes when economy was poor. We should be recognized for this!

I also think it is unfair that I have to pay back the 7500 and a year later you get 500 more and dont have to repay.
