DYFS has been in my life for a month now based on a bogus slanderous call placed by a man I did not know who had a baby with my babysitter who I hired for three weeks. He is an abusive man and found out that I was kind to my babysitter and said she should leave him and called DYFS on me to ruin my relationship with my babysitter. I have cooperated with them fully but I I have not had my case closed. My children and ex husband have submitted to 8 interviews...and 2 drug tests (passed both). Not sure what their problem is but they invaded my home ruined my reputation to those who know of the case and in my new town, at the school etc...and is there ANY form of recourse against the caller? No. Currently - my civil liberties are violated and legally so. Something has to change. I want true child abusers caught but the system should not be so easy to manipulate for the truly sick and abusive population (who are probably abusing THEIR children) out there who has learned this is an excellent way to damage people and their children lives. My children and I have suffered immense psychological damage from this event and its perfectly legal currently.REPORT COMMENTS

The state agencies that are here to provide help for this people are working against are system. I believe that these foster parents are people that want to adopt. It`s cheaper for them, and the worker gets paid off. They took my grandaughter, and are changing the rules as they go.If you live in nj and dont have money for a lawyer( like me) there is no justice ...Because they all work together. My daughter was born 8/16/1996 she had bruises coming and going since the time Jessica was 3 weeks old. I took her to the Dr.s and the Dr. told me to go Jersey Shore Hospital did not give a time just told me to pack a bag for my daughter and me cause she didn't know how long we were going to be there. The same day my sister and her two boys go to Friendlys to get somethng to eat after we finish eating. Jessica and i go to the hospital as soon as i go to register i get told i am late and that i abused and neglected my child by DYFS workers and a Middletown Detective. I said no i have not. I have been trying to figure out what is causing her to bruise and find out why her tongue was swollen and bleeding. I got told i made that stuff up and i said no i wouldn't. I stayed in the Hospital with my daughter for a whole week. I didn't get a chance to shower cause i had just got told i am suppose to be in court that morning on the same day it was told to me i had court. I showed up late and explained to Judge Kriezman why i was late and i was just asking if someone could tell me what is causing my daughters bruising and he said DYFS has temporary custody of Jessica until further notice. Now this this happened on Dec16th 1996 through Dec 24th 1996. On Dec 24th i took a polygraph test as i was hooked up to the machine i told the Detectives if i hurt my daughter in any way i want to be punished to the fullest extent of the Law. When i finished the polygraph the Detectives told me it wasn't me. My daughters father refused to take the polygraph 3 times. so they put down he failed. DYFS told me if i left him i would get my daughter back, so i did. Got a place of my own, got a job, did Parenting Classes over 15 times, went to counseling they told me i had 6 months to do all this it took me 1 month to get all my ducks in a row. While doing all this DYFS said it would be better is My daughters father and i got back together i would have a better chance of getting my daughter back so i did. That is when i got told that they were taking her permanently from me and that i was unfit to be a mother so i turned to drugs after my daughter told me how her daddy Rick touched her pp. I told DYFS what had occurred the Visitation Lady wrote i made that up so i could get my daughter back, I went to court and told the Judge i wouldn't put that in my kids head i want her to learn her abc's and 123's and be smarter than me and go to college i told the Judge talk to Jessica she will tell you herself well Mrs.Seaton cut the Judge off and started rambling on so the Judge ignored what i had to say. I cried and turned to drugs cause i had no where to turn and i actually wanted to die without my daughter I couldn't kill myself so i figured the drugs would but they didn't. Then i quit them and got my life back on track < no i didn't get in trouble with the law at this time> Then i got pregnant with my daughter Nicole and DYFS found out and told me nice pad and that they were takingREPORT COMMENTS

DYFS needs to be shut down. They took my daughter because of an argument that occured one night between me and my spouse. She spent two weeks in foster care and is still in custody of DYFS. Get in an argument while intoxicated and your child is taken?! My daughter is a well-adjusted kid that went to the best day dare (I worked my*****off at wendy's just for her to go to preschool.) and her father is a Iraq war veteran. Basically, I feel that, if you are not PERFECT, you child can be kidnapped by DYFS. These people need to be controlled. I am still fighting to get my child back and this organization has the upper hand. If I drink a beer and they find out, I will not get my daughter back. WHAT kind of world has this turned into? Where are our rights? My husband bled and fought for this country only to have our daughter kidnapped by some sick, money making organization. Stop them now!REPORT COMMENTS

I have mixed feelings on this matter. I do agree, that the system needs a complete overhaul. But in some circumstances it isn't right to return children once the have been in a good foster home for years. Think of the 2 year old child taken from the only home she knows. I am the grandmother of such a child and it took 2 years for the foster family to be able to adopt her and yes I am a part of the family. I am also the grandmother of the 9 month old Sherry B. speaks of. I feel that children should be kept in a family and put with loved ones in a timely matter. In this case our grandson should have been moved to Sherry's home by now. Is DYFS unstaffed ?...yes. Is DYFS disorganized...yes. And yes there a few case managers that I feel are bias, I have seen it.. Things have to change all the way around.REPORT COMMENTS

I have been trying to get my grandson out of foster care in NJ since he was 2 months old. Now, he is 9 months old, I took weeks off of work and spent so much money to do everything DYFS asked of me and still they stall. Now they say he needs to be "medically cleared" by every medical professional he's ever been seen by before he can come home to live with family. I know his foster mom wants to adopt him and it makes me sick. Our family may lose this child. More importantly, my grandson may lose his family. We love him and want to give him the best of everything. DYFS stalls and stalls, putting road blocks up. WHY? What can be done?REPORT COMMENTS

I'm looking for an attorney to sue DYFUS, they took my daughter away because we were verbally fighting and put her in one of the case worker's mother's home who is a foster parent..This has to be illegal..My daughter was unmanageable there so they took her and put her in a group home..She ran away, I gave them everything to find her and they didn't do anything..Finally after locating her whereabouts in Bayonne NJ I called the police and they caught her...They are now going to place her back in the group home where she ran away fromREPORT COMMENTS

They say DYFS is there to protect our children but who will protect them from DYFS. DYFS has been in and out of my life for 13 years.They never were able to prove neglect or abuse. 8yrs ago I relapsed after being clean for 2 years, my 3 children were removed. Now 3 weeks ago my 3 little ones were taken by dyfs,saying my husband and I were using again. They didn't have any drug test results back yet.When they got them back,the only thing in my test was from my migraine medication.Yes my husbands did come back for "pot" but he has a year and a half of clean test to show. And I blame DYFS for his relapse. We haven't even got plans or goals for us to get work to in order to get our kids back. DYFS changes around everything to make the parents look bad. I don't have the money to hire a lawyer. My kids are hurting and my husband and I are hurting. We can't do anything to protect our children from the real monsters,DYFS. We all need someone to protect us from DYFS. We need someone to stop DYFS from ruining good happy families.REPORT COMMENTS
