This seems very unfair. I got out 15 years ago and just found the time to go to school to improve my earning capability. I paid into the program and served 7 years on active duty. It seems very unfair to take it away!

I hope this goes through. I'm in the same boat. We served our country and our benefits should be for life. Thank you

I've been a government contractor since separating from the Army in late 1999. As part of my job I've deployed to various locations 5 times in the last 10+ years since my Army service ended, and havinbg been deployed or supporting exrecises around the country so often I've not been able to use my GI Bill benefit, and it's now gone. I paid for that benefit in more ways than just the monetary investment, so I hope the government has used my "donation" wisely. In synopsis, sometimes a decade to use the GI Bill is simply not enough; make it a lifetime thing since we've paid into the benefit already.

Educational benefits and medical should be lifetime for veterans who serve at least two years especially when Congress people may never serve and still get lifetime benefits. Unfair

US NAVY (RET). I paid for my GI BILL Benefits. Proudly and Honorably served for 21 years. Why should I loose my benefit after 10 years? WHY?

Why are Post 9/11 veterans eligible for 15 years and pre-9/11 veterans only eligible for 10 years. Was our service less honorable or valued. Seems, we are the forgotten veterans. Lawmakers STEP UP and give us what we deserve or better.

It's ashame. When I have a chance to do something with my life. I've had a hard time making a life for myself. Using my military teaching I was able to turn my life around. My GI bill expired 4 years ago. I didn't even know about the 10 years. I'm a full time student majoring in computer and electronic engineering. I was crush once I got my letter stating my benefits where denied. I've serviced my country and was put out for a medical discharge. All I'm asking is for 4years of college to get my degree.

I, LIKE MANY OTHERS, COULD NOT AFFORD TO GO TO COLLEGE RIGHT OUT OF THE ARMY. NOW THAT I AM UNEMPLOYED, I CAN GO BECAUSE IN THIS DAY AND AGE EVERYBODY WANTS YOU TO HAVE A DEGREE. UNFORTUNATELY, MY BENEFITS EXPIRED 3 YEARS AGO. IN MY PRESENT CIRCUMSTANCE, THAT EXTRA MONEY FROM THE GI BILL WOULD GO A LONG WAY!!! I DON'T SEE WHY THEY DIDN'T MAKE THAT A PROVISION WHEN THEY MADE THE NEW GI BILL, I AM A DESERT SHIELD/STORM/AND DEFIANCE VETERAN. DID THEY FORGET ABOUT US?!?

"Use it or Loose it" is a disgraceful way to treat those who have served our nation honorably. Lets take care of all of our VETS and give them longer to use the benefits they paid legitimately into.

I served almost 21 years and when I retired I had to immediately take a job where I could keep paying living expenses and the expenses of my children. My entitlement has since expired and now with the economy in the state it is and the loss of my job I could really use the college to get back on my feet.
