The doctors and Vetenarians should work together to learn how to help people with bug problems. We desperate need doctors with more knowledge so they can help this group that really suffers. -

I live in KY and just discovered this terrible thing!! Omg!! I feel insane! Feeling things prick but nothing there! Swear I see lint float by and when I pick it up I can feel it trying to pull away!! I have pictures and videos of this stuff!! One shows a very fine piece of hair that landed on my arm. You can see it bending in half like its moving! I even have random things like fuzz balls and black specks and glitter stuck on my fly trap...not just one or two. I think the parasite is very tiny but latches on to things to camouflage itself. I have been to numerous doctors asking them to check me for demodex thinking that was it but now I am not sure that it is that. They think Im crazy anyway!!! If I keep on they will send me to mental hospital I am sure. My friends and family are worried and praying for me because I "have lost it"! I am an intelligent nurse and am NOT delusional!!! My cats see it!! I see it!! We are all three prisoners in our on skin!!! Cats hide under the bed...I lay in bed with the light on smacking my face and nurses need to be very focused at work!!! I go to work with bags under my eyes looking like I was up all night partying!! What do I say? Sorry I dont sleep. Something crawls on my face at night while I attempt to sleep?! I had a bird problem and thought it was bird mites. Pest control did confirm that I have collembola/ springtail and I have read where they have been known to infest humans. Idk but we need help!!!! The only thing getting me through is praying to God many times a day and asking for strength!! Remember CDC these things may just come knocking on your door so you need to do something before it gets out of control!!REPORT COMMENTS

Would it be possible to move the mites site from Facebook to a medical forum site? Facebook absolutely cannot be trusted to keep anything confidential. Not paranoid, I know for a fact that they sell access to our info to those who will pay for it.REPORT COMMENTS

This started about 18 months ago. The daily rituals I have developed for personal cleansing, removal of bug lint from clothing, housecleaning, and "suiting up for bed", take up ALL of my time and leave only a few hours for sleep. I lost my job because of these things, which were all over the office (fuzzy black specks seen on toilet seats and on desks all around the building, not just places I frequented), and got in my car and home. I could not get enough sleep to function effectively. About 3 weeks into the infestation, sleep deprived, I went to Texas A&M and spoke to an Entomology professor. I had not yet isolated any bug samples, but did shortly after the visit. They could not find a bug in the fuzzballs I gave them from my clothing, which I knew were source of the pricking and crawling sensations. They told me to check into Morgellons, and that was that. I have come to be able to identify these bugs when I see them. They are often coated with fibers from the clothing I'm wearing, and I know that they move about, as I will find fuzzballs with fibers from my pants on a differently colored shirt. Every morning I wake up with tiny brown oblong things in the corners of my eyes - the bugs. My spouse is not bothered by these things at all, though they're all over their clothing. I am highly educated, completely sane and rational, a classically trained scientist, made over $100,000 a year before this, and now am reduced to a reclusive science experiment. I know I am not alone with this, as I see these fuzzballs and glittery bits that also seem to accompany them, in public restrooms and clothing stores (both low-end and high-end). Please CDC, do your job because this is a spreading public health issue and a private hell.REPORT COMMENTS

Only last night did I consider the possibility that my skin might be infested with some type of bug. I have had crawling sensations (especially at night) for about a month now but I do have long thin hair that does that sometimes, so I thought nothing of it. There were also centipedes in my apartment which I am scared of so I thought I was hallucinating the sensation out of fear. We have since got rid of them and last night it hit me. I recalled seeing many tiny little bugs I would smash, usually when I am taking notes for school. The one last night jumped a couple inches every time I tried to smash it. It looked different than the others it was rod shaped. They are not confined to my apartment, I have seen them multiple places which supports the idea that I am the thing they are living in/on. I felt crazy but seeing that so many others experiencing the same things, even with physical evidence, is reassuring. I feel them even now on my shins, around my knees, chin, nose and scalp. I hope I caught it early and I can fix it.REPORT COMMENTS

I ask that you please find treatment and cure for this debilitating disesse. I have been suffering for 9 months, have tried topical and oral medications. Have been seen by doctor, demagogues and told nothing there, even when bites, skin rashes and swelling are visible. I have even used alternative medicine and insecticides. Nothing helps. We are not in a third world country and have modern medicine, but yet we all are suffering including whole families. Medical professionals, scientist need to acknowledge this disease exists and find its cure. Stop the ignorance and arrogant nay sayers, the human race is being by attack by unknown parasites and you say we are delusional. You can do something about it. But yet u continue to ignore it, we do not need war to kill its people, but u stand by and watch the disease rage without mercy and destroy. There is no hope if the people in the goverment and CDC lie and ignore our cries. U have the power to commence the healing and gain the trust and loyalty of the people. I remember a quote from lincoln goes like this "give a man power and u will see his true character", be true, merciful, loyal, get the work started between all and find an answer. Please God Bless and be merciful.REPORT COMMENTS

Advanced stages I too believe some type of myiasis. Afflicted for years with all of the bird mite symptoms already mentioned. The lesions /sores take months to heal, left with scars. My mouth has been adversely affected. Despite tens of thousands of dollars spent on restorative dental care.( teeth used to be healthy). My teeth are falling out! Very unsightly. Obviously I have been forced to spend money that was allocated for important things like RENT on my teeth. The dentists are perplexed. They ask me how all of the pulp has been removed inside my teeth without an abscess . So cruel how modern medicine and the CDC have turned their backs on this.REPORT COMMENTS

My latest hypothesis is that it is black myasis. It is mostly the larval stages that can live on/in a human. But I do think I found a live fly or two on me. I think the black fly is worse in areas where it wasn't so much a problem in a past due to climate change. But regardless of what it actually is doctors need to quit being so hasty to believe their patients are imagining things. Human doctors should be more like veterinarians and take concerns about ectoparasites seriously as I think that human infestation is only going to increase. Species of parastic microorganisms and those visible by the naked eye are adopting to better suit their environment and are becoming resistant to known treatments ((through natural selection) as in the individuals that survive are able to reproduce and make it so that the next generation is resistant to the treatment. This is how bacteria becomes resistant to antibiotics over time and how "super "lice now exists. So it is now more important than ever that doctors preform skin scrapping to look for and identify ectoparasites instead of assuming that their patients are "tripping". Also performing routine fecal flotation with humans as people do with their pets will lead to a better quality of life for humans. Also seeking natural remedies along with standard western medicine is a good idea. Neem oil and tea tree oil may help some fellow suffers with external parasitic infestations that haven't been diagnosed. Also lice shampoo that contains permethrin can help also might want to treat environment with this insecticide.REPORT COMMENTS

Phoenix Metro area of Arizona. City dweller. Two years with this torment. Skin gets all tore up, seems to make lesions that are a nesting spot and takes months to go away only to move to another skin location. Face, hands forearms, elbows and back of neck are the worst spots on me. I have to battle this daily with long skin care routines or it would be everywhere as it once was. I manage this, but have never eradicated it. Started around May of 2014. One night, just an explosion of a skin crawling sensation that was quite alarming, then lesions/sores that take months to go away and lots of stuff exiting the skin. Black specs, greyish larvae, brownish larvae, red little balls/eggs, sand-like crystals and lots of stuff that hurts. I had creepy things roll out of my eye (lash area) and corner of eyes and tear ducts. They all looked like eggs. Super scary. Still deal with it, some days it is really bad, like it is a life cycle, other days not as bad. But the sores never leave, just re-locate. Smelly stuff makes them roll out much faster. I have to use Peppermint DR. Bronner's liquid soap two to three times over and over in just one shower to get all the crust/bio-film type stuff off each sore to get these worm-like thing to un hook from my skin each day twice a day. So tiring. It has helped tremendously. Please note, for me, I find that after washing the area with this soap and letting it sit, it only stings when something is inside the sore, but as I rub it with a "pushing a doorbell" type motion, rubbing by pressing down hard in a clockwise hard motion, then a counter-clockwise motion, it cause it to un-latch, then I can yank that cr@p out. It is a ball and or a worm like thing every time, sometimes several come out as I repeat the steps after rinsing, I just do the area two or more times same procedure. You feel a lot of sand like stuff afterwards and then I just put coconut oil on a few minutes and rinse. Long showers. I finally rub down the entire body from head to toe with a brush and hands to make sure there is not a straggler that rolled down to another part of my body. This has helped a lot. This seems to be going all over the USA. I really hope someone you love does not get this. It ruins your skin and make you feel helpless. Some people are stronger than others and get on, others freak out and panic and maybe worse as many post discuss. This needs to be solved. Many people who have or will get this cannot afford to treat themselves with even a few of the self-remedies and some are disabled...what do they do? Suffer even more than us who are able-bodied. Shame on you for dis-regarding this. This is a pestilence that may become epidemic. I do believe it spreads. I have no idea how I got it. I can think of many possibilities, but no pinpoint. That should alarm everyone. It will be in all households...just look how many people and how many states are on this petition...and that is here in the USA. BREPORT COMMENTS

There was a terrible infestation of Chiggers in Spring of 2015 in Delray Beach FL. You couldn't walk into a local Home Depot without walking out with Chiggers. Even the HD cashiers were tormented. Since then I have not been able to rid my home of these critters. I'm a well educated IT tech for a large company and am not crazy. My house is up for sale as I don't know what else to do but get out of town. Can't someone find out what is going on? This appears to be some kind of biological warfare with little or no action taken by our government or health agencies.REPORT COMMENTS
