These laws created by people in government are unfair to those who have to work everyday and pay these unfair and high amounts of child support. While i work everyday my ex does nothing but sit back and collect this free money . The laws need to change and change soon its unconstitutional to force men into a money slavery that only puts him into debt further and further hopelessness . You cant collect money from a dead father

Also should have legal representation for the fathers as well when pit on child support. Instead of costing the father to pay thousands to be represented to have no worry's of hiked monthly support. Because that case worker is not in the interest of the father but the mother. Then about visitation what's not included with out legal representation. Because the case worker and judge don't care about the father seeing his child or if he have other kids he takes care of. So this law is to keep men traped and financially unstable to live.

I am tired of us almost being homeless and my other children not on welfare. Suffering, things need to change. Because I choose to work and he didn't I have to pay for his new wife, her cars and he lives and works for his dad. My son goes without because I can't even get Medicaid or food stamps while he and his wife buys new cars and travel quite frequently. How do I owe interest when I didn't agree to a loan. Where's my loan to put food on the table or basic items. Why does my earned income credit go to pay for other children? That shouldn't be taken because all that proves is welfare kids are more important, my son is adhd and needs therapy for his eyes. Is going blind and I can't afford to help him. Change things now.

Women get a free ride on the systems abuse to the husband, because of bad seed husbands beating them and abusive behavior. And the court don't use a case by case system. So every man is considered guilty in the systems eyes. This needs to be address at US Supreme Court and final laws put in place by the US Congress to stop the abusive behavior of women and lawyers using the systems of Social Security, Welfare and the Justice System automatically assuming the man, men or husband is guilty. The Supreme Court Civil Law states all people are presumed Innocent when being issued to appear into the court of law in front of a judge. And this Law needs to be Enforce first and reminded the judges that if they can't follow the law they will be disbarred from serving the law in the courts. And lawyers need to take note that they will be put on notice of abusing the systems and the law of the courts in the United States of America, that they to can be disbarred from such actions. That being said if such fault play is found to be part of the Social Security and Welfare Systems superiors, workers and lawyers that a judge will issue subpoenas to people of these and other outside organizations to get to the real problem of the system. Actions will be taken to fine them and disbar them or desertification to not ever work for or consult with in the reaches system again. Then we will get to see some innocent until proving guilty in the court of laws in the United States of America to full work at its best.

My bank account was just levied for an minimal amount of arearrages while my other ex walks out of court paying a paltry 251$ a month of current child support. So let get this straight, they put a levy on every penny I have, threaten (and may still) too take my drivers license, and report this "unpaid" amount to the credit beaurea, all for an adult that is now over 20 years old while I support 3 children (7mo's, 2, & 11) and wife full time in college. The levy was placed the day before the ruling from the judge that I even owed it at all. And the attorney that sued me is also supposed to be working for me. I swear they want me to fire DHR by doing a horrible job. My ex just spoke up in court that she's working 38hrs and they didn't say anything about the current support being based off 26 hours a week or increasing it. There are many grevious errors and nothing being done about them after complaints to state representatives, congressme, and adminstration. But that's OK because judicial review is coming.

While my ex makes triple what I make. I would love to know who to write to. Because it is time something is done to help parents. I will never be able to own my own home, or even rent.

I was ordered child support in 2001 and got 69.00 a week for a year. I worked with my sons father only for him to leave the state for 2 yrs and not have contact with his son. When he did return he stayed at my house for a year with no job. I went out of my way to help this man even when he wouldn't pay. In 2010 my son went to live with him for the better school district ( I still had custody). I picked him up everyday, kept insurance on him, and did the doctor visits. In 2014 he tried to cut me off from seeing my son! In sept. 2015 he was given custody and I was ordered to pay 93.00 a week all the way back to Jan. of 2015. Now I'm being garnished 133.00 weekly. I cant pay my bills and was denied my back support of 50,000. They are now saying my support order was only good for a year. How is this fair. I think I went above what I should have! He still keeps my 16 year old from me.

Fathers need to have equal representation of parental rights. If there is 50/50 custody, no child support should be paid to either party. The amount of child support paid each month should be reduced when the child is of school age. My boyfriend has a son who is 7 years old, he pays $780/month (Almost double his portion of rent). My boyfriend can hardly afford to live/move forward with his life... and HE WORKS 7 DAYS A WEEK! The income of both parties should be taken into consideration, and child support should not exceed a certain percentage of income (20% for example). Maybe women should have to submit expense reports of some kind. This system is horrible and broken, and fathers suffer unfairly.

The system is legal extortion. I have lost my house and my wife. Living check to check is horrible. Sixteen years and I am still paying for my twins who have jobs but go to school. One does well, the other not performing at all. Got a lawyer and spent thousands to get help. After 8 months I am where I began. I live with my parents now. I have nothing and fear I can't live like this anymore. You can't collect money from a dead man.

I as the father of three amazing kids was planning on going for full custody based on how there mother was. I did my research online. Every where it told me to be straight up and not make it a surprise for the other party. So i did just that, I told me ex that i was going to ask for custody and if she went against it I would fight for them. Two days later I was falsely accused of Assault and Battery. She used this to manipulate me because she knows I would do anything for my kids and that I want to be with them so bad. I ended up having to give her primary custody. On normal schedule she has them only 13 more days then I do through out the whole year, not including my holidays and vacations (end up with more day but I'm not complaining about that). I have to pay 40% (before taxes) of my yearly income, not leaving me with enough to live on my own. It caused me to move back in with my parents as i couldn't even afford to rent a studio. If It were up to me I would have the court check on the parents. My kids complain that they wish they could live with me more and things that they tell me that happen that aren't ok but the system supports females in a way that is can really mess up a fathers relationship with their kids. If i didn't have my parents that were nice enough to even let me in there house again I would of had to give up my days with my kids because I would of needed a second or even a THIRD job to be able to just pass by. It's not hard to see who is really involved and cares for there kids if the system just put some effort.

My brother-in-law has been court-ordered under Minnesota state law to pay alimony to his ex-wife decades after their divorce, because the laws in that state require it. Their children are adults now, but because she is a resident of Minnesota and suffers from a disability, he has been coerced by the punitive laws in that state indefinitely. He is now literally dying from complications of his own after a string of financial setbacks to his own economic betterment and well-being. After losing a few jobs because the contract has ended, he has not only suffered from financial hardship from lack of work opportunities, but the added and unnecessary stress of paying for someone else's livelihood even though the domestic arrangement has been annulled years ago. Now it is too late to reverse what should have been non-binding after their children have grown. It's time to end this legal requirement of alimony for life at any cost.

I was taken to court for cs when I was unemployed relying on student loans to pay my bills. After finally finding a job, I get the final court order in the mail. I make 33 percent of the total income, I also had both of my children 5 days a week while the mother worked while I was unemployed. She did not help with lunch for the kids during the week. Again I make 33 % of our total income and still have to pay 486/month. I do not have enough money to pay my bills and mortgage. Child support is very very unfair.

My wife and I were both self employed REALTORS, Some years she made more money than I did, other years I made more. We had two daughters, we both shared parenting duties. Friends tell me my wife began planning our divorce two years before she served me paperwork. Those two last years she dropped her income to nothing and I picked up the slack. Once served paperwork, she kicked me out of the family house, we shared the kids 50/50 for about 6 months but then she decided she wanted them more than that, hired a dirty lawyer who bent the law to take them from me, Now wife who is the same age as me, perfectly healthy, has the same profession as me and stole my children from me is getting $1000 a month from me in child support AND claiming I need to work even more so that I can send her MORE money in child support. I can no longer afford the little townhouse I moved into or my car and I miss my daughters terribly. How can the courts allow this? I'm a college grad, served honorably for 10 years in the USAF and have no criminal background. Why should I be forced to take care of this lying cheating whore who stole my children from me and has the ability to make just as much money as I do? The summer we were separated and I had the children 50% of the time I still tripped her income, not because I'm any smarter, but because I'm willing to work harder and would never accept or expect handouts.

I have to say this system could not be more broken, i am the non custodial father, who was honest through and through, i work full time, only to struggle, because of my 600 a month payments, and i literally have him every day after school until 7 30 and every weekend except for once a month, so she basically has him only during sleep and school time, yet she still has the much higher %! How is this fair??? She also lives with her boyfriend and apenda all the money on him and herself, in a nice apt while i had to move back home and struggle because calculations are based on GROSS not NET which is a bunch of bs!! Im getting totally hosed, because its basically a brolen calculator with no feelings, this needs to change

This whole system is a joke. You have men who work over 40 hours a week having half their checks going to a mother who doesn't work and gets tax free money (paid for by the father!) Then you have guys who don't pay a dime, are thousands of dollars in arrears, and yet they go free. Of course on the flip side, you have women who use child support as a weapon, either because they felt slighted, the man left them, whatever stupid reason they can come up with. The whole thing is a joke and needs to be completely destroyed and rebuilt in a fair manner for both parents, but more importantly for the children.

My husband's ex left him and took their children. She took them to her boyfriends home and he soon became her husband. My husband lost his home and had to file bankruptcy. He has been paying her consistently and recently moved close so he could share the responsibility of raising them. He took her to court and the judge said no to reduction of child support. He has been giving her so much money over the years there's not much left to plan anything other than paying bills and getting groceries. The laws are so unfair!! She works but claims to make much less than him. So what if she makes less...she has a husband and the kids are provided for in both homes. The system definitely needs to be changed and child support shouldn't be given when the visitation is split!

My boyfriend makes minimum wage and has 2 kids. He is having to pay her over $400 a month in child support and after taxes he is left with less than $600 a month to pay rent/bills/transportation/food and take care of his kids on the weekends as well. It's impossible. She works 2 days a week so she can stay home and babysit her live in boyfriends young son. She needs to work full time or try to work from home or something. It's impossible to support 2 households on minimum wage. The courts are promoting poverty and homelessness and that should be illegal to do. Just so this man can pay child support, if he were homeless, or in jail (for not paying), the government would have to pay an outrageous amount for his housing/food/medical. It makes no sense. I understand the kids need to be supported but how supportive is it if they see their father struggling, living in a shelter, not having enough food to eat, depressed, suicidal. That's not good for the kids either is it? If she wanted out of the marriage, she needs to find a way to support her kids. Because on minimum wage, there's only so much a human being can do. He's disabled but chooses to work, so he can only do certain jobs so it's impossible for him to find 2 jobs he can do that are scheduled at the right hours. He's trying and the system is failing him. Something needs to be fixed.
