I am a female and am very upset with the ststem. In ohio a woman can go cheat on her husband, have a baby by another man while still married, and live with another man and still receive alimony and child support. Woman are given to much control. I know mothers collecting child support for children that the father has just as much as the mother. Mothers are no better than father's and if they choose to live they should have to work and support their children also. It sickens me that a good father how pays a mother good money is told by his children that mom buys this and that but you don't buy anything. Yet 1000 dollars a month is paid to a woman for her children. This same woman can go buy tattoos and her daughter that doesn't have a father that is paying child support dresses better than the children who receive child support because the NON CUSTODIAL parent is still supporting the woman who cheated on him along with her new children... wow.. I am so amazed that every child support case is handled the same.. wake up people. There are men who get cheated on also and love their children and would love to raise their children.. I am a nurse and make good money, but even with that I do not spend 500 Dallas a month on each of my children, even with providing a roof over their heads. Yes... they was always well dressed and had alot if nice things, but really ? If I had to pay that we would have lived in a box even with what I make.. eye opener, not every situation is the same. Some father's want their children and some don't. Stop grouping good father's with baby makers. These laws give the custodial parents to much control. Their are children being used to control the non custodial parents and it is sick and abuse..if we want to get this thing right , what needs to be done is stop see who makes the most money.. if it cost 500 dollars a child split it down the middle. Stop making one parent pay all expenses..... it takes a man and a woman to make a baby.. -

Ok long story short. I got physical custody of my three boys. In 2007. I payed child support for a year after because the courts failed to process the proper paper work. Was taken back to court countless times by my X because she wanted custody of my boys. I have had the children since 2007 and never received child support. The courts were completely aware that she didn't pay child support. As a matter of fact when I brought it up in court I was told all my X had to do was just pay for transportation for visitation. Then I separated from a long term relationship we had 2 children.i have been paying 50% of my salary plus all medical. And the ironic thing is the case with my X wife and the case with my X girlfriend is both in the same court house. So woman doesn't pay a dime but the man looses everything. The courts need to be purged and also the politicians.REPORT COMMENTS

I am paying 1239.00 dollars a month plus all medical Co payments and dental. My kids receive 280 a month for social security as well. The mother has no job and a new boyfriend who lives with her who has no job. How the hell am I responsible to provide financially for two adults and two kids. Pay or go to jail. Why can't food,clothing and sports gear be pro rated for the needs of the child. The custodial parent wanting the children should be responsible for the place to live and electric. But because the chiLoren are there they are entitled to the non custodial to pay all the bills as well. How does this even sound right. Please fix this broke corrupt system of letting non custodial parents live their life with a free pay check and extra incentive to live carelessly. Something has got to give.REPORT COMMENTS

In Indiana, the mother's and the father's income are taken into account, as well as who pays insurance, etc. The state of Illinois, however, has an inexcusably simple chart of 1-5 children = 20-45%. - even now, with only one child, My husband paid 45% of his income to his ex-wife for their 5 children, for many many years. The state of Illinois sucked him dry with their one sided, overly-simplified child support laws. Now that the youngest is emancipated, the state made up a $22,000 back-support issue. He has records of all his payments, that have been made faithfully, and we are going through an appeal process. There is nothing, at all that we can find on online records to explain their claim. However, they just started taking out money again! He is paying 20%... she just graduated, and because of this supposed "back support" we are still paying 20% for a child who doesn't even live with his ex-wife. We were so overjoyed to be done, and now they are CONTINUING in the name of back support, that they have yet to prove to us. Now we will have to incur Legal fees to take his ex wife to court to get the money back - that we shouldn't have paid in the first place... which she is probably merrily spending as I type. There should be accountability for these systems being logical and fair.REPORT COMMENTS

I haven't seen my kids since November...I'm a disabled veteran and I have reached out to her multiple times and she refuses me contact including sending her boyfriend to threaten me just for trying to see my children. I'm being told I have to pay child support, but can't afford a lawyer to do anything about even getting custody. Yet she can do all this stuff and nothing I say or do makes a difference. I'm the bad guy every time I turn around and not a damn thing is said or done about it at all. The judge even told me, "not my problem you haven't seen your kids. My problem is you paying child support for those kids." What the hell is that?? Even more is all the hateful things the mother of my kids says toward me involving my kids and using them as pawns and against me...I'm so lost right now I don't know what steps to take or routes to use...and it feels like nobody is on my side with this at all.REPORT COMMENTS

Child support is a million dollar business for the state. The system says it's here for the children but this is far from the truth. The truth is that both parents should be financially responsible for the need of the children. You can take a man for 50 percent of his paycheck? I dated a girl for about 3 weeks before she cheated on me and ran off with another guy . The guy was literally one month out of jail when she did this . So I found out she was pregnant , when I confronted her about it she said it was the other guys . I even begged her to take me back and let me in the kids life , all she did was ignore me and tell me it was the other guys . Well a couple of months went by and this lovely guy that she cheated on me with ended up back in prison , only this time it was for seventeen years . So eventually she decided to come around , except for the fact I moved on in life and now she didn't like it . So now that her guy that she cheated on me with is in jail she needs a way to fix her actions . The United States government should be ashamed of the child support laws they enforce , especially when our government should be holding some of these woman accountable for their mistakes in life . Amount of work my sweetheart does for each of her children! Plues work more then 66 if not more as a stay at home mom, three dead beat father who rufes to pay a penny in monthly support! Children care is too much, working around kids rountines, she currently has no friends or goes out! There a lot more that these kinda mom desves! Parent who stay at home and use the money to support there high dallor look, drugs, new cars and don't put any efford to raise that child with love and respect, I would also throw in drug testing too! What child support this pass a drug test! I sweetheart struggling with no help from three deadbeats while they support high dollar girlfriend.. She also walks because she can't afford to get the car fixed, because paying for washer and dryer and an icebox for the kids was more important to her to maintain health living evorment..REPORT COMMENTS

Women want equality, yet the laws in place for whatever reason, are anything but equal. Part of the reason for the break down of our modern society is a direct result of limiting the father's role as a child's parent, or even removing him from the child's life, giving full power to the "mother"?
