I think my husband should be supporting the children he made as a reckless teenager, but not seeing any of the money he gives to the woman he got pregnant is unfair. There should be some sort of accountability for the money he gives. The children do not have new clothes, shoes, enough food at her house, but she always has a new piercing, tattoo, or her hair done. Receipts should be shown where this money is going to make sure it is spent on the children.

I pay 1,000 dollars a month for two kids I never get to see. I'm in the military and stationed overseas. Sometimes she doesn't let me talk to them. When we fight about something she won't answer her phone for two weeks so I rarely get to talk to my kids. She won't use her Skype and she took away my son's Xbox so we have no way of talking. She's doesn't pay rent and hasn't worked in 5 years. In the last three years I got to see them about 10 days. She won't let them fly over to Japan and I have no extra money to pay for a lawyer. I have a new wife and we just had a baby. I think 20-25% of a father's paycheck is real unfair. She just bought a brand new 2016 Chevy truck. My money is directly being used for her personal needs. I pay for the kids baseball and basketball leagues. I'm glad I have Tricare for medical and that only cost me 80 dollars, but I pay that too. I would think there would be a better process for determining the account of money it takes to raise a child. My little sister get's less then 100 dollars a month in child support and has two kids. My wife used to only get 200 dollars a month. So if the system is fair..how come one man pay's 1600 and another pays 100 a month. A women can have a kid with one man..boom she gets 1000 dollars and turns around and has a kid with another man and boom another 1000 dollars. She makes 24k a year sitting at home doing nothing. How is this fair? We make it too easy to them. To be HONEST I don't mind paying 1,000 to help raise my kids..if all that money went to their needs and I'm still well off after paying that money. What about the women you only get 100 dollars a month? If you don't change the laws I would like you to average it out among mother's. Don't let one make 24k a year and the other one make 1k a year. Make a fair percentage 15% and average it out to all mom's.

I am required to pay 1600 monthly for my twin boys I see once or twice a month if I'm lucky. The mother never meets me halfway and the money I spend in gas and car repairs is a huge burden. The system is absolutely flawed for fathers who don't have split or primary custody. I work long hours so I can take care of my boys I rarely get to see. Change needs to happen and needs to happen soon. Fathers play a huge role in the lives of their kids!

I became sick a few years ago, and asked my family to watch my kids whilst i healed. well, long story short they stole them, wont give them back to me and wont even let me talk to my girls. my cousin (who stole my kids) makes 120000 a year, showed up to my work got me fired.. and then got 768 from me every month even though i only made 6.25 an hour. out system is sad and corrupt, it allowed my bigoted family steal my baby girls, and then allowed them to take every penny i make. its no wonder why so make turn to end their life after something like this, they cant live and can be with the babies they brought into this world. something needs to change, but it wont just like you congress doesn't care about vet, they only care about passing bs laws, and making their pockets fatter, well shame on our government.

I don't care what gender you are, the laws are currently designed to make it harder on whatever parent is charged to pay support. The current system is very rarely used for its intended purpose which is to support the kids, not to be used as a tool to control or hurt the ex. The system over charges then when u can't pay the ridiculous amounts the parent is jailed and their license revoked. How does this help support the kids? It doesn't. I have been on both ends of this as the receiver and the payer. I never felt the laws were fair. I don't believe parents and children should be punished for being poor. I do not agree with legally sanctioned abuse or extortion in any form and that's what these laws perpetrate by proxy.

I live in ga. When me and my ex split up I went to the child support office to sighn up,when I did they never told me that a judge will come behind me and also sighn it making it a court order I have never been to court,i have gotten behind on the child support and they have suspended my license making it very hard and expensive to get to work. The mother of my son has since been busted with a methlab at her house, she told on some people and got out of it,and moved to wesr virginia, now she tells me that she has to move from where she is at cause that house has became a dope house,my sons safety is being put in jeopardy and i cant get no help, she lies to my son and tells him I dont try to get in touch with him,and i can prove it.she also dont give him the gifts i have sent him. Me and my wife had a daughter 3 years ago and the child support office refuses to modify my support.so since my daughter was born they have been charging me double of what i should be paying,it would make it easier for me to pay if I was being charged the right amount.I dont get to see my son cause my license is suspended and she has fled 700 miles away.this is completely obsurd and dangerous for my son please help

The Child support laws in KY are not fair at all, my ex is trying to get 800 a month from me while I try to pay my bills. my ex and her boyfriend own a house together but they don't consider his income at all because they aren't married. my daughter is 8 tell me how it takes 800 a month to raise her plus I pay all medical and have to hold 3 jobs to pay my own bills. I had to cut off cable and I don't have any money at the end of each pay period to do anything at all if I need new shoes or cloths I have to budget for and try to save what I can for a few months or go without food, while my ex went on 2 vacations this year one to VA beach for a week and the other to Alaska for 2 weeks. really seams fair child support should be what it cost to raise the child only not the other persons new lifestyle and all income should be taken into consideration. but the rate needs to be set at something a lot lower and it should be based off your take home pay not the gross pay.

I have to pay for chld support and then try to buy here what she really needs. I don't blame my ex she is she is just taking advantage of an unfair system. Because she legally can!!!!

I struggle taking care of my financial responsibilities because I pay so much in child support. The fact that I pay enough to have a loan on a 50000$ vehicle and pay the full coverage insurance on it (and then some), to her, every month, is RIDICULOUS. Not to mention, I have my son just as much, if not more than his mother does. Me and my wife have two small compact cars that all three kids have to squeeze in, every time we want to go somewhere. WHERE IS MY MONEY FOR A 50000$ CAR?

I just finished my fiduciary responsibility to my child I have paid all the fees from the Department of Revenue and now I'm being told I still owe almost $900 in interest on a debt that was paid for in full. I was also told it was because the times I got behind interest on those amounts. Now instead of being free to collect some kind of paperwork stating that I am paid in full I find interest...... from May 20 something 2000 the year 2000 so of course I don't ever remember being served or given due process or receiving any correspondence concerning interest on a debt that I already been paid

I am a working mom. I have been working for the past 23 years of my 40 year life. I have two children. My youngest didnt like my rules of the house and how I would not deal with her shit. So she moved to the easier parent who happens to have had 30 jobs or more in the last 20 years, who thinks he is a rock start and currently unemployed. I am dont make a******ton of money but I do well and the state of washington thought I should pay $660 dollars a month. Now that is not far considering that her father was court ordered to pay only $350 dollar. I believe that child support should be based on what it cost to raise a child. Not what they think they should have like a Iphone, tablet or internet or spending money to go buy a pair of $300 jeans. It does not take $600, $500 or even $300 dollars to raise a 15 year old. I agree it cost that much a month or more for a child at a younger age bracket, but the state said it cost more to raise teenagers. I still dont get it to this day, considering that the teenagers are never home, and most of them want to work. I am dumb founded by how the laws on child support are. I agree if you are capable of working you should get off your ass, including the fathers who collect support like my daughters.

Child support should be set a limit lower than half of the father payment in order to get mother to get off ssi and w2. And it will also in courage men to get jobs without having to work for nothing! And for the most part bring down crime!

After 17 years my husband finds out that he has a son and is being petitioned for child support. Now, he is active duty military and has been so all those years. He has done everything right as far as securing his future and having good credit. He's the guy that buys the homeless man breakfast on his way to work. And now over half of his income is being taken for child support and his credit is shot because he has 10,000 in back support that they think he should pay also. For a child he never even knew about. Not only does he have the emotional aspect of getting to know his son after 17 years, he's being screwed financially and credit wise. After cashing in a retirement fund to pay off some of the revolving monthly bills just to be able to afford the monthly child support payments, his "arrearage" is going on his credit. They don't even care about the family that this is negatively affecting. There should be some sort of checks and balances to prevent this so negatively affecting the actual good guys. Had he known all those years he had a son, he would have been there.

There is no incentive for a single parent to control themselves from having more children as the new nor is to rely on child support to live. The custodial should be entitled to the base pay of the non custodial parent only. Overtime, bonuses, etc... should not be considered as it should push for the custodial parent to work and provide in a responsible manner being that there are two separate households for the child or children. As is around 50% of the non custodials check is taken from taxes and child support and therefore makes it difficult to obtain a decent house loan, savings bonds (for college or future needs) and the day to day clothing and food. The economy is unstable for most and prices continue to rise and some pay rates do not follow. To work overtime to get ahead and then find out it goes to the other parent is demoralizing and offers little motivation to advance for the better.
