I have not seen my child in 10 years and I live in TX. Child support keeps harassing me over and over again. My child is 16 not but I'm never late paying my support but in those 10 years child won't make it fair for me to see my child. Child support is wrong if it's not equal.REPORT COMMENTS

This whole thing is insane. It isn't all the man's fault it isn't all the woman's fault it is, as usual a certain percentage of each group that makes life miserable for the rest of us!! My girlfriend moved out on May 1st because I didn't support her "dream" of opening a beauty salon. It wasn't that I don't support her I don't support quitting your job that provides insurance for our son, and opening a salon, a block away from the most successful salon in a sleepy shore community in NJ with only $4,000 total in savings and a newborn child. I make @ $60,000 a year and now because we aren't married, she is able to keep me from seeing my son, won't allow it until I agree to pay her $1,500 a month plus his health insurance and hers while she has no income and realizes her dream. So now I don't see my son, a son I love and wish to be a huge part of his life, until we go to court. I'm now paying $350 an hour for a lawyer because somehow our system protects idiots!! How can the court refuse an emergency petition and allow the child to stay in the custody of a parent who has no means to provide for him?? I refuse to support her fat lazy*****and that's what the $1,500 is. Common sense should kick in somewhereREPORT COMMENTS

I don't know if this is going to be everywhere, but here in San Antonio they brought up on the news that they are going to pass a law where they can deny your vehicle registration on your vehicle if you are behind 6 months or more. How was i not supposed to end up getting behind when they take more than 50% of my paycheck on top of having to pay for health insurance? l struggle paycheck to paycheck as it is and can barely afford food in my own fridge at times and I am behind in all bills. I cant even afford to get my kids and spend time with them because i can't afford to feed them also which is so frustrating to not be able to do. The ex doesn't even work, gets to be on housing, gets food stamps, has a new guy living with her, my son and her 3 other kids from different dads. Everything I pay is through the system and I always hold a job. The only reason i began to fall behind was due to some jobs going out of business and also trying to find better paying jobs to be able to stop this bleeding that never ends. None of that is fair. The mother should be required by law the same as the father to hold a job and not just sit back and watch money come in.REPORT COMMENTS

The system is incredibly corrupt! Doesn't matter what the facts are or how much proof you have (a reading disability, PTSD, Personality and Avoidancy Disorder, shattered elbow and collar bone, lung surgery, custody of kids through protective services) and they STILL insist on collecting money for the child abusing mother who continues to abuse the children mentally by ignoring them for the last seven years and crying for more money. 2Peter3:8REPORT COMMENTS

The sad part about child support is having to be forced to live paycheck to paycheck I have my kids roughly 15 days a month yet I still have to pay $879 every month. I pay for full medical, dental, vision, and childcare (2 days a week) and still have to deal with all the derogatory comments my ex wife makes. I'm not *****ing about what she does but what I'm *****ing about is not having money to spend with my kids. I barely have enough to survive on my own let alone enjoy the little things in life with them. If I was a dead beat dad and just up and abandoned my kids I can understand this law, but I'm here for them, in every shape and form.REPORT COMMENTS

If my Son's mother bank account is 100 times larger than mine, how is it fair that I have to continue to live paycheck to paycheck. I understand that if we're both making the same amount then it would be for the "best interests of the child". However, if the sole conservator is not working and has the funds to care for the child with no issues then why is the court forcing the struggling parent to give more as he advances in life? The court should review the primary parent and enforce that the child's mental, and emotional needs are there on a regular basis if they want to continue collect child support. As for me, I'm constantly being reviewed and asked to show proof that I'm following my orders. When there is a mistake in the Child Support System, I have to set aside time to pull up my records, hire a lawyer for court, just to show that I'm doing what was asked. I'm constantly using what I have and apply for loans to correct a mistake/errors from the other party.REPORT COMMENTS

I have an ex wife, who makes $1.88 less per hour than I do but chooses to work 24 hrs per week. We have school aged children. I take care of our children 191 days per year or more to her 174 but because they sleep at her house mon thru Thursday, she gets all the benefits. If it's all about the children, why put the dad in a position where he has to struggle. Make both parents equally responsible. Eliminate child support and make both parents equally responsible. I support my children and provide a roof, clothing and food. Why should I have to do it at my ex wife's house too. With child support she now brings in more than me with her working part time. Our children would benefit greatly if she did her part and left me alone so I can do mine. Time for fairness!REPORT COMMENTS

There is no reason for such unfair child support guidelines. A mother, voluntarily works part time (has a good paying job), lives at home with her Mom and Dad (paying $500 a month in rent, so she says but cant come up w/ proof of that), Dad works FULL time, lives on his own, and because of the gap in income which Mom chooses by working part time Father is ordered to pay OVER $1400 A MONTH in child support, and Father is ordered to pay 64% of medical and dental while Mom pays 36% based on the income gap she created, Dad ordered to have the kids 3 days a week, gets them off the bus, takes them to dinner, and returns them to Mom in time for bed. But because those evening aren't "overnight" Mom still gets full credit! Mom and Dad make the same hourly wage, there is no reason these kids expenses aren't shared 50/50.REPORT COMMENTS

The federal government and states across this nation have created a disgusting situation where they have turned men who work hard and try to do what is right into cash cows for the taking. I am not even divorced or paying child support, yet everyday I have to live in fear of a woman who understands the law and uses it to her advantage. Constant threats, intimidation and verbal abuse of what she going to do to me in court if I don't "play ball" and do things her way. Who can tell her different? With the advent of no fault divorce it doesn't even matter if she cheats on me even if I can prove it in VA! The government has turned working class men into institutional slaves while empowering women to the point they have become monsters with no restraint. The whole child support system is slavery that is enforced with use of unconstitutional DEBTORS PRISON. Stop the madness, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!REPORT COMMENTS

No, CancelJun 14th, 2016Someone from Accokeek, MD writes:
The Maryland as well as national child support laws are nothing more than a RICO level scam! With the Feds giving "financial" incentives to the states to collect as much as it can from fathers. The more the states collect the more income they receive from the Feds. Courts, Judges, States Attorney's, and support enforcement officials are motivated only to keep the money/income flowing under the guise of ?best interests of the child.? Thus they will do ANYTHING to that end even trample on the rights of (only) fathers in these unfair acts under the guise of law. This is a corrupt system and is rigged against all fathers everywhere. Even if you appeal, the environment of political correctness we have will allow the appeal courts to simply ignore the law and us as fathers being treated unjustly. This system has the distinct stench of gender bias in our family courts/systems and when you combine unfair child support practices with false domestic violence charges that mothers use as a tactic in family matters, you have a perfect storm of gender biased bigotry and State financial greed. These systems seeks to destroy families, destroy the bonds between fathers and children, and create a whole society of angry children who grow up to be angry adult parents and the cycle simply repeats itself over generations. But what judge/attorney/politician cares about that so long as the States get their matching funds from the Feds and our Federal/State elected officials do not have the courage to stand up to the politics of political correctness and simply turn a blind eye to these injustices. The government and the Judiciary are simply corrupt!! These facts should not deter fathers from filing lawsuits both individually and in class action litigation all across the nation. I am calling on all fathers to stand up and assert your rights!! We can be strong IF we all do this as a group as we fathers number in the millions and millions of lawsuits all at the same time will force this unfair system to act. Once we start to affect their revenue stream (this is the only language they know) and expose their RICO acts, we can win. However we must stand as one group and not one father. Petition your state and federal elected officials once per month with requests for action!!REPORT COMMENTS

The whole system is biased a fair the non custodial parent. Yes there are deadbeat parents, but overall the system needs to be more fair and balanced. Custodial parents should be required to shoulder some of the costs in proviso g for the child. It took two to create the child and that responsibility should not stop once there is a divorce.REPORT COMMENTS

I feel that in Kansas the child support laws are ridiculous. I don't like the fact that they can use VA disibility as income even when if from before you were married. The state should take look at the facts of the divorce if there was one. Also feel that it you are paying child support you should have the right to see your child and those rights should be enforced by law enforcement. In the matter of joint custody. The residential parent should not be able to keep or control the parenting time wether the other parent lives in the state or not. A parent should not feel like if he/she moves to another state that he/she won't ever get to see their child do to the way the state outlines the parenting time laws. If your paying your child support and your not a dead beat you should have equal rights at all times.REPORT COMMENTS

My ex wife gets more of my check than i do for 1 child. She does not work in fact she married to keep from working. I also pay half of his medication and medical bills she personally pays for nothing to raise him. Instead she married to keep from helping support him and if I get behind she calls me a lazy good for nothing bum and says I don't deserve tonsee my son. We need stricter laws like make them show receipts for what they spend it on. I don't care if it is a mom or dad who has custody unless they are disabled and cannot work they should have to work and provide as well as the non custodial parent I also believe that unless the other parent is causing harm to the child it should be joint custody across the board, no parent should ever have sole custody unless they are harmful to the child....We need to stop these parents from taking everything.REPORT COMMENTS
