A court decided I pay child suppot and spousal mentenance around 2500 every month including back pay for less two year mariage. Even after the court finds out that my ex-wife lie about abuse to get green card. She is living her life without working, leaving me with not enough money to live on. The funny thing is I am not eligible to get public assistance because of my income where most go to my ex. How irony is it. how long am I to suffer?

I pay close to 500 a month for one child.. My ex has no house payment, no car payment, no credit debt at all.. I also pay for medical insurance on my child.. It would be nice if the courts would take the father and the mothers financial situation in to consideration.

I think they need to figure out how much kids spend not how much they think kids need cuz when I was with my wife we didn't spend not even 200.00 a month on them now that she left me I have to pay 900.00 the number are all wrong or at least make them pay taxes on it

I am a female professional and its wrong and injust for any female to collect full child support because they choose not to work and feel intitled! They chose to have a child they must choose to help financially support the child.

I love my children with all my heart , But there mothers could care less if i was homeless as long as they got that $ They work the bare minimum if that were me I'd be told to work more or get another job and its not fair I pay my support but yet am treated like a dead beat. There are men out there who don't even know there kids names and I'm treated like they are it's not fair and hasn't been for years

When the children are all over 18 why do you still have to pay. After all what ever money she did get is not needed any more. Why are we still paying back support, that money is not for the child it's for the state and the mother. There has to be a limitation on this matter because it's out of control. The economy has been very bad people lost their job's and just could not find another right away and the state's made it worse by jailing them because they could make a paymant calling them (DEAD BEAT). These were hard working caring people who just had some bad luck. But the state did not care. Some of the xwifes even remarried after the children turned 18 and moved on and other parent is still paying why?.It was supposed to be for the children not new husband and xwife. This is just wrong.

What I get to take home every 2 weeks I get on my paycheck, he makes in one day to a day in a half and I have 2 kids in my household to support. I am not trying to ditch out on paying support for our daughter but he makes 3 times OR MORE than I do and clearly dosen't need my money when he has a gambling issue as well. Unjust and unfair that I have to struggle and live hand to mouth while he has no financial problems and is just doing it out of spite honestly. I am a woman and can see the problems these dads face financially now that I am being taking for money I work my*****off for at just a tad over min. wage.

How does he expect us to even try to work anything out? So my lawyer calls my ex to try to talk to her and my ex says lets resolve it on court. Let?s go back a little to the custody order we came up with in custody. The order is set up that we both have legal custody, but my ex has psychical custody due to the closeness to her school. However the days of the week are split equally. My Daughter spends the same amount of time with each parent because she is used to that. The agreement states that we are supposed to have our daughter 2 weeks alternatively over the summer months. Also we have the right to choose a summer camp of our choosing. Here goes Palos, why didn?t you send her to the same camp? I was shock he asked that question, my lawyer said because your honor the parents also go on vacation and need time in the summer. I feel the whole system needs an over haul and Magistrates should have their decision reviewed by a higher authority. Also Magistrates should be rotated to different because I couldn?t imagine doing their job for a long time and not becoming an intolerant jerk. Since my case started I have been doing a lot of research and found out numerous reasons for the states to be so vigilant about child support. The main reason magistrates are so eager to process child support orders is because the federal government awards the state with federal dollars whenever the state collects child support and I?m talking about millions in federal dollars, In return the state uses the federal funds to help balance that states budget. Every dollar that is collected counts. The states say that custody and support are not link but the decision made in custody affects your child support. It doesn?t matter if you are the greatest father on earth once your case is called up someone has to pay. This is my second petition signing, I have written to my congress member, but it?s hard for them to acknowledge the problem when they are a part of it. I?m not saying every dad should be treated the same you have dead beat dads out there. But the courts should pay attention to every case when making these decisions. (I?m trying to limit how much I write but to no avail there is so much to be said) I thought judges were supposed to be fair; the system has shattered this idea for me. (Sorry for any errors only proofed read once)

First let me start by saying it was good to see someone?s petition about this matter show up in a Google search. I have been going to court for about 2 1/2 years now, and even though I have live with my daughter since her birth the court has decided my relationship with my daughter should now be financial. My case began over 2 years and 4 months ago. I started my MBA in 2010 and now I?m finished and the case is still going on. My case have been put off so many times mostly because the magistrate has over scheduled his calendar, and the morning cases have run over to the afternoon. I have been rescheduled five times. Then on my last court date in March of this year my Lawyers mother was dying so she requested another date (which was given 3 months later). The magistrate had the nerve to say regardless of the situation my lawyer should have been there, but granted he gave me a new date. Let me give you a little background before I get into anything. I and my daughter?s mother were together years before my daughter was born, we leased an apartment when she got pregnant, and have raised our daughter together until she was 5 years old. I myself never had the pleasure of being raised by my biological father but my stepfather did a good job. I promised myself I would never let my child ever have a want or a need as long as I?m alive. I love my daughter with every fiber of me. We mutually decided to split up when my daughter became 5 years old. We decided the relationship was not working out. We both moved on with our lives keeping our daughters interest first. On the first day of court (March 2011) the magistrate compared our finances and ruled my share was $XX amount, and made it a temporary order. On the first day of court I had all my paper work that the court requested, but the only looked at my tax returns and swiftly made a judgment. I or my lawyer barely said anything. My lawyer had to request a transcript after the case because he was talking so fast and low it was inaudible (It was like watching a three card hustler). My lawyer kept asking him to repeat himself. Anyway in court my lawyer suggested that we the parents should work out a custody agreement so we would have a proper schedule for our daughter. The magistrate looked at my Ex and in a clear voice (I didn't know he had) said to my ex should be careful and not fall into a trap because my lawyer would only be representing me. Wow! We ended up going in front of a custody mediator (another long story). We eventually came to an agreement within 3 months in custody. Here is what disturbs me about the magistrate, in the first two appearances (right before we are rescheduled) he tells us to try to work out an agreement amongst us but I have a lawyer and my ex doesn't (I?m happy I have a lawyer cause I couldn't imagine the abuse I would endure). So right before we walk out the court room he says to my ex be careful because my lawyer only has my best interest at heart. H

My husband pays nearly $1000 a month for two children to 2 different women, yet one or the other is still always asking for more. I work two jobs to make our ends meet as it is, and neither mother even works 1 job. How is this fair? I agree 100% that my husband should pay for his children, but what about their mothers? Why don't they have to work to provide their part? If my husband said he didn't want to work, he would either end up in jail or told to get a better job, yet they aren't even made to work one job? Then when we file our taxes, we have to claim all the $ paper says we make, yet don't see nearly $12,000 of it, but still aren't allowed to claim either child? There are men out there who aren't deadbeat dads, yet have to suffer for those that are. Child support should be decided on a case by case basis, and not by percentages. If my husband didn't have me, he would be homeless. How is that fair to either of us, while both mothers live above their means at my husbands expense?

I pay child support for my 2 children in Minnesota to my ex. I don't mind providing for my children, that's not even my issue, what i do have a problem with is me struggling to survive and her living high on a hog! She got remarried and currently has 7, yes 7 children including my 2 living in her home! There was only 6, but they decided recently that they could addopt a cousin that was having a hard time. I'm sorry, but if you have the means to pull in an extra mouth to feed, you clearly don't need my income as much as i do. Every single time i ask for a couple extra hours here and there, it is always a no way. Why is it always a take from the father and give to the mother court system. The reason we divorced was due to her unfaithfullness. She committed adultry, got pregnant and I considered that too much, and now I am paying the price in not seeing my children. Please tell me how this system is fair!

No idea where my child is. Ex has blatantly refused to show up to hearings to rework out AG order and they told me all she has to do is just not show up because the court can't change anything without her there. Unreal that she can break the rules and get rewarded. I don't even know what my kid looks like because it has been so long yet half my check goes to her every time.

I agree that women are an active force in the workplace and not considering their active role in society is an unfair burden on the men that are paying child support and the women taking advantage of the situation.

I am signing the petition bc i'm a convicted felon from 8 years ago, i might b able to have my record expunged if i could afford it. i lost my job a while back and can't for the life of me seem to find another one although i search every day and every night. It's not that i don't want to take care of my boys there's just no one who will hire a convicted felon and usually by the time i find a job I get locked up for being behind. I was really young and wild when my oldest 2 sons were born, not making excuses my kids are my whole world, but now I'm married and my youngest son is 3 months old, before my wife got pregnant she was working paying all the bills and my whole check went to child support. I felt useless then but now it's even worse, my wife hasn't been able to work since she was 2 months pregnant bc she was considered high risk from previous miscarriages and a blood clotting deficiency where she was supposed to remain on bed rest the majority of the pregnancy, so then it was up to me to make sure we survived, here i was with no job, (bc i had lost it for missing too many days when my wife was in and out of the hospital), my wife, my step daughter and a new born baby to support, and I couldn't. I have done every side job I can find and am doing everything i can to keep up with payments and pay my arrears, but i'm 11,000 dollars behind now, and i feel like i'm constantly drowning, i have to pay 526 a month arrears which doesn't even count as child support it's just purge payments so while i'm scraping up those i'm racking up more, i live in government housing where they pay my rent and my lights and yet i'm still behind on everything else, i have done everything possible to find work, i've put in apps everywhere, i make phone calls every day, etc. and there's just nothing. I would love to get out of this hole but it's unlikely, I WANT to provide for my family (that includes my boys) but how can i do that if i'm always going to jail for not being able to pay. I have been locked up 3 times in the past 2 years for 45 days at a time, i didn't have the $ to pay let alone have money on my books, phone anything! The worst part is every time i get put in jail i get further and further behind, (ga doesn't even have a work release program, so i just literally sit helpless), they don't offer any kind of child support lawyer for someone who can't afford one, trust me i've tried, and it's just wrong. I actually went to jail the time before last on my way to a new job, it was my second day! I didn't even have time to tell my case worker I had a job before they came and got me. To top it all off A LOT of ppl won't even hire u if ur behind in child support here in GA. I was in the fatherhood program this last time, I went to 2 meetings and the man in charge was supposed to email everyone for the next one when I didn't receive an email I called his cell constantly and sent emails to him to find out bc I was afraid I had missed a meeting and I really was tr
