I deserve the right to claim my child on my taxes. I wouldn't mind not filing if the $818 monthly was taken out before taxes and she had to pay the tax responsibility on it.

We are barely able to afford the air around us due to a corrupt New Jersey child support system. My fiancé pays 69% of his income to two children, it leaves him around 110.00 a week to live off of.. I am having to put in double time at work just to make ends meet due to this support.. I have even had to put my student loans into forbearance to help pay his child support payments. I was a single mother for 22 years, never asked for a single dime from my child's father and made it just fine, while New Jersey has my fiancé's youngest living with the mother who is a crack addict AND the oldest child is a new mother, herself and is about to be married, yet her mother STILL gets child support due to New Jerseys screwed up emancipation laws. The mother of the oldest has two more children she is collecting child support, food stamps, medicaid and section 8 for. This is unjust, unfair, disgusting and leaves me with ZERO confidence in our government...We have put off marriage, filing taxes, groceries on some occasions, basic healthcare, clothing, electricity at times and never have we ever filed for any kind of public assistance while these mothers suck the life out of the welfare system...What makes all this so much worse is New Jersey won't even transfer my Fiancés case to the state he is living in or hear a single plea to have the case re-evaluated, nor do they enforce the visitation ruling put into place, he is supposed to get 49% visitation yet the mothers are allowed to deny him 100%.. He has not seen either child in over 8 years...

Where there is good there is evil. This could also be applied as where there is a good father there is a deadbeat father. The issue of child support has been ongoing for centuries and the system has been delegated to be favored more on the custodial end. The laws that justify what is fair within child support or custody is an approach of being biased against the non-custodial parent. It's a nationwide issue that affects all men/women - non custodial parents. The whole CS system corruption includes all the Attorney Generals of all states, lawyers, and other state agencies. Eventually, from what I have experienced hiring a lawyer is expensive and I am still paying the bill and trying to make ends meet. Yet it's pointless hiring an attorney because it may seem as if they are fighting for you, but in reality we as caring non-custodial parents have no right! The only right we have is "The right to be with your child or children" NO SHIT! Who gives the law the right to tell us that? We have every right even without their intrusion. The whole system is violating our constitutional rights and judges are aware of our due process, but just seem to ignore it. Without the crookedness the system would be broke. Morally it is totally wrong how the law gets involved and treats us as deadbeats who want to be in our children's lives, but only enables our lives to struggle and makes ends meet. The long corrupted CS system needs to be scrutinized very carefully and make it fair for both parents to be responsible, especially if they have "joint custody." Yet when the law says: "The best interest for the child." Totally a false statement! More like: "The best interest of the custodial parent and not the child". I thought the money is for the "child or children?" These types of laws embrace non caring custodial parents to seek govn't assistance, not want to work, and receive a ridiculous CS a month that we know all that money isn't going to our children. Damn if you do or don't. We, as caring non-custodial parents' are labeled as deadbeats and still get screwed paying a pretty penny (20%) for CS and if we don't, they take away our licenses and get sent to jail. The system is really broken and needs to be fixed! Overall, sometimes a relationship doesn't work and it is what it is, but we as humans need to make a decent living. Stop destroying families life's with ridiculous laws that are unconstitutional and make it fair to the point where both parties must be responsible in supporting a child or children and live a happy life. On the note, there are many people who complain but don't do anything about it. Enough is enough! We, as caring non-custodial parents need to unit as one and stand up for our rights. The more we spread this fragile concern verbally, and online it will spread like wildfire. There are petitions going on and need signatures to be expressed to the President. So, let's get this going. No more free rides for the other non caring parent!

It is time for the government to step in and help men who are VICTIMS of a system which favors women who are money hungry. I have never experienced a system so backwards that they order obscene child support payments by the man, but will not enforce agreements when it comes to allowing the man to see his child when the mother refuses, but if there is something that happens to that child support payment....Watch out!! Jail time. What the government needs to be focusing on is ACCOUNTABILITY for how the money is spent by the female and not punish father's any longer. The mother doesn't have to report where she lives, doesn't have to let the father see his child(ren), take all tax credit (even though she is receiving child support which is not taxed). We have to stand up and support father's who are getting smashed by the system. Hard working men who are honest need to be rewarded, not constantly pushed down and made to be "dead beat dad's". I am writing on behalf of my husband, who is a hard worker and is financially responsible for his children. However, his ex-wife and manipulate the system with a bat of her eye and her FREE attorney, provided by a liberal woman's group. I wish the system would understand that men want to be financially responsible for their children, but a realization has to be made that the father has bills too. My support and hats off to all the hard working father's out there who can afford attorney's, can't see their kids, but religiously pay child support and have to live in basements because of greedy individuals. God Bless.

I am a grandmother and I love my grand kids very much. I want to see them taken care of and I don't have a problem with men being required to pay child support, but from where I sit, I can tell you how unfair the law is. My son has to live in my basement because he cannot afford to live since the government takes half his pay for child support. The government expects him to live on $800/month. The government takes half for child support and then takes out taxes on the rest. That leaves him with less than half of his pay to live on. If he gets a second job the courts will just take that money too. When he got sick and had to go to the hospital he was told in the emergency room to apply for medical assistance since he can?t afford health insurance, but forget about getting any kind of help for his health problems because according to the government he makes too much money. Why? Because they look at his gross pay and don?t take into account the money he pays out for child support. Wait until Obamacare kicks in all the way. Men who pay child support and can?t afford health insurance will have to pay the penalty because the IRS will not take the child support into account because he can?t claim child support as an expense. Everyone knows that child support has become big business for the government. There is a lot of money changing hands and not all of it goes to the kids. The municipalities and courts are making a ton of money (charging interest on arrears) on men that they put in a position to fall behind on their child support payments. One problem is the court system is living in the dark ages. If for some reason a man's situation changes, it takes months for him to get a hearing to try to get a change order in place. Good luck with that, the people in domestic court don?t want to hear about your problems all they want is your money. In the meantime, he is falling behind on his payments and interest and penalties are piling up. The courts don?t care about the man?s situation at all. When my son fell behind because he lost his unemployment and still could not find a job, the judge said he did not care how he got the money to pay his child support. He sentenced him to jail for falling on hard times. A man in jail cannot support his kids or spend time with them. How do you tell the kids that Dad?s in jail. Don?t they realize that putting Dad in jail is hurting the kids? Now the kids have to visit Dad in jail or not get to see him at all for months. This is causing emotional problems for the kids. The oldest grandson was having nightmares that his Dad was going away and he would never see him again. All the while, the child support is still racking up and by the time Dad gets out of jail he is so far behind he will never catch up. The government is hurting the kids more than they are helping them anymore. Why does the government have to get involved when neither of the parents are collecting welfare? It should not be any of their business. Anot

In a nutshell, the child support system is all about money ? the more the better. That?s because state governments are paid by the federal government based on how much child support they collect. It ill serves them to set amounts low and the more interest and fees they can tack on the better for them. Fathers seeeking downward modifications are routinely lied to by court personnel and their hearings delayed. According to Rhodes, supervisors specifically instruct subordinates in the fine art of making dads pay as much as possible. Failure to obey can cost a court employee his job. It all means more federal largesse, so what matter if countless dads are hounded into penury? Against the promise of ever-greater sums of money flowing to states from Washington, the plaintive bleats of the Office of Child Support Enforcement urging states to set support at levels that NC parents can actually pay go entirely unheard

I agree the child support money should be monitored, my Husbands ex receives over 1000.00 a month and if he happens to miss a payment! OMG we are back in court meanwhile the oldest of the Three children has braces and has not been to the orthodon. in over a year when he ask the judge why she cant pay the payment and take him to the dentist he was told it wasnt his buisness what she spent the money on the money he pays her for support to the children meanwhile she took her current boyfriend to get a 600.00 tatoo for his birthday!! WHERES the justice here? If it takes two to have a child Male and Female then why cant the moms be held just as accountable for the raising of the children? I have a very good job and if it wasnt for that my husband would be homeless because his support ,When the economy died his job did too. the money he was making five years ago just isnt possible now, instead the judge said no to lowering his support payments instead told him he was leaving it the way it was because he was capable of making the money. I thought payments was done on the funds you already make not what you are capable of ?? there is no justice he is at the end of a buring rope

These laws are just plain unfair. By forcing men to pay for child support, even if they are unemployed through no fault of their own (which is becoming more common due to the recession), men (and in some cause women) are forced into debt and for all purposes slavery. Their driving licenses are taken away and they are arrested (giving them a criminal record) if they cannot make payments, making it difficult if not impossible to get meaningful employment afterwards. Even if they are employed the child support checks may take 50% or more of their paychecks and constitute much more than is required to take care of the child, sometimes even allowing the mother (or father) to remain unemployed since they are funded by the child support money. What's worse is often the payer is limited to seeing his child only a few hours a week due to custody laws, despite the fact that he/she is paying for the child's livelihood. In some areas, child support is still required after the child turns 18 and is legally an adult. What need is there for this? The laws for child support are unjust and, I would argue, constitute a form of slavery since they require compulsive employment. As a first world nation that upholds justice, freedom and democracy and criticizes other nations for human rights violations it is reprehensible that we allow such laws to exist. I implore Congress to address these issues as soon as possible.

I have paid support since my daughter was 2.i have had streaks of unemployment where I could not pay which has led to substantial arrears.I recently had DE.suspend my DL. I am still obligated to pay full child support even though I am repaying arrears. my daughter is now 22. I have two kids now of my own. because of the economy my company closed its doors. i now draw a whopping 97$ a week unemployment after cs. Since my license has been taken away no company will hire me for the career field I am in.So now I'm expected to go from a 50,000+ a year job to work for minimum wage. how is that even fair. I didn't dodge my responsibility I did what I could. Not only that but even on our taxes there is no deduction breaks for cs. I heard also that each state is given a matched dollar for dollar amount from the federal gov. for every dollar collected for child support.I'm sick and tired of this treatment it's like I'm a criminal. I did nothing wrong but got involved with the wrong woman simple as that. And I have paid and still paying for it after 22 years. My family suffers while fat bureaucratic pigs in DC line their own pockets and the custodial parents who by the way not all, live it up while you pay for the rest of your life. I would like to be able look in their eyes and tell them what I really think. Our government has no clue about our strife nor do they care.

My ex-wife is willfully un-employed and will never seek employment as long as she's getting a monthly check for being unemployed. I have him 50% of the time and he cries every time he has to go back to her house and begs me not to make him go. I can't prove she is mentally abusing him so not only do I pay her, I also pay her to create an environment that my son fears going back to. After my recent dealings with the court, I am ashamed to call myself an "American". The legal system is pitiful and does not care about the rights of the child. Meanwhile her and her new husband by brand new cars once or twice a year and move into a new bigger house farther and farther away from me every other year to make it harder and harder for me to see my child.

I pay $685 a month in child support out of a fluctuating pay check. There have been numerous times that my child support payment was equal to what I brought home. Thats half my pay. Why doesn't the child support payment vary with my pay check? My ex should only get 30% of my pay that varies with my check. I have had to live on as low as $600-$800 a month. I pay on average $360 a month in fuel costs, $200 in electric, $80 for water. This doesnt include what little I pay in groceries. I have to spend the least amount on myslef for groceries so I can save to have more to spend for when my kids visit. I can't afford to take my children to the movies or an amusement park for entertainment. It's the local park and movies on tv for us. I have to make hard decision on whether or not I put gas in my truck to get to work on Monday or groceries and fuel to get my kids. Try making that happen as a father. Yet, my ex has a new car, all new clothes, trips to the Zoo and Seaworld. Numerous trips from San Marcos TX to Schertz Tx, Galveston TX, and 2 new cell phones in 6 months. How is it right that I struggle so hard just to survive and not be able to provide more for my children when they visit?

My fiance is paying child support for two sons by different mothers, which is costing him close to $1200 a month. He is a security officer (luckily, with benefits) and only brings home a yearly income of about $37,000. He gets paid every two weeks. Normally he would be paid close to $1000 every two weeks, but because of child support, he only brings home $475 every two weeks. We are paying $950 a month in rent--the cheapest we could find, a tiny studio apartment in the Bronx. My family helps with half and he pays the other half. I am a college graduate, but I have been unable to find a steady job pertaining to my degree for almost a year, despite applying everywhere I could. I'm doing my best to make ends meet with freelance projects for the time being. It is extremely unfair and difficult to live like this. My fiance WANTS to help his kids. The mothers are absolutely impossible to deal with, and NEVER let him claim his kids on his taxes. In fact, this past week he tried to get a tax deduction on the money he paid in child support, and he had all his papers together, but the tax person said it was impossible without a letter from the mothers. What kind of crap is that?? If I had a decent-paying job, an apartment with more than one room, and a small savings account, I would fight for custody of these kids. I love them as if they were my own. Eventually it is my dream to have a kid of my own with my soon-to-be husband, but at this rate it absolutely impossible. It is a pipe-dream.

I think if more men in Congress knew and understand how it is to fit the shoes of every american man that is shafted by the courts to pay child support . We would see big changes in the child support system. How is it ok for a women to have 2 or 3 different kids with 2 or 3 different men? And its ok for a judge to grant the mother to get paid child support by each father ? And be classified as a fit mother? and if she has full custody of all kids, can collect $3k a year for taxes in each kid ? get free insurance for the kids. And not be forced to work like all fathers do that pay support? They dont have to worry about losing DL for none payment. How is the equal and fair to every man or women that pays child support ? how do you expect the one who pays support to live a fair and equal life as the mother does? The courts allow the mother to take up to %50 of the fathers earnings ? I have been paying child support for or 9 yrs now. In this day of age. A mother will play this game with the system. It needs to be stopped and looked at seriously . I see it more and more every day. A female will have two or three kids with all different men. and then take them all for child support! Think about it ? they will likely get 800 and up a month for each kid! then collect a $3200 tax return for each kid? this is crazy ! And the courts say they allow this so the kids are taken care of ? what about the fathers that cant afford to pay the bills they have because they are shafted so hard by the judges ?

Plain and simple: Men are not considered and treated fairly in the courts. They stripe us of our funds to even survive and our dignity. On the other hand you see the so call needed mothers with other men spending the money on them without having to be accountable for anything. In addition if the mother feels that she is in so much a financial hardship then she needs to turn the children over to the father since we are the ones supporting the child the most anyway. We are being discriminated because of sex throughout the courts. When a man can't make the payments because of hardship then there is no mercy shown to him. We are then locked up and force to pay money which we can't if we are not working and going through hard times. We are alienated from our children and emotionally abused but yet no help. Now is the time that I take a stand. I'm a good father and tired of being put through changes and slandered for not being a good father. Women know that the courts work in their favor so they take complete advantage of it. I question the law. Is this justice? We want to live and enjoy our children as well. Instead of being encouraged to parent a child and enjoy them; having children is becoming more like a risk to be criminated because of the unfair practices, loopholes, and abuse of the law.
