Law's need to be changed to Somthing "fair" For Men there is NO WAY you can win! You are in a Loose loose situation! Would really like to know who writes these law's. This is just one man being screwed monthly. There are million's out there! And the joke is after three years of NEVER missing a support payment. (1,200) month now she want's more and take me to court for alimoney And win another 1,100 a month. No change in circumstance need for her. Amazing! -

My husband got a woman pregnant and after tons of her sending them threating texts and telling him she wanted nothing to do with him she then decided she wants his money. She gets 800 a month for one kid which leaves us 500 dollars to pay rent, groceries and all the bills. I don't see how her kid can be worth 800 but mine is only worth whatevers left out of 500 and after everything is paid leaves us negative 600 a month! There needs to be some accountability for mothers receiving child support to ensure that they are just not "popping out babies" as their means to gain income. There also needs to be accountability to ensure that the money is actually spent on taking care of the child. I know of a child who is constantly dirty and sickly while the mother has designer clothes and parties all the time. This mother admitted to spending the child support check to buy a dirt bike for her new boyfriend. She lives with her mother and does not have to pay rent or utilities, and does not work. The child is 7 years old and there is no reason why the mother cannot get a part time job.REPORT COMMENTS

Child Support laws, are borken, and out dated. Mothers are given free reign becuase they are considered "single mothers"... while hard working fathers are lumped into the category of "dead beat dad", regardless of what you have been through. Mothers can choose not to show up for DNA testing for 13 years, 15 years, up to 18 years, and then drop a bomb for an order of support out of no where. Before I got custody of my daughter, Her mom was in that court every month trying to increase it and when I was late they threatened me with incarceration and when I did have a momentary lapse in payments, I was remandid to a workrelease program until I paid a certain amount to get caught up and all the while she was collecting welfare and state aid. I've now had my daughter since she was 6 yrs old and she is now nearly 16. I'm not on welfare or assistance. I make a pretty good living and she is spoiled rotten. But in regards to any kind of support. It's non existent at this point. She goes through roughly 20 plus jobs a year to avoid paying it and then there for a year or two i got her income tax check but this year she didn't file in order to avoid paying. Are the courts hounding her and forcing her into work release??? Certainly not, The only reason I can think of why they are not is because I'm not collecting any state assistance or welfare. Their only concern is to recoup the monies or services rendered by the custodial parent. In all honesty, I don't even need the money, but it's the principle and she was ordered to pay it. So to me the Kansas Child Support System Sucks!!!REPORT COMMENTS

If you can't support your child(ren) without full blown welfare and putting the other parent into a financial hardship because they have to maintain 2 households, you shouldn't be allowed to have your children. My ex made over $125K/year and I made $42K/year. I helped her through school, left a job in Austin, TX to help in furthering her career , and even helped her find the job she has. I am the one who left my government job with a secure retirement to find more a better paying job so I had more to live on. I inherited a huge consolidation payment, and a mortgage payment in the process that is more than 65% of my take home pay. She got everything, the newly built house, all of its contents, and all of it was purchased from my credit, that is now ruined. I have no means to live on my own, and rely on my roommate to keep a shelter over my head. I would literally have to live in my car, or default on my bills in order to survive at this point. The courts NEED to take BOTH parties income into account when determining the amount of monthly obligatory payments. Especially when the party paying it is covering the medical expenses as well. I don't argue because it's for my kids, but the reality is, the laws are unfair and outdated. This world is not a single income household anymore, where the husband makes the money and the wife stays home and raises the family. It is 21st century.REPORT COMMENTS

The system does need a MAJOR overhaul! We are living in completely different times, where many women are now earning more than men. How can the courts not even take BOTH incomes in to consideration?! They look only at the father's Net income, Pre-Tax! Not taking kids insurance payments, bills or debt from the divorce into account. By treating all father's and all divorce cases the same across the board, the system is punishing good fathers and their children, who never get to see them. As a woman, i can honestly say the system is EXTREMELY one sided. Everyone takes a cut, the government, the ex wife, the courts, the lawyers and this leaves children without their fathers. Father are working 2-3 jobs just to get by at a welfare level. This needs to be changed!!!!!REPORT COMMENTS
