My husband has been paying $750 a month for one child simply because his ex refuses to get a job. He only makes $50k a year. But now she says she is looking for a day job that is not even related to that field! Constant excuses to just avoid getting work!REPORT COMMENTS

Preliminary investigations may also solve this issue, as well as requiring the female to pay an amount towards the children's future or work full time. She would have to anyway.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a swkr by profession and I volunteered for child support after I left my child's mother due to the mother of my children attempting to ruin my profession by filifng false abuse charges (2) twice. They immediatle rallied behind her and established a fiberlous arrerage, did not notify me for court and had unprofessional and rude behavior towards me. I lost my job and was blackballed for filing a com plaint on the department. I'm behind in CS now with no way to pay. They sat out to do what the cust. parent attempted. No one seems to be overseeing this system. Its ruining society and seperaing young males from their fathers. We need immediate help in alabamaREPORT COMMENTS

My husband was ordered recently to pay child support by the state of Texas on a child he has no rights to and did not even know was his . The mother lives in another state but filed through Texas and we are military we already struggled as we have our own 2 children . She has a history of drug abuse etc nothing we can do . We lose 663 a month so she can sit at home and do drugs and does not have to prove the money goes to the child. Furthermore he was told he can't get visitation or parental rights to the child with out goig to her state! How unfair this girl from the comfort of we home could cause this trouble for us and the state would take so much from us. It's left me trying to pay the bills he is short on now. She didn't even have to show up here in Texas to file this. I want proof the money goes to the kid! It's not our job to supply her drugs alcohol tattoos and home . The child needs clothes food and that does not cost 663 a month for one kid. If she didn't have th child she would still have to pay for a place to live . Money should only go for his basic needs And maybe a few extras when he's older like school sports. Sadly we lose the money he doesn't see a dime.REPORT COMMENTS

I pay 776 monthly for each of my 2 kids in two different courts. Also i'm pays 943 monthly in bankruptcy payments. i pay a total of $2495.00 per month with an net income after all deductions my monthly check is $499.00 i've been homeless for a few months now. I can't afford to hire an attorney to fight the cases in two different courts. Louisiana child support system takes out of each check but the computer as the case worker told me generates a arrears letter each moth cause all payments are not received by the 21st of each month. When i get paid they get paid on time twice a month sometimes 3 times a month. Tired of the corrupt system in Louisiana. The Attorney Generals office should do a state wide audit on the system.REPORT COMMENTS

I pay 482 bi-weekly for my son. We have joint custody and I've never missed or been late on a payment. I take him every other weekend plus alternating Tuesdays and Thursdays. I would take him more yet my ex refuses to let me unless she needs me to babysit. We have right of first refusal through the court yet I have caught her on numerous occasions out and about without my son and have never gotten a call asking if I would take him, which I have never refused. She took me back to court last year for more money, which they granted her, only to get a breast enhancement the following month. I will add that my son is in school (1st grade), yet my ex. does not work a full time job, but goes to school full time and though she recently graduated from nursing school, told me shes not going to get a job but shes gonna stay in school even longer. A professional student using the government and it's loopholes to live on other peoples dimes. And the government is ok with this. I live paycheck to paycheck and cannot even make ends meet and she doesn't even have to work a full time job.REPORT COMMENTS

My son pays 25% of his gross income as child support on his 2 children. He has not missed a single payment. However, his ex-wife often refuses to allow his visitation, even though the children love being with their daddy and with us. She has just told him that she will not allow him to pick them up for the Court ordered designated Christmas visitation. She threatens him that she will call the police if he shows up. I believe that the custodial parent would have incentive to abide by the Judges orders if that were the only way that they would get their child support. The Texas AG's office doesn't care if the children are denied access to their daddy and him to them; they only care about the money. The AG office will gladly step in to be sure that child support is paid by a non-custodial parent, but there is no free help for the non-custodial parent who is being denied their visitation. That requires hiring an attorney. Something needs to be changed! The laws are so unfair. My daughter is married to a military man who has been ordered to pay child support on a child he has never seen and did not know he had. It doesn't matter that he and my daughter have 2 children of their own. That child is first in the state's eyes. Many women are having babies so they can get child support, and many are quick to choose divorce because they know they will get so much child support. I was once a single mom with 2 little children. I did not get any child support and I made it. The children need access to both parents as much as money is needed to help raise them. And many, many times the child support is not spent on the needs of the children. Too often it is spent irresponsibly or on drugs and alcohol. Every custodial parent should have to prove where the child support goes, and if they withhold visitation rights, they should not be given a check.REPORT COMMENTS

For 4 years my son has received paperwork from California Human Services starting a process claiming he was the father of a child. The woman started the process would drop the claim every year. Last year when he spoke to CHS he asked what he could do to keep the ball rolling and find out if this child was his. They said nothing until she followed through. Here it came again this year. She finally followed through. Paternity was established, and he is the father of a 15 year old son. She has been on child support all these yeas, still is. She just had another baby 2 years ago. So now she, the 2 year old, and the father of that baby are all welfare recipients. For 15 years, she's had my son's child and done nothing to allow him to be the father until now. Now he's looking at a possibility of 1/2 million dollars of back child support, that won't even benefit the child, but the state because of interest. He has an attorney, and to sweeten the pot, the attorney tells us that his other two children, his 12 and 2 year old, came after the fact and won't factor in when it comes down to determining what his monthly outgo is going to be. This has to stop. There needs to be stringent laws that protect the father as well as the child. I feel the mother needs to name the father within the first year. If she doesn't do that then then there is a sunset clause that no back child support can be collected. It can only be paid from the time paternity is established.forward. It's not just a money issue. It's that father's right's to know that he has a child. This issue of "baby-making" for the sake of a welfare check has got to stop for the sake of the future generations in this country. Women might be more responsible to birth control, "baby-making" didn't pay so well. We already pay out in huge sums of tax dollars for birth control. I would rather up that ante a little more, and get this other mess under control.REPORT COMMENTS

The state of n.m. threatens men for not working but allows women to float by .women asked and fought for equal rights and expect that unless it comes to child support then they play the pitty party . And get away with it ! Now my youngest 3 have to live almost starving (yes they live withme) and nobody can help because of the job I have But if I quit my job and not work we can live better ???? Fathers are not the only ones being jerked around. I am a single mother and have always worked extremely hard to provide for me and my two children, my oldest (a teenager) is a result of my marriage. And I do not receive child support for my youngest by choice. I divorced an abusive, controlling ex-husband who has done everything under the sun to take my oldest away from me out of spite because I left him. I even moved out of state and he followed me. I explained to my lawyer during the custody case that I didn't even want child support from him because I knew he would try to use it in some manner to control situations. But my lawyer insisted on me taking the support. Now, I have been enduring nothing but legal conflict from my ex and his new wife for the last 6 years which has drained me (financially and emotionally)to the point that I gave him physical custody to stop his antics. Now, he has turned around and put me on child support knowing that I have a younger child (under 10 years) to care for by myself and he makes five times as much as I do and he's remarried. The judge told me stop going to school and get another job, which I did. I worked two jobs that led to me not seeing my child, she was always at the neighbors, never getting her work done, and she was a truant. Now, I can hardly care for my child and the bare necessities like food. Not to mention his new wife pushing and helping him to take my son because she works the legal field. I believe the law should include ALL income in the child support worksheet when there is a remarriage and new spouses want to get involved in the case. The judge in this case basically said I have to sacrifice one child for the other because my ex could not let his ego go. Judges need to learn to recognize and read between the lines when exes are doing things out of spite.REPORT COMMENTS

My husband and I have been married for 7 years and have always actively been in both of his kids lives. We have them more than 50% of time and are always ready to care for them. We still need to provide things they need at our house and that includes everything you can think a child would need. The mother even makes more money than him and he still has to pay child support. The laws need to be revaluated for father's that are 100% active in the child (ren) lives!!!! This is in KYREPORT COMMENTS
