This will benefit the prisoners and their spouses. It will also help the crime rate inside prisons to decrease. Due to inmates being allowed conjugal visits, it would encourage them all to be on their best behavior at all times.

This would be very helpful to inmates and their families as well as the institutions that they're incarcerated in.

America has the highest rate per capita of prisoners . We need to do things that work & change things that don't, for something some did over a few moments, they shouldnt pay for a life time, they or their kids. I have been a kid of a parent in the system & ther family members. My letters & visits with my mothers kept them going. They came out better people & they was in nys where they let us stay on grounds in a trailer with dad.He never went back to jail again.that was 1989. hes still alive

Being away from the person you love is not easy especially when they were given a harsh sentencing for their first crime as a teenager.

I believe it would give inmates the chance to learn what it feels like to work hard for something you want. It will teach them self-discipline and a sense of accomplishment to achieve such status therefore providing some rehabilitation factors they'll need to acquire in order to acclimate back into society once they are released. It's also good for sustaining and preserving family bonds.

I think this would be absolutely better on inmates mentality as far as having a wife at home while the husband is in prison.

It would definitely help with the tension behind prison walls and what better way to assist in rehabilitating an inmate than to actually have real family bonds.

I agree with this one hundred percent. Every person deserves to be loved and give love regardless of their past. If prisons are built for rehabilitation then you should be rehabilitating the inmate.

I am too married to an inmate and just the other day I was talking with him about how the prisons in Virginia don't have programs to actually rehabilitate the inmates. Most offenders that have committed crimes and are incarcerated is because of broken homes or missing parents in the family, due to being in prison or just absent. The family visit or conjugal visit can help keep families together although it may be from a prison the visits will allow the cycle to end by the incarcerated parent being able to teach their child why prison is not the place to be. I agree with the visits lower crime and stress inside the prisons. My Husband says to me all the time he wishes he had someone there to help stir him in the right direction. His mother was incarcerated and his father wasn't there which left him to raise his two younger sister in the streets...a cycle!

as the wife of a man serving life in prison for murder while on meth i 100% agree on conjugal visits. Families still love them no matter what . I have suffered as much as he has through this and I did nothing wrong. being able to spend time and visit would not only help the families but it would also help to keep the inmates from becoming institutionalized making prisons safer and cutting back on repeat offenders.

I agree!! Also some men in there are doing good deeds that should have this. Everyone makes mistakes and I'm sure they have learned from it. Married or not I feel it should go for all states. I just don't feel that its fair for some states in the U.S have conjugal visit and majority others do not!! Hell 48 hours is a good idea to spend with our love ones they should do their job or monitor or do whatever they have to do!!

I love this! Statistics show that inmates who serve over 10 years are often done more harm than good. They become institutionalized and it's hard to bounce back from that. If they are given a chance to separate, even for a few hours, and have a sense of normalcy, can you imagine how much that would help? Some of these inmates aren't "career criminals," and yet, they will become them. I for one, would pay an outrageous amount of money to even have one day with my man! The prisons could make a lot of money off of this if it were to pass. I am praying whole heartedly for this to go somewhere. Mr. Presisent, you are a family man, and I hope you can see the great benefits this would have, both financially and for the families of those in the prison system.

I agree with this! I love and need my husband more than anything regardless of his location. Being able to spend some real time would do a great service to the family. Noone is perfect but by certain states having the privilege and the others not it's unfair and unconstitutional. The inmates and families on the outside are both doing time and debts are being paid. Please allow ALL states to be blessed with keeping families together. If it was yours, you want the same. All people deserve that right and respect. God bless all you and pray your family members come home to you soon! ???? A. White. *OHIO*

Please UNITE and request SENATE for conjugal visits. Hell, let the, build the wall and get visits as payment! We love our Family, even if they are serving time paying for crimes committed and rehabilitating.
