This should be punishable the same as kidnapping because it is basically the same thing. These children are emotionally stolen from their parent, and the parent is stolen from the child, in some cases....forever. This is a crime. -

It has been over a year since me (the mother) and my family have seen my 17 year old daughter. This includes separation from her adult siblings. All I can do is hold the two older kids while their hearts breaks for their dad. Breaks mine too. After being divorced since 2002 and working through things, the minute he married, life changed. Me and ALL my family have no way to see or talk to her in any capacity. It's like Fort Knox. Emails do no good, as 99% of the time its the wife that responds. How is it possible to co-parent when he refuses to do so? It's interesting that for years we did okay, at least he would talk to me and I saw our kids. I feel there should be laws pertaining to the input of a step-parent. I don't know how, but it seems funny that allthis started when she came around . My ex and his wife took flowers that my mother and i sent to her school back to the flower shop. There's tons more but this is cruel to all involved, especially the kids. Even the adult ones. Being rejected and abandoned is way worse than a death. I agree there needs to be major changes in our legal system that makes these people accountable for the damage they are doing to the kids. It's a long recovery for our children . In my case the fact that my daughter is 17 and not under 12 years old, it complicates things. There needs to be a law in place for teens who are brainwashed in any capacity. This happened at 16 years old for her and because she doesn't want to see me (there's no reason) all of a sudden and hangs up on me. Encouraging this behavior toward any parent (or anyone for that matter) is unacceptable at any age. She is still a minor by oklahoma law until she is 18. Depending on the specific situatio, there needs to be strict laws against PAS, or any mentally abusive action toward a child under 18.REPORT COMMENTS

My ex wife managed to destroy the relationship I had with my son. I raised him pretty much alone from the time he was 1 until he was 10. When he was 12, he wanted to go stay with his mom and I allowed it because it was his choice. He said it was "her turn" and he wanted to spend a year with her. He came back to visit 1 time in 6 years and she wouldn't allow phone calls from me. Now, he wants nothing to do with me. He is 18 and I doubt I will ever see my son again. My daughter is going through this. Her daughter's father has custody. Not because he's the better option. And I'm not being biased when I say he is actually a terrible option. But since his family has money, my daughter automatically loses. Maybe not the intention of the courts, but less money means no attorney. And he and his family work very hard and spend lots of money keeping my daughter from her child. And they are succeeding! Eventually as its going now, an abusive family will raise my granddaughter and my daughter can't stop it. These stories are our future. Somebody needs to pay attention.REPORT COMMENTS
