The parents that alienate a child should face the same consequences as a parent who falls behind on child support and is jailed for it. The alienating parent is only contributing to society's problems...as these precious children grow up feeling unloved, angry, and act out in numerous ways until they find out the truth. I know better than anyone because I was that child. I am now a grandmother who is watching my 31 year old son being alienated from his 3 year old son by a vindictive mother who knows the corrupt and incentivized family court system in Colorado won't do a damn thing about it. Please help these children!!! -

Every child when born has DNA from both parents, and growing up through life they draw from both parents participation which shapes their personality as an individual. I am a mother of five grown children. After 20 years of father and step-mother efforts to rob me of any resource to parent my children including my reputation; my children's trust; and even access to my grandchildren, they completely succeeded in alienating me from my family. We are now in the slow process of healing and I am appalled to find that this crime, that has so devastated our family, is not a felony. I wish to participate in any congressional movement that will provide better resources to obstruct and prevent this crime as well as provide appropriate consequences when the crime is perpetrated against other victims.REPORT COMMENTS

I have been facing alienation since my daughter's mother and I split up. We broke up because she was constantly making false accusations, mainly of accusing me of cheating every time I worked late. She wasn't working so I had no choice but to take all the overtime I could get. I also wasn't cheating amd would love to take a polygraph to show I am not lying. When we split up she moved home to her Father's house. I was not dating anyone for months and finally met a woman through work. We instantly connected and fell in love. As soon as I had someone the alienation began. She began policing our conversations and was quick to hand the phone up if I spoke of my girlfriend to my daughter. When I moved closer, she denied me physical contact with my daughter. This drove me and my girlfriend apart. It took time but soon after I became single, the alienation stopped. It was all a ploy to get me back. We hung out a few times as a family but not together as a couple. Then one day I received a text message while I was driving and my ex was in my car. She aggressively stole my phone out of my hands and started screaming at me in front of my daughter. I grabbed her hands and pried my phone from her grasp. She immediately began lying amd said I choked her throat. She had her step-mom lie and put a false PFA against me. I ended up moving back to where I loved previously to avoid other false accusations. So here we go again, I met another woman. We are engaged at this time. We both went to Pennsylvania to visit my daughter. Everything went well until our last day there. She called and demanded we bring my daughter home with no explanation. When we got there she got in my face amd began screaming for no reason. She again tried to get me arrested but I left before she had a chance to make the call. After that visit my ex began dating a teenager who just got out of jail for burglary. I found pictures of him on his Facebook page of him using drugs and using Gang Signs. I immediately objected to this kid being anywhere near my child. So she has changed her number and rarely lets my daughter call, and when she does call the number is blocked. She is again alienating me for wanting to protect my daughter from bad influences. I believe she did this on purpose to try to make me leave my fiance. I go to Christ Fellowship Church regularly, I pay child support with no court order to do so. I work full time and so does my fiance. We pay our own bills with no assistance and also pay her mothers bills because she is disabled. My daughter's mother somehow managed to get on Hud because her mother knows a guy in Hud. Her rent is only 75 a month. The criminal she lives with not only sells drugs but works for his uncle. They have every advantage over me, since she also works for her mother. All I want is justice. To stop alienation, the child must be removed from the alienating parent and placed with the parent who was alienatedREPORT COMMENTS

Having gone through endless custody battles and watching my daughters opinion of me change over the past few years has been heartbreaking and emotionally devastating. It should be a felony and there should also be more resources to combat this type of behavior. The courts, therapists and even custody evaluators don't ask the right questions and don't seem to want to entertain the possibility. It's not enough to interview a child and take what they say at face value because that child has become overprotective of the alternator and believes their love is dependent upon how they think and feel.
