It takes so much more time to come up with an answer. I feel bad for this generation when they have to go into a work place and it takes them 10 minutes to give someone change

its bad to watch your child struggle so hard and to gain so little ,gets to the point of wanting to quite school because of this new way of learning and gets further behind every day. and not to be able to help your child as a parent should. ive tried to learn this new way of thinking but cant .but i know my way so well ,made decisions in the past that makes lot of difference today ,also made a lot of money with old math 3 years of college and $100 k job a year its like the government dont want your children to learn because they relay dont. this will cause more drop outs than before , i know my 2 kids are close to getting out .what can i do i cant learn it to teach them , asked there teachers they said there only as good as the books that teachers also have problems with it as well this should be banded from our school

Common core is the stupidest thing that the US has created in education history. This system needs to be thrown out the window for the students to get real education. White old men need to stop coming up with these tests and education systems with weird acronyms just so they can buy their kids boat shoes and vineyard vine clothes.

I have to sit and watch my daughter cry night after night because she can't figure out the COMMON CORE math. She feels stupid and worthless. But When she does it the old fashioned way, she can do it easily. Please for the same of out children's sense of self worth, get rid of the COMMON CORE.

We need to stop common core. What ever happened to teaching the basics? Our kids need a strong foundation, not stuff that confuses our kids. They want these kids to swim before they ever get in the water!

The liberal government needs to stop interfering with out schools. Give the decision back to the states and let them and each citizen make their own decision regarding what WE want our kids to be learning in school.

This common core nonsense needs to go when my daughter struggles with math it's almost impossible for me to help her with her homework because I don't know the correct way to do it. There is no point in having to do 10 steps to come to the answer when you can do it a simple way & get it in one or two steps. I can help her get the answer but it's still wrong because she can't show her work the correct way. It's a lose lose situation.

Stop common core please! It's frustrating to see your children suffering and constantly having their self esteem go down because they can't understand a simple math problem or word problem! What are we doing to our kids. Give us back the freedom to choose what's best for our children. This is not a one size fits all!

Stop Common core math period. I can't stand to see kids get upset to just do easy add, no need to break down the math. 2+4=6 go back to the old way.

All children do not learn at the same rate. Teachers are using test practice as curriculum, and when the math is too challenging, they tell parents that the law requires them to teach grade level standards regardless of whether the child is below grade level. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that this is a formula for failure. As struggling elementary students lose their joy for learning and their self-esteem plummets, challenges to teach these same students in middle and high school will become insurmountable. Teach the whole child, bring back the joy of learning, show students they can succeed instead of holding them to impossible standards that not all children can reach.
