I am in this boat... Child support added my BAS & BAH to the court order, and is taking a total of $655 a month for my one child.. I am married and I must say this has been a kick in the face hardcore. I live on base and don't even receive my BAH, yet they still add it. I tried fighting it with the support agency in Ohio, and they wouldn't even respond to me... I am all for supporting my son, but not for supporting his scum bag of a druggy mother, when it puts my Wife and I in financial hardships. Something needs to be done about this, please send this out to everyone, because basically every Military member will agree, this is a complete garbage policy for us members who are willing to put our lives on the line for the United States! Thank you! ~ThomasMay 28th, 2016Someone from Gulfport, MS writes:
As a current Active Duty Air Force member I couldn't agree more with this. How are we supposed to survive and have the money to continue raising a family? Money hungry ex's should take more responsibility than they want to. We always provide for medical expenses and are always having to pay more money for traveling so we can exercise our visitation rights. WE are the one's who made the sacrifice to join the military. Some of us joined before we met our ex's and had children with them. They knew what they were getting into. This nonsense should stop and much like other things in life, be brought up to today's standards instead of holding onto the past.REPORT COMMENTS

BAH is protected by DoD regulation, DoD 7000.14-R Financial Management Regulation Volume 7A. Local courts disregard this federal regulation. Also the amount I am required to pay severely limits my ability to see my children, because it costs money to travel and house them as well.REPORT COMMENTS
