My ex-wife has turned my life completely upside down. I was a good husband and a good father but because she chose divorce and because I worked (the courts decided that she would have more time available for the kids) the courts have allowed my wife to take my children hours away from where we always lived. Now I can barely afford to live while I have to pay for her and her unemployed boyfriend to live with my kids. How is this justice? Spousal and Child support should be all figured on a case by case basis. I've had my kids taken away from me isn't that punishment alone? If the money I pay went to and for my kids that would be one thing but it isn't and if she didn't have the financial means to take care of my kids why should she have gotten custody of them? I can now only afford to barely pay for rent of a very dinky apartment and to pay for my car that I can only afford to use to get to and from work and to visit with my children. I could possibly get a second job but it would be very hard with my schedule restrictions that I have from my full time job and my visitation with my children that also includes 5+ hours of travel time.

I agree with this. Father of three from NY and paying CS for one since 2008. I now have two other children to support while the mother remarried and they are very well off. Mean while I struggle to support three children. CS receives 800 a month from me. How is it possible that one child gets more than the others. How is this in the best interest of the child? What about my other children? The current process needs to change and be calibrated and balanced. This will in turn be in the best interest of the children.

I took care of my daughter and also her mother and her brother which isn't my son for 5 years and when me and my daughters mother broke up due to her cheating she took my daughter and moved to Michigan and I'm still in Minnesota then she put me on child support and I pay $600.00 a month for my daughter that I can see or speak to. I seen pictures of my daughter still wearing the same cloths that I bought her over a year ago so I know her mother isn't doing the rite thing with the money she also gets child support from her other kids father and lives in a 1 bedroom apartment with her new boyfriend and her mother. 1 bedroom so where are the kids sleeping with a total of 5 people in a 1 bedroom apartment and she also receives food stamps while I struggle to pay rent and have a normal life, I can care less about the money I would rather have a relationship with my daughter and be able to at least speak to her on a regular basis but I haven't in over a year, this isn't rite and child support shouldn't be so high $600.00 for a little girl in kindergarten come on this is absolutely crazy.

So I am back on the hook. My support reinstated for my 19 year old that has failed the 12th grade twice due to unexcused absences. At what point is he or the custodial parent held liable? Looks like I'll be paying till he is in his 20's.

Highly biased and enables mothers to take advantage of hard working fathers who in many cases should even have full custody. It is a ridiculous up hill and often times impossible battle for a man to win. This needs to change; this is not equality.

here is what needs to happen, the woman (or man) needs to be forced to find a job, if not she must volunteer, if she can't afford the children, the man should be awarded full custody. garnishing wages while not forcing the other to work is downright sinister, using the court to legally rob someone is THEFT, also spousal support should have been eradicated in the 70's

I have been a victim of the child support guidelines for years, the courts grant my kids mom with all my money making it impossible for me to support myself and current family. I work 40+ hours a week to bring home barely enough to cover food or housing. It is not fair that the mother gets the all this money and does not have to show proof of where it goes. When I see her she always has new things, new hair style, new clothes, etc. when I am living off clothes I have had for years and have holes in them. I would consider myself poverity stricken because of the child support guidelines, while there mother lives in luxury, it is just not fair. The court has granted her everything she wants without taken my financial ability to support myself in consideration.....it is just not fair! We need reform now!

I am a woman on the receiving end of unfair antiquated child support laws, you see my ex-husband was violent and abusive. I finally left and took our son. I had a family court judge tell me "domestic violence is a myth made up in the minds of woman", he then gave my ex-husband sole custody even though not 1 week earlier my ex-husband beat our three year old into unconsciousness during one of his court ordered unsupervised visits and I had proof. If that's not bad enough I got zero visitation. So I moved on, fast forward 10 years later my abuser hunted me down and demanded child support. The courts did no fact finding and slammed me with a ridiculous amount I couldn't afford. I am very sick, I have treatments and medications that I need to stay alive and the court disregarded that completely and I almost died and I lost my house because of the money they were taking for a kid that legally wasn't mine, a child I have no access to and hadn't had access to to in 10 years. Well, I decided I wasn't going to roll over for them and I fought back, and I am still fighting and I am doing it Pro Se (I am my own attorney though I have no formal education in being a lawyer), and the fight shouldn't be this hard or complicated. I think this is unprecedented, having a victim of domestic violence be put through this and it's almost like they are trying to secure the idea that no one is safe and everyone will be treated the same regardless of the situation. I have a whole list of reformation ideas I would be more than happy to sit down and go over with anyone who will listen because something needs to be done. This Hell I have been put through should have never happened and it can never happen to any one else. So please yes, fair child support reform now.

We are both good parents but she gets her half of the time with the kids plus half of mine. Not many groups out there fighting for child time inequality other than 'hand in my pocket' groups that do not have best interest of children. While there are plenty of men who do not need to be around there children unsupervised, there are equally that many women. Im not that dude. I am a man of high character, morals, and ethics. BUT, I DONT HAVE THE RIGHTS TO HALF TIME WITH MY OWN CHILDREN! Judges and lawyers.. I hope your happy. 1 out of 2 children grow up like this (including myself and my children). Its financially better for you to keep this ball rolling until we have a 'CHILD GREAT DEPRESSION'. Not far away already. Poll your prisons, suicide rates, drugs, crimes.. May be just a coincidence that most of them grew up under this system.

To me it was wrong they based my payments off of previous jobs that i had. Mind you im just released from being incarcerated. Now look at me. I cant even get an apartment in my name nothing at all i have been turned down by jobs because of child support. So i just pay what i can $10 $20 $30 $40 . And cant even see my daughter. We always set days to be with eachother but her mom is brain washed and spoiled because of cs rules and regulations which makes my daughter cry because she cant see or hang with her dad child support crushes my daughters heart. False allegations of abuse and violence are encouraged by the court system to ensure custody only goes to one parent. Change now!

I live in California and I currently have a family case in Texas(Howard County)I feel their is so much unfairness done in my case. No fairness at all when it comes to my daughter. I pay $200 court ordered monthly payments on child support and I can't even see my daughter. I call and complain about it but there is no help. I can't even afford a decent attorney just to fight to see my daughter because they charge so much. I have a court hearing coming up on the 15 of December 2016 because my ex wants to get more child support, but keeps me from my daughter. All I want is justice done for all the unfairness that was done on me and to see my daughter and have a healthy relationship with her. Where's the child's rights in all this.

The punitive measures are already grossly imbalanced. The courts need too uphold both parties in an obligation. We pay child support so we need child support too tell some of these unemployed parents too get a job and get active with co partnering or else its arrears and jail time for them. It's criminal how we have too many relying on the system. This system should not be any adult's meal ticket. Nor should a child suffer having too see a **** poor representation of adulthood.

It is absolutely not right that supportive, loving, and willingly involved fathers get treated the same as deadbeat, uninvolved fathers. The child support costs are outrageous and unrealistic. We basically pay my husbands x-wife's mortgage payment every month with what we pay in child support and then struggle to keep our heads above water financially. We both have great jobs and his x wife makes good money too. It's unrealistic to spend $800.+ a month on two healthy young children.

But instead I always have to work a decent job only for my check to be took for child support and insurance for my daughter. I don't mind supporting my child, but wen I don't get to see her nor her mom what to meet me with her really breaks my heart.. I wish trump could help me Or help all good fathers b able to live a good life vs always being punished by paying child support. And also make every man take a DNA test cause women can tell you anything so you can help with their kids.. I need a DNA test cause I wasn't the only one sleeping with her. But I'm punished to pay child support cause I signed the birth certificate. I need help bad

This is absolutely true there needs to be reform im currently with the custodial parent in a relationship in fear of being set on child support im already below the poverty line with 2 children while she refuses to get a job we barely get by i ask for assistance from family members on a daily basis. if i did leave my only resort would be to move in with friends or family and leech off the government my projected child support would be a third of my monthly income with my car payment, insurance and rent alone i would already be going negative sometimes i cant even aford to drive anywhere except my workplace because of how tight money is let alone have cable or any other entertainment devices. if i leave the custodial parent i will most definitely be placed on child support and will not be able to pay it resulting in me going to jail while she doesnt even want to put in the effort to get a job.

Working father with my hand tied behind because if I miss work I get behind on child support and get threatening letters although your a faithful payer.. no money to go to court for the two that not with me.. it just hard to deal with knowing your kids want and need you and there is nothing you can do about it without paying the price to the courts or dealing with the conversation with the mother and risk not seeing them for years again. My issues are similar to others and other experience more. its taken me a long time to get to see my children because of not money and waiting on here to stop playing with our lives. A lot could have been avoided if the system was really for the children. Something needs to be done asap... a lot of violence and other out bursts of cries from the inside of children that just needed their dads or mothers. Something needs to be done. We need to stop the issue at the root of the problem.

I'm paying so much in child support when I do have my kids I can't afford to do anything with them. Or even buy them clothes. I get taxed more. I can't claim them on my taxes. The child support is after tax. I barely have enough money to get by.

It really boils down to this,,,this system doesn't care about the mother, the children, and certainly not the father, ALL it is concerned about is generating revenue for itself, keeping us poor so THEY can keep going to the bank and continuing to control us PERIOD!!! can you say corruption?!! If it truly cared about the children,,then force the custodial parent to produce documentation of all money spent EVERY WEEK and in many cases obtain a JOB!!! It needs to be just as much of a pain in the a** for them as it is for us!! As it is now the custodial parent can get free food, free rent, free phone AND A CHECK!! It's no wonder as to why the morals are all but gone in society today,, and the children grow up seeing this and think it's ok!! WELL IT'S NOT OK!!!
