the loss of a child in general is a horrible thing, but stillbirth leaves you with all of the same postpartum recovery issues as well as a very deep, strangling grief. this *needs* to be included in FMLA.Jan 27th, 2011Someone from Cincinnati, OH signed.

I am just shocked that the Family Medical Leave Act does not already include the death of child. By all accounts it should. The loss of a child, regardless of their age is devastating, Please ammend the FMLA to include the loss of a child.REPORT COMMENTS

My 32-year old daughter died Sept 5, 2010. Her death almost destroyed me and has left me barely functioning. I am one of the "luckier" individuals in that I am my own boss, but I still was only able to take 2 weeks off to make her bodycare arrangements and grieve her loss. I had to jump back into work and try to carry on. It has been extremely difficult, especially since I'm a medical professional. How is it for others who aren't in the position I'm in? Who get 2, maybe 3 days to "collect" themselves? Have any members of Congress lost a child? If they haven't, they have no idea how it feels. There aren't enough words to describe the pain.REPORT COMMENTS

The death of child is both emotionally and physically crippling. Please pass this bill...allow those parents who have experienced this devastating loss time to grieve and time to heal...please.REPORT COMMENTS
