that is unfair to give immigrants young or other wise rights when they or their parents have broken the law;tho it may not be the childs fault it is the parents and our goverment has no problem making parents pay for our childrens crimes so why should young immmigrants get a pass and americans don't get a second chance to make a better life for themselves i just dnt understand!

ALL STATES SHOULD BE ON THE SAME PAGE ON THIS IMPORTANT MATTER. BUT, ALL FELONIES SHOULD BE REVIEWED..MURDER, ANY & ALL SEXUAL ASSAULTS ON ANY MINORS, & MURDER ON A 1st DEGREE SHOULD NOT BE GRANTED RESTORATION OF ANY RIGHTS. MISDEMEANORS CASES SHOULD BE GRANTED FULL RESTORATION OF CIVIL RIGHTS

I was a outlaw when I was younger 18 and 19 because of drug addiction. I have turned my entire life around and work full time. I could care less about owning a gun or anything of than nature, although, I do miss hunting white tail deer and turkey. I do care about my reputation and I would love to be a lawyer someday. I cannot do that in Pennsylvania and the likelihood of an expungement or pardon is next to nearly impossible. The system was designed to rehabilitate. Some it does but some it does not. I was a lucky one after serving time in prison. I do everything I can to make my life better and to help other people. But there is no avenue of relief for me after a successful rehabilitation. What am I supposed to do? Please explain.

I think federal legislation should prevent all States in the Union from holding a 25 year old felony conviction on a citizens criminal record. A person who has paid their debt to society, are now law abiding, and a Christian with no new convictions deserves a fair shot in "The Pursuit of Happiness; so eloquently mentioned in our Declaration of Independence. Instead, they are relegated to low paying jobs and unfairly judged repeatedly. The system is working against society when you prevent decent hard working folk from getting ahead. As a country and society we have to stand by the words "Everyone Deserves a Second Chance" and allow it for those who honestly deserve it.

Once you've payed your debt to society all rights should restored. This system is flawed to say the least.

Got a larceny conviction in va when I was 19. Im 25 and was fired from a government job I been working for for 3 1/2 year since 2010. We got a new boss and he told me if I can take care of my record he would rehire me. I fought hard for that job and it went out the window because I cannot get an expungement. I applied for the same position at different agencies and they all said the same. These are potential employers with great benefits. Please give us second chances.

I was arrested when I was 16 for a firearm related offense. I understand my decision was terrible for society and am truly remorseful. But to have the remaining 80% of my life deprecated will only make things worse for myself, my family and the general society.

I got 2 felonies when I was 21- Robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in VA. I had no prior record (not even juvenile), and I dropped the people off and picked them up later at a different location. Because I knew they were going to rob a store I got the same charges as them. I am now 30 years old and have not been in any addition trouble. Some people are not career criminals and just make a single bad choice. We should not have to pay for it for the rest of our lives. We have supposedly received our punishment, but it seems as though the punishment continues indefinitely, not being able to vote, get a job, or hold a state license.

One mistake can ruin a person's life in the Commonwealth of Virginia. A pardon has no barring on job employment and could care less what the situation is. It's almost forcing people to become career criminals. It's sad enough that Virginia is #4 of Highest Percentage of Disenfranchised Voters. Please pass this bill.

This is why you have so many repeat offenders because people cannot get a job.

I have a misdemeanor larceny by employee charge that is 10 years old. I live in North Carolina and it is very hard for me to find a job in medical billing and coding. I feel that i'm going to school to pursue a better career and life for me and my kids for nothing. Whats the point of trying to get an education in an area that you're interested in amd you can't find a job for a mistake you made 10 years ago
