A conviction that is forgiven should have its record sealed , especially when the offense did not involved violence, guns, drugs, and so on. There are many , many ...particular cases out there that need to be taken in consideration. Thank you.

Someone please give us a chance to show that we have changed and grown up. We are more responsible and we know that everyone makes some type of mistakes in their life. Big or Small

I am in the same boat as the person from Virginia that wrote the above text. I am one of the fortunate ones. I work for a non profit and I have been here for 14 years. My felony drug conviction was almost `7 years ago. I received my rights back in 2011. I love my job but it would be nice to get a place to live without having to put all my defects on paper and make copies of my restoration of rights every time I have to tell about the felony. I have mine framed and in my office on the wall for everyone to see. I am very proud of my accomplishments.

In order to give people a second chance...you can not keep penalize them by their past...

This needs to happen. I live in Virginia, and I made a mistake when I was in high school and had just turned 18. Now I am forced to suffer even after I paid my debt to society. I can't get a job. What am I supposed to do? This is just discrimination against ex-offenders.

All people should be given a chance to work. How else are we to prove ourselves as responsible members of society again. I've been to so many interviews, qualified for the jobs and then got sadly turned down because I had a small criminal record. The American Workforce is missing out on some great workers.
