It's not only the cost of the Omni Pod Insulin Pump, even the cost to treat type two diabetics is through the roof. My father will cap out each year after 8 months, leaving him with thousands of dollars in prescription costs. Our healthcare system is falling apart, quickly. I don't agree with some of the wording of the statement, but have recently lost secondary insurance coverage which picked up the cost of the pods. I now have to rely on a Medicare Supplement plan which does not cover if Medicare does not approve. The Omnipod system has greatly improved my diabetes control which will help to prevent complications. I have been a Type I diabetic for 29 years and, luckily, have no complications which can lead to much greater expense to Medicare than the cost of the pods.REPORT COMMENTS

Due to a series of strokes, I do not have the dexterity to be independent to fill my pump. I am able to complete the Omnipod process. Since being on Medicare B, I am now paying private pay for my Omnipod supplies. I woud appreciate Medicare providing this appliance for me.REPORT COMMENTS
