I had 2 years worth of injections for severe endometriosis, it was awful, between the severe migraines, mood swings and the tremendous weight gain, I regret that I ever took this drug in 1999 and 2000. The drug did not help my endometriosis at all, it still continued to grow. I have had long term effects that cannot be reversed and it is so depressing. Something needs to be done to get this drug off of the market. Something needs to be done for those of us who are still suffering from the long term effects of this drug. I am still overweight and cannot lose the weight after multiple attempts and trials, memory loss, bone and muscle problems, and so many more things wrong that were never present until I started to take this drug. I trusted the doctors who said I had to take this drug, now if I know what I know now I should have stayed clear of this drug as it has destroyed my life!REPORT COMMENTS

I took one 7.5 dose for fibroids. It did not stop my bleeding, it increased it to the point of severe anemia and a trip to the ER. My knees are in less than great shape, and I was a spin instructor before taking. And the anxiety still crops up, and I took my one dose in October 2011. Really? All these months later and now I need a med for anxiety? And it didn't work- didn't shrink the fibroids, didn't stop the bleeding. Just do some research, and tell people the honest output of the study!REPORT COMMENTS

I took 6 shots of Lupron for endometriosis in 1995. I had severe hot flashes, depression, bone loss, painful sex and all the things you would expect from being a young woman and suddenly being thrust into a chemical menopause. All that was bad, but I was prepared somewhat for those side effects. What I wasn't prepared for was the rheumatoid arthritis that started while I was on Lupron and was diagnosed several months after finishing it. RA is a terrible disease. It has taken my career(I was a violinist), my marriage(my husband couldn't deal with being a caretaker). I am completely disabled and am in almost constant pain. I have had numerous surgeries and am on more medications than I can count. One of them, Orencia, costs $6800 each time I get an infusion(Monthly). In 2000 I nearly died from a side effect from another RA drug and spent 6 weeks in the ICU on a ventilator. I did not even know I had endometriosis. I just couldn't get pregnant and the only thing my GYN could find was a little endo. I took 6 months of Lupron to get rid of something that wasn't even bothering me and I never got pregnant either. The consequences for me taking Lupron have been catastrophic. I was NEVER warned of any possibility that I could end up like this. I thought I was just putting up with hot flashes for six months!! I am really angry, and I have been waiting a long time for the government to acknowledge how dangerous Lupron. I don't want this happening to anyone else. It is absolutely sickening that so much money was made through misery and the defrauding of me and others whose lives have been ruined by Lupron.REPORT COMMENTS

My daughter was diagnosed with precocious puberty , her doctor recommend this medication I asked about the side effects the only thing I was told was possible bone loss later in life . I even asked more than once if it had other side effects like weight gain and was always told no . This medication should defiantly be taken off the market not just taken off of FDA list but taken away completely because it has horrible side effects and my daughter has been off this medication for a year and still has nausea , vomiting , weight gain , and joint pain.REPORT COMMENTS

I have been off of Lupron for 13 years(i was a 20 year old college student at the time of my 1st injection), and I am still recovering from the side effects. I asked my (amazing) current gynecologist what his thoughts were re: Lupron and he shook his head. He said, "the side effects WAY outweigh the benefits." He said that the it is particularly awful with regards to depleting minerals in the bones--which would explain the joint pain and severe deficiencies I have suffered all these years later. I was validated after all these years. I lost most of my 20s to this drug. I am now 34 and still having trouble losing weight and I am an athletic person with a good diet. In addition, I suffered severe depression and anxiety. I also still have residual hot flashes from the drug. Also, there was almost no relief from the Endometriosis after I stopped taking the injections. My body still had the symptoms of the disease as well as residual symptoms from the drug. I BEG you to please take this drug off the market. Sure. it has helped some people, but the more research I do, the more I realize it has done more harm than good. DO IT! NOW!REPORT COMMENTS

During the treatment I expected the sides effects that my doctor told me I would have... night sweats, mood swings, weight gain (more than they said) about 60 lbs., possible bone loss, normal menopausal symptoms. I had all of those and understood that could happen. What was not in the warning label was the aftermath symptoms...severe bone degeneration, memory loss for an extended period of time, severe bloating in the stomach region, severe health problems when you were in perfect health prior to injections, high blood pressure, bone and joint pain, adrenal issues, fatigue, insomnia, vitamin deficiencies, and autoimmune issues. If i would have known about what it was going to do to me after the treatments I would have never agreed. I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2005. after two months after a lapro surgery. I was desperate for pain relief and understood the symptoms during the injections. I did not know I would be faced with the health problems and bills that I am now every year. It has become un-imaginable. I was always a healthy person and still follow healthy habits but am so tired of having health issues a 30 year old should not have. My mind does not function like a 30 year old nor does my body. Please don't take LUPRON!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

I was put on monthly Lupron injections in Dec 1998 in order to help with my endometriosis prior to a hysterectomy. Since then I have lived a nightmare of pain throughout my body along with having thyroid problems, bone loss, eye problems. I was never told about what long term effects this would cause. Why is this still on the market even?REPORT COMMENTS

I was put on depo lupron when I was 24 for endometriosis. I did get pregnant a couple of weeks later after my last shot of lupron. My child was born pre-mature at 29 weeks. I believe this medicine caused this. I still have pelvic pain and joint pain all over my body. My hot flashes have never gone away.REPORT COMMENTS

I was put on this drug after having an hysterocmy and removal of ovaries when I was 39 years old. I am now 54 and I have had lifetime side effects from this drug. Loss of memory, night sweats, mood swings and most of all-Loss of sex drive. This drug should be pulled from the market. I have been told that the effects from this drug is permante and nothing can change that for me now. If I would have know about this prior before taking drug- I would have never done so.REPORT COMMENTS

Prior to starting this medication, I was only warned of menopause as being the side effect of this medication. I experienced a long list of side effects during treatment that caused me to stop treatment before the recommended six months. Bone pain started at that time and never resolved. I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease at the age of 33. Please investigate the safety of this medication during treatment and long term. In many situations the risks of this medication outweigh the benefits.REPORT COMMENTS

I was not properly warned of the extreme side effects of Lupron, and was assured that any side effects I experienced would decrease over time. This is not the case. It has been 4 months since my injection, and I continue to feel worse each day, battling a myriad of physical problems I did not have before lupron. This is a very dangerous drug and anyone taking it should be properly warned of its detrimental effects to a woman's heath, especially when she is already compromised by physical pain and related symptoms from endometriosis.REPORT COMMENTS
